(Clearwisdom.net) The Chinese New Year celebration lasts from February to March 2009, when the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) tour will arrive in Taiwan. Ticket sales began on December 1, and have been highly anticipated. People from all walks of life are eagerly looking forward to the show. Since the DPA performances coincide with the plum blossom season of Alishan National Scenic Area, some folks are planning a combined holiday to enjoy both the DPA show and the flowers.

The U.S.-based Divine Performing Arts Company is producing programs based on Chinese traditional culture, making use of Chinese classical dance and Chinese ethnic dance forms to display the best of Chinese traditional culture, which has been most faithfully conserved in Taiwan. Ms. Wu Lin Bifen, the South Gate Lions Club chair of Taipei City, attended the DPA show with her son last season. She said that they were both very moved by the high artistic level of the show and that it should be seen by more people. Her club is considering sponsorship of "Friends of DPA" to contribute to Chinese traditional culture.

During last season's DPA Chiayi City ticket selling, people booked bus tours that would allow them to enjoy both the DPA show and the plum blossoms. Now, folks from other regions also want to join.

The DPA tour is now in its third year. Mr. Xu, the principal of the Ren'ai Elementary School in Pingtung City, first noticed information about the DPA in March 2008, and was immediately attracted to it. Sadly, tickets had already been sold out. Recently, he invited the whole school of more than one thousand students to watch the promotional DVD during assembly. He said, "I will absolutely not miss this season's show, and I want to introduce this wonderful performance to all teachers, students, and parents."

Mr. Chen Xuanmo is a traditional Chinese painter who lives in Yunlin County. Last season's DPA performance had a miraculous effect on him and rescued him from a temporary lack of creative insight. He said that the deep traditional cultural elements of cultivation allowed him to generate new creative concepts, and gave him insights into deeper dimensions. He has already purchased four tickets for this coming season, and will take his family and friends to see the DPA performance.

The inner meaning of DPA programs encompasses the traditional virtues of loyalty, respect, self-discipline, integrity, compassion, wisdom and trustworthiness. Watching the DPA can rectify people's minds. Professor Ming Chee-Chung thinks that everyone will benefit from watching DPA, "DPA has profound meanings," he said.
