Additional Persecution News from China - August 17, 2008 (42 Reports)
(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of
persecution that took place in 37 cities and counties in 14 provinces. In this
report, 59 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention
and at least 91 practitioners were illegally arrested. 1. [Shulan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Cao Yanwen Arrested At 4:30 p.m. on August 9, 2008, Sun Lu, a policeman from the Tianhe Police
Station in Jishu Town, arrested Ms. Cao Yanlin and took her to the Nansan
Detention Center of Shulan County. 2. [Beijing] Ms. Ouyangwen Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor Practitioner Ms. Ouyangwen was sentenced to two years of forced labor, and
she is being detained in the Daxing Women's Forced Labor Camp in Beijing. 3. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Erliang Arrested Mr. Erliang, a practitioner from Shenyang, 20, was arrested on August 10,
2008. 4. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Pang Yali Arrested Again Ms. Pang Yali was arrested again on August 13, 2008. 5. [Boli County, Heilongjiang] Ms. Wang Shumei and Ms. Qu Jinghong Arrested At around 3:00 p.m. on August 6, 2008, police officers arrested Falun Gong
practitioners Ms. Wang Shumei and Ms. Qu Jinghong from Boli County because they
exposed the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Police ransacked their
homes, confiscated their NTDTV (New Tang Dynasty Television Station) satellite
receiver and other personal items, and took them to the Qitaihe Forced Labor
Camp. 6. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhu Ruiqiu Arrested At around 9:00 p.m. on August 11, police from the Xinhua Police Station
arrested practitioner Ms. Zhu Ruiqiu, who is 50 years old. 7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Qinghua Arrested On August 13, 2008, police from the Zhongjie Police Station, Shenhe District,
Shenyang City arrested Ms. Zhang Qinghua, a practitioner from Liaozhong County
in Shenyang City. 8. [Tianjin City] Ms. Gong Hui Arrested On August 13, 2008, Ms. Gong Hui, a practitioner from the Nankai District in
Tianjin City, was followed when she distributed materials exposing the
persecution of Falun Gong in her community. The police arrested her and took her
to the Wangdingdi Police Station. That same night, the police ransacked Ms. Gong
Hui's home. She is being detained in the Nankai Police Station of Tianjin City. 9. [Beijing] Ms. Zhao Chunying Arrested On July 30, 2008, police from the Xicheng District broke into Ms. Zhao
Chunying's home and arrested her. They confiscated her two desktops and newly
printed Falun Dafa books. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor. 10. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Weisheng Arrested On the morning of August 15, 2008, police arrested Ms. Liu Weisheng, a
practitioner from Changyi, Weifang City, Shandong Province, and confiscated all
her cash, cell phone and other items. Mr. Liu Weisheng is being detained in the
Changyi Detention Center. 11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xue Cunjia Arrested In August 2008, Mr. Xue Cunjia, a practitioner from the Qingdao Development
Zone, was arrested because she tried to persuade people to withdraw from the
Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations. 12. [Wucheng County, Shandong Province] Ms. Yuan Weifang Arrested On the morning of August 4, police officers arrested Ms. Yuan Weifang, a
practitioner from Wangtun Village, Luquantun Township, Wucheng County. That same
day, she was taken to the Wucheng Detention Center. 13. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Liuquan and Mr. Li Ping Arrested On August 7, 2008, the officers from Xiantai Township arrested Mr. Ma Liuquan
and Mr. Li Ping because they distributed materials exposing the persecution of
Falun Gong. They were taken to the Police Bureau of Beishi District in Baoding
City. 14. [Gongyi City, Henan Province] Mr. He Chuanlong Arrested On the evening of August 5, 2008, officials from the Xicun Town Police
Station and the Political Legal and Judiciary Committee arrested Mr. He
Chuanlong, 53, a practitioner from East Village, Xicun Town, Gongyi City, Henan
Province. The Political Legal and Judiciary Committee in Xicun Town (Tel):
86-371-64032772 86-371-64130332 15. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Lin Zhiqin Arrested On July 3, 2008, police officers from the Gaoxin Police Bureau in Xi'an City
arrested Ms. Lin Zhiqin at her home. She is being detained in the detention
center of the Xi'an City Police Bureau. 16. [Pingliang City, Gansu Province] Mr. Yang Zonglin Arrested On the afternoon of August 8, 2008, police arrested Mr. Yang Zonglin, a
practitioner from Pingliang City, when he was exposing the persecution of Falun
Gong in the mall. At 9:00 p.m., police officers from the Domestic Security
Division ransacked Mr. Yang Zonglin's home. At around midnight, Mr. Yang Zonglin
was taken to the Hanjiagou Detention Center. 17. [Xinjiang Province] Mr. Liu Chaokun and His Wife Arrested and Detained In early July 2008, officials from the 610 Office arrested Mr.
Liu Chaokun, his wife and his niece Ms. Liu Hongxia. These practitioners are
being detained in the Tianshan Detention Center and Liudaowan Detention Center
of Urumqi City respectively. 18. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Zhang Fengixang and Family Members
Arrested At around 8:00 p.m. on July 16, 2008, police arrested Ms. Zhang Fengixiang
and her three family members at their rental home. A desktop and two copiers
were confiscated. Ms. Zhang Fengxiang's daughter and son were released at the
end of that day and left home to escape further persecution. Ms. Zhang Fengxiang
is being detained in the Nansanyanjing Detention Center, where she has been
subjected to beatings by the police. 19. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Qi Yuying Arrested At around 5:00 a.m. on August 3, 2008, Ms. Qi Yuying was followed and
arrested when she went for a walk. 20. [Duolun City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Ji Arrested and Her Home Ransacked At around 5:00 p.m. on August 15, 2008, Ms. Ji, in her 50s, was arrested and
her home was ransacked. All of her Falun Dafa books and truth-clarifying
materials about the persecution of Falun Gong were confiscated. 21. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Jianrong Arrested At around 10:00 p.m. on July 30, 2008, officials from the Baowu Township
government arrested Ms. Li Jianrong, 36, a bus conductor from the Leshan Bus
Company. 22. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Fu Shulan Arrested At around noon on August 15, police from the Zhaojiaqiao Police Station
arrested practitioner Ms. Fu Shulan. 23. [Xishui County, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Youchu, Ms. Ye Guiying and Ms.
Zhi Aihong Arrested On July 2008, Mr. Wang Youchu, Ms. Ye Guiying and Ms. Zhi Aihong were
arrested 24. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] Ms. Hu Shuping and Ms. Cao Furong
Detained On July 21, 2008, police from the Chengzhong Police Station, Yingcheng City
arrested practitioners Ms. Hu Shuping and Ms. Cao Furong when they were
clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. On August 5, they were transferred to the
No. 1 Detention Center in Yingcheng City. Additionally, Mr. Chen Desheng, a practitioner who was arrested on July 23,
was transferred to the No. 1 Detention Center on August 7. 25. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Lu Yuying Arrested On around August 8, practitioner Ms. Lu Yuying was arrested. 26. [Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Wu Xiulan Arrested On the evening of July 15, 2008, police from the Domestic Security Division,
Zhongshan District, arrested Ms. Wu Xiulan at her home. In 2005, after a truth-clarifying material production site was discovered,
Ms. Wu Xiulan was arrested and sentenced to a 9-month prison term. She was
placed on probation after police extorted 20,000 yuan from her. 27. [Chongqing City] Ms. Zou Suimei and Dr Yao Arrested On the evening of August 11, 2008, police officers arrested practitioners Ms.
Zou Suimei and Dr Yao, wife and husband from Jiangbei District of Chongqing
City. 28. [Ning County, Gansu Province] Ms. Fan Juncao Detained On the morning of August 11, 2008, police from the Chengguan Police Station
in Ning County arrested Ms. Fan Juncao, a practitioner from Ning County. She is
being detained in the Ning County Detention Center. 29. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Ying Transferred to Shanxi and Detained Practitioner Ms. Liu Ying was transferred to Shanxi and detained in the
Chaoyang Detention Center. 30. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Fang Arrested On August 10, 2008, Mr. Wu Fang, a practitioner from Hanyang District, was
arrested at home. 31. [Tianjin City] Mr. Wang Jun Arrested At around noon of August 15, police arrested Mr. Wangjun, a practitioner from
Baodi District, Tianjin City, and took him to the Lintingkou Police Station.
They confiscated his laptop, printer and other personal items. 32. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Xie Xueshao Arrested On the morning of August 1, 2008, Mr. Xie Xueshao, a practitioner from
Maoming City, Guangdong Province, was arrested at home. 33. [Guangzong County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Xuetan Arrested At around 3:00 p.m. on July 16, Lu Guiquan and two police officers from the
Dongzhao Township Police Station, Guangzong County, Hebei Province broke into
Ms. Li Xuetan's home at Bantai Village, Dongzhao Township. They confiscated a
picture of the founder of Falun Dafa, other pictures and all of her Falun Dafa
books. They then took her to the County Detention Center. 34. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhao Wenzhen and Ms. Lin Shaoying
Detained in Brainwashing Center Ms. Zhao Wenzhen and Ms. Lin Shaoying, practitioners from Jinping District,
Shantou City, who had been arrested on July 30, were sent to the Shantou City
Brainwashing Center. 35. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Gao Hongcai and Ms. Ren Shirong Arrested On August 10, police officers from the Xindihao Police Station arrested
practitioners Mr. Gao Hongcai and Ms. Ren Shirong, husband and wife. They
confiscated their desktop computer, television and satellite receiver. These
practitioners are now being detained in a detention center. 36. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Wenhui Arrested Ms. Liu Wenhui, a practitioner from Hengshui College, 38, was arrested when
she went on a business trip to Beijing for a conference in June 2008. 37. [Tangshan, Hebei Province] Mr. Luo Zhijian Arrested On August 13, officers from Lubei District Court, Tangshan City, arrested
practitioner Ms. Luo Zhijian. 38. [Pingshan County, Hebei Province] Home of Ms. Bei Shuhua and Mr. Bai
Fenghai Ransacked On the morning of July 22, 2008, employees from the Pingshan County
Broadcasting Station and police officers from the County Police Bureau, about
ten people in all, went to the home of Ms. Bai Shuhua and Mr. Bei Fenghai,
practitioners in Donghuishe Town, and confiscated their satellite receiver. 39. [Huaiyang, Henan Province] Mr. Zhu Decai and Mr. Zhu Defu Arrested On August 7, 2008, police from the Domestic Security Division, Huaiyang City
and Xizhan Township Police Station arrested Mr. Zhu Decai and Mr. Zhu Defu,
practitioners from Tianqi Village, Xinzhan Township, Huaiyang City at their
home. The police also confiscated Mr. Zhu Defu's Dafa books. 40. [Chongqing City] Ms. Huang Zhehan Detained in Forced Labor Camp Ms. Huang Zhehan, a practitioner from Chongqing City, is detained in the
Women's Labor Camp of Chongqing City. 41. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Jin Miaoqing and Ms. Song Li,
Husband and Wife, Detained Again Ms. Jin Miaoqing, 55, an employee of the No. 2 Oil Extraction Factory, has
been arrested for the third time and sentenced to one year and 6 months of
forced labor since 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party started to persecute
Falun Gong. Ms. Song Li, 54, a retiree from Electric Power Group, has been arrested three
times since 1999 when the Chinese Communist Party started to persecute Falun
Gong. At around 7:30a.m. on July 5, 2008, eight plainclothes police officers from
the Babaishang Police Bureau and Tuqiang Police Station, No 2 Oil Extraction
Factory broke into and ransacked Mr. Jin Miaoqing's home. They confiscated two
desktop computers, a printer, pamphlets and other items. Then, they took Mr. Jin
Miaoqing, Ms. Song Li and their daughter to the Babaishang Police Bureau. Mr.
Jin Miaoqing is detained in the Daqing No. 3 Detention Center. Ms. Song Li is
detained in the Daqing No. 1 Detention Center. 42. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Shuwen's Forced Labor
Term Extended On February 5, 2007, local police arrested Mr. Li Shuwen, a practitioner from
Shuangyashan City, while Mr. Li was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. The
police ransacked his home and sentenced him to one and a half years forced
labor, to be served in the Shuihua Labor Camp. The end of his term should have
been August 5, 2008, but the authorities at the Shuihua Labor Camp have extended
his term.
