(Clearwisdom.net) Dr. Wu Xiuxin, of the Laixi City People's Hospital in Shandong Province, was arrested last year during the Olympics because she practiced Falun Gong. Her daughter, Wu Xin, tried to hire a lawyer to defend her. When she learned that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had issued orders prohibiting lawyers from submitting "not guilty" pleas for Falun Gong practitioners, she fell into despair. The following are the details of the persecution to which Dr. Wu has been subjected, as reported by her daughter.

My name is Wu Xin, and I live in Laixi City, Shandong Province. My mother, Wu Xiuxin, and works in the Gastroscopic Office of the Laixi City People's Hospital. She is a wonderful doctor and is trusted and liked by all of her patients. My father is retired. I graduated from college recently and am looking for a job.

I previously had a wonderful family life, but on the night of July 31, 2008, the city police came to our home and arrested my mother. They also ransacked our house. They took a computer, a printer, and some books. They did all of this because she is a Falun Gong practitioner. She is currently being detained in the Dashan Jail in Qingdao City.

After my mother began her cultivation in Falun Dafa, she became even more enthusiastic in helping others. Her own health also continually improved and she became younger looking and prettier. She is a good doctor.

Because the government is run by the Chinese Communist Party, I have no place to appeal. I can't even find a lawyer to help her, since the CCP issued an order forbidding all lawyers from making "not guilty" pleas for Falun Gong practitioners.

The so-called evidence that the police fabricated to frame my mother was repeatedly rejected by the district attorney's office. But the 610 Office in Laixi City would not give up and continued to fabricate "evidence," and eventually my mother was sentenced to three years in prison.

I can't describe how sad I am. It has been eight months since Ilast saw my mother. Although she had been in very good health, she now has high blood pressure and a heart condition and needs help even walking to the restroom. She is totally unsuitable for detainment due to her health, but the police deny requests for her release and keep her in jail. I am extremely concerned about her.

Aside from my mother, I know of two other health care workers, Dr. Li Guoen and Ms. Sun Ling, both wonderful staff members at the Laixi City People's Hospital in Shandong Province, who are also being persecuted. Dr. Li, a physician, and Ms. Sun, a nurse, have both been persecuted because they practice Falun Gong. Mr. Li has been sentenced to four years in prison, while Ms. Sun is detained in Dashan Jail in Qingdao City. I was told that she has held a very long hunger strike to protest the persecution, and she is in critical condition.

I hope that people from all walks of life will extend their support to my mother, Mr. Li, and Ms. Sun.
