Arrests in Jimo City, Shandong Province
(Clearwisdom.net) Note: The following is a shortened version of a
longer and more detailed article that appeared on the Minghui.org website
(Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net). Ms. Zhang Xiuying, 65, lived in San Village, Lingshan Town, Jimo City,
Shandong Province. Officers from the Lingshan Town Police Station arrested her
on July 15, 2008, as she spoke to people about Falun Gong at a market in a
neighboring village. The persecutors subsequently ransacked her home. In the past few years, Party officials have repeatedly arrested and
incarcerated Zhang Xiuying and held her in a brainwashing center and forced
labor camp(s). They tricked Zhang Xiuying into opening the door to her home
early on the morning on September 29, 2002, and arrested Zhang Xiuying, her son
Fang Shaoliang and eight other practitioners who were visiting her. They took
them to the Qingdao brainwashing center. While there, Zhang Xiuying held a
hunger strike for nearly two months and firmly refused to "reform," so
the officials took her to the brainwashing center at Wangcun Forced Labor Camp
in Zibo City and persecuted her there for one month. They arrested her again in April 2004 when she distributed Falun Gong flyers.
They sentenced her to two years of forced labor and sent her to the No. 2
Women's Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province, also called the Wangcun Forced
Labor Camp in Zibo City where she was savagely tortured. She regained freedom in
April 2006. Dong Quanqi, chairman of the Lingshan Town Comprehensive Administration
Office in Jimo City led three officers from Lingshan Police Station, San Village
Party secretary and village head and broke into Zhang Xiuying's home at 9 am on
June 19, 2007. They struck Zhang Xiuying to the ground, dragged her into a
police vehicle and drove off.
