67-year-old Ms. Wang Qingshan Targeted by Authorities for Speaking Out about the Persecution of Falun Gong

On July 17, 2008, Ms. Wang Qingshan, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Xinghua Village, Weihai City, Shandong Province, was illegally arrested when she was distributing truth clarification materials. Police from the 610 Office of Huancui District ransacked Ms. Wang's home. She is currently being detained at the Weihai Detention Center. The police said they would not release her until after the Olympics.

Ms. Wang Qingshan is 67 years old. Before becoming a Dafa practitioner, she had suffered from multiple illnesses like cervical problems, rheumatism, neurasthenia, heart disease and gynecological problems. As a result of her bad health Ms. Wang had to retire early. As her health worsened, so did her temper. She had even contemplated suicide as a form of escape from all her sufferings.

On May 2, 1998, Ms. Wang discovered Falun Dafa. After reading Zhuan Falun the first time, she felt very light and energized. Previously, if she was to read any books or watch television for a period of time she would feel extremely tired. Her eyes would hurt, and she would experience sharp pains in her neck. Straight away, Ms. Wang knew that Zhuan Falun is no ordinary book and Falun Gong is no ordinary Qigong. She decided to adhere to the teachings in Zhuan Falun and embrace the universal principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She wanted to return to her true original self and be totally selfless.

Within a month, all her illnesses disappeared. Instead of her family having to look after her, now she could look after them. She could even do the housework. At night, she could sleep well. She turned into a truly happy person and so did her family. They had witnessed the wonders of Dafa. Her relatives and neighbors were all impressed that at her age, she could walk so fast and carry a 10 kg bag of flour, effortlessly.

One summer day in 1999, Ms. Wang was cooking porridge when the pressure cooker that she was using suddenly exploded. The hot porridge splattered everywhere. The skin on her right leg was scalded so badly that her skirt was soaked with blood. Seeing the severity of the accident, her husband went into a complete state of shock. However about 20 days later, all her injures healed up completely without any medical treatments. To this day, her husband is still amazed by the wonders of Dafa.

On July 20, 1999, Jiang Zemin, the then President of China and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), started persecuting Falun Gong. Ms. Wang wrote to all the relevant government officials, giving an honest account of how Falun Gong had benefited her. She was hoping that if these officials learned the truth about Falun Gong, they would then conduct a thorough investigation into the persecution and put an end to it. Instead, the local 610 Office that was set up specifically to persecute Falun Gong targeted her. The residential committee of Xinghua Village even appointed a woman to follow her and spy on her. She was also monitored by the Huancui 610 Office.

On January 3, 2001, when Ms. Wang was home doing the laundry, six policemen from the Weihai City Police Station, led by Wang Zhaozheng, broke into her house with the intention of ransacking it. Ms. Wang proceeded to ask Wang Zhaozhen what was wrong with wanting to follow Truthfulness-Compassion and Forbearance and wanting to be a good person. She had then advised him to do something useful with his time. Wang Zhaozhen had then arrogantly replied that as he was paid by the CCP, he would do what they told him to do. If Ms. Wang was to pay him then he would do what she told him to do.

Wang Zhaozhen and his cohorts then proceeded to ransack the house. They confiscated Dafa
books, exercise music tapes, a videotape of her children's weddings and 800 yuan in cash. They then arrested her. At the police station, some of them watched the wedding tape and mocked her by saying "Oh, this is really a wedding tape." Eventually, she was charged with "disturbing social order." When Ms. Wang's husband went to ask for the wedding tape back, Wang Zhaozhen and Liu Jie, from the Huancui District 610 office, denied ever seeing the tape.

Ms. Wang's mother is 88 years old and is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. She needs to be taken care off by her daughter. Meanwhile, Ms. Wang's husband requests to visit her have been refused by the police.

Here is a person who practices Falun Gong and benefits greatly from it. But the CCP does not allow her to speak about this fact. Instead, she is being treated as an enemy of the State. This is the CCP's definition of a "homogeneous society." I hope all kind hearted people will wake up to the true evil nature of the CCP, withdraw from the CCP and establish for themselves a good future.
