Mr. Qin Daqun Died as a Result of Abuse in Custody in Chongqing City

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Qin Daqun, 56, was employed by the Chongqing City Third Construction Company. He began practicing Falun Dafa in 1996. After the persecution started, he was taken into custody at the Geleshan Brainwashing Center located in Shapingba District. On October 5, 2005, he was arrested by officers from the Shapingba District Police Department and sentenced to one year of forced labor, which he served in the Xishanping Forced Labor Camp.

On May 19, 2008, the police arrested Mr. Qin in the Technology District. On May 20, 2008, the police ransacked his home on Xiao Street in Shapingba District. The police detained him in the Jiangbei Detention Center, where a guard assaulted him from behind and another guard kicked him in the chest, causing him to pass out on the floor. The guards took him to the Xishanping Labor Camp, had him checked out at the camp clinic, transferred him to the Beibei District Ninth Hospital, and quickly transferred him to the Chongqing City Oncology Hospital. The hospital put him in the second bed on the seventh floor. When he was admitted, he was emaciated and dying.

Mr. Qin's family picked him up on August 28, 2008. He died at around 3:00 p.m. on September 5, 2008.
