Confined to a Mental Hospital, Xu Yong Tortured into a Vegetative State and Ms. Huang Zhonghui Blinded (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Yong, around 30 years old, is from the Pufang region of Chibi City, Hubei Province. He is being confined in the Psychiatric Department at the Pufang Hospital, where he was tortured into a vegetative state. Practitioner Ms. Huang Zhonghui, age 40 and also from the Pufang region, lost her eyesight due to torture at the same hospital.

Another practitioner, Ms. Liu Xiaolian, was released recently when she was close to death due to the persecution. She is 69-years-old.

Xu Yong was once an employee at the Pufang Corporation in Chibi City, Hubei Province. He went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in 2000. On his way, agents from the Chibi City Police Bureau arrested and detained him. He was confined at the 1^st Detention Center in Chibi City, where he endured physical abuse. They released him when he became ill. At the end of 2000, when he publicly clarified misunderstandings people have about Falun Gong, police arrested him again and sent him to a forced labor camp. Right after his release, his employer sent him to the psychiatric department of the Pufang Hospital. They released him for a few days before the police confined him in the Psychiatric Department again to continue the persecution.

Under orders from the police, doctors at the Pufang Hospital have injected Falun Gong practitioners with harmful psychotropic drugs. If they refused the injections, drugs would be mixed into their food. Family visits have been forbidden.

Ms. Liu Xiaolian has suffered all kinds of mental and physical torment. Department Head Dr. Zhang and his assistants once injected massive quantities of drugs into her over a 24-hour period, making her entire body appear blackish and swollen. She had difficulty taking in food and was dying. The doctor estimated that she had only about 20 or so days to live. Soon, the hospital officials released her.

According to Ms. Liu, practitioners Huang Zhonghui and Xu Yong have endured the worst torture because of their young age. Xu Yong has gone into a vegetative state, while Huang Zhonghui has lost sight in both eyes.
