My Thoughts After Reading "My Understanding of Doing the Exercises"

(Clearwisdom.net) After reading a practitioner's article "My Understanding of Doing the Exercises" published by Minghui in Chinese on August 30, 2008, I wanted to share a similar experience that I had.

I started practicing Falun Gong in June 1996. When fall came and the weather got colder, I found that I had to do the sitting meditation with a heavy coat on and wear pants instead of shorts. These pants made it difficult to sit, so I decided that I would do the meditation under a comforter so that I didn't have to wear pants. That night I had a dream. I was walking along a busy street and all of a sudden I realized that I didn't have any pants on. I was just wearing a pair of briefs. I was so embarrassed that I woke up from the dream. I had then realized that Teacher was giving me a hint. I should wear regular pants when doing the exercises even while alone at my own home. Later I told a veteran practitioner about my dream and the practitioner had said that Teacher had asked us all to dress in a decent manner when we do the exercises.

Teacher explained in Zhuan Falun,

"The field at our practice site is better than any other. If you can just do the exercises in that field, you're better off than if you had your health problem treated. My Law Bodies sit in a circle, there's a dome over the energy field where we practice and above the dome there's a huge Law Wheel and a great Law Body guarding the field."

What had I done in this solemn situation? I was so ashamed.

I later enlightened to the fact that we must be serious when we study or memorize the Fa. Teacher has told us that as long as we practice Dafa, he would be beside us all the time. Also, in the Dafa books, every word has Teacher's image. From then on, I have been dressing in a decent manner from first thing in the morning to the last thing at night when I go to bed, even on hot summer days. I believe that I should dress in a decent manner at all times because I might want to recite the teachings any time. It has been twelve years now and I have never felt too warm, even when it is at the height of summer. I feel that this is the least I should do as a Dafa practitioner.
