(Clearwisdom.net) The semi-final round of NTDTV's International Classical Chinese Dance Competition took place at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center in Manhattan on June 20. After a spirited one-day competition, 31 contestants made it to the final round.
As the 42 semi-finalists presented their renditions of classical Chinese dance, the audience rewarded them with rounds of warm, enthusiastic applause.

This was Ms. Zhou's first experience with the International Classical Chinese Dance Competition. She was a bit emotional and applauded repeatedly. "Magnificent, definitely world class! My feeling is that the competition is not just about dancing, as it conveyed the mission and meaning of dance. These young dancers are excellent. More importantly, they chose very good themes for their presentations. You were invited to review history with the contestants, who vividly portrayed the essence of Chinese culture, such as compassion, righteousness, loyalty, and filial piety."
Zhou said that she felt spiritually cleansed by the competition. "The competition connected me to the past and our ancestors. I am so encouraged and feel proud of our divinely-imparted culture."
For Lili, this was also her first experience with the International Classical Chinese Dance Competition. She said, "I heard about it from the newspaper and TV. However, actually experiencing it live was quite a new thing. They use a series of dancing combinations to express emotions and portray stories. Every contestant was so good; it was really unbelievable. Now I know what classical Chinese dance is."
This was the second year for Chinese immigrant Qiuping to see the competition. She felt that all the performances were very peaceful and pure. "Every contestant was very devoted and performing wholeheartedly. It gave you a very comfortable feeling."
At 4:45 p.m., the competition review committee announced the list of finalists.

On June 21, the final round of the competition will take place in the morning at the same venue, and an awards presentation will be held at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ, in the evening.
(Clearwisdom.net) The 3rd NTDTV Chinese International Vocal Competition completed its preliminary round in the Asia-Pacific Region on June 20 at the National University of Tainan.

The preliminary round of the competition was held at Tainun. Prior to the competition, the Taiwan Presidential Office sent a congratulatory letter to the competition organizing committee. The competition also received congratulatory flower baskets and couplets from elected officials from various levels.

Dr. Huang said that the first NTDTV Piano Competition was also held at the university, and she looked forward to future opportunities to work with NTDTV.

Professor Li said that the vocal competition is of great significance, and he encouraged his friends and teachers at his college to participate. He hoped that this competition would enhance Chinese people's understanding of the vocal performing arts.
Guimin Guan, an internationally acclaimed tenor and a judge of the competition, said that a goal of the competition was to facilitate a return to traditional culture. Chinese people in the past emphasized virtue more than technical skill. This competition similarly values personal cultural achievement rather than technical skill.

Mr. Guan said that a stage performance will reveal everything of a vocalist. "A vicious person will have such a look in his eye. A petty person will carry himself that way on stage. When a contestant is on stage, we can see into his or her heart. If a contestant is focused on nothing but winning, he or she will not devote themselves wholeheartedly to expressing the song itself. You will sense that right away."
Ms. Chen, an organizer for the event, said that the majority of the contestants are students from music departments at various universities. Some are music professors or instructors. While the competition took place at the busiest time for universities, many vocalists registered for this competition. "This is because they recognize and support the mission of this competition," said Ms. Chen.

After the preliminary round, 23 out of 46 vocalists were selected to participate in the semi-final round, which will take place in New York.
(Clearwisdom.net) The Awards Ceremony and Concert of the 2009 Asia Pacific Preliminaries of the Chinese International Vocal Competition were held on June 21 in southern Taiwan. Though there was a typhoon coming, all the tickets were sold out.

Hsu praised the competition for providing a platform for competitors to learn in ways of culture. He thanked NTDTV for hosting this competition and wished the winners the best of luck at the finals.

Lin Shu-Chen, Chief Executive Officer of the NTDTV Southern Taiwan Division, said that NTDTV provided a platform for promoting Eastern and Western traditional culture. Through the competition, people get to learn about good traditions. The competition also aims to help restore morality in modern society.
Many government officials of Tainan City and County attended the concert. Hsu approved of NTDTV's efforts in Taiwan to promote traditional Chinese culture in the past few years. "I thank NTDTV for holding such an international competition in the Culture Capital of Taiwan, the city of Tainan. It's a competition for us to learn from each other and enjoy a soul feast and sublimation."

(Clearwisdom.net) June 20 is World Refugee Day, and events were held by UN Refugee Agency offices around the world from June 18 to 20. This year's theme is "Real People, Real Need." On June 19, Falun Gong practitioners in Thailand were invited to the agency's Bangkok Center to perform.

Before the performance started, practitioners distributed hand-made lotus flowers and fans to those in the audience. The practitioners then performed a fairy dance, which gave the audience a taste of peace and serenity. When the practitioners displayed a "Falun Dafa Is Good" banner to conclude the dance, the audience applauded warmly. Following the dance, several practitioners demonstrated the five Falun Gong exercises, while another practitioner introduced the practice to the audience.
The practitioners also displayed a series of posters. Accompanied by the song "Coming for You," a practitioner told how Falun Gong has spread around the world and about the ongoing persecution in China. The 23-poster display consisted of three sections: the beauty of Falun Dafa, the spread of Falun Dafa around the world, and the brutal persecution in China. Some audience members were brought to tears as they learned more about the persecution.
(Clearwisdom.net) On June 20, Vancouver Falun Gong practitioners were invited to Langley's summer parade and warmly welcomed by the local residents. This was the third consecutive appearance for the practitioners at this annual celebration.

This summer parade in Langley has a history of over fifty years. Every year, local residents line the streets, waiting for the colorful parade procession. The Falun Gong group was the only predominantly Chinese group in the parade.
The practitioners presented a Divine Land Marching Band, a Heavenly Beauty Dancing Group, a Waist Drum Troupe, and a decorated float. Since many local residents already knew about Falun Gong, when the practitioners' procession passed by, many exclaimed: "Falun Gong!" and expressed their approval with their cheers or applause.
An elderly Chinese man from northwest China brought two nephews to see the parade. He was very happy to see Falun Gong there. Though he did not know much about the practice, he believes that Falun Gong is good and he doesn't believe in the Chinese Communist regime's propaganda against the practice. After talking with one of the practitioners, he decided to quit the Chinese Communist Party.
There were quite a few practitioners in their 60's or 70's in the parade. Each has gained a healthy body from the practice. They now travel to many cities to participate in community parades in order to help people know the beauty of Falun Dafa.
Practitioner Ms. Jing had just come from China one month before, and this was the third parade that she has participated in. On May 13, along with her sister and brother-in-law, she landed in Canada and immediately participated in the World Falun Dafa Day celebration held by Vancouver practitioners.
Ms. Jing said: "For practicing Falun Dafa, my sister and I were sentenced to prison for 13 years and my younger brother got 10 years. We were released when we were at the brink of death. Although we are in this free land, I cannot forget my fellow practitioners in China. I will work continuously to help them, as they are still being relentlessly persecuted."

(Clearwisdom.net) Personnel from the 610 Office, along with officers from the Domestic Security Division and the police station, seized Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Guifen from Changping District in Beijing on April 15, 2009. The captors took her under force to the Chaofeng'an Brainwashing Center and unlawfully detained her there for nearly fifty days. Ms. Wang Guifen was cruelly tortured and died on June 2, 2009.
Ms. Wang Guifen, who was about 55 years old, had practiced Falun Gong since 1995. She was committed to being a good person by following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, she was healthy and she had an optimistic and cheerful personality. Ms. Wang always took great pleasure in helping others. Everyone who knew her said that she was always considerate of others and was a very good person.
The Chinese communist regime's inception of a frenzied propaganda campaign to defame and slander Falun Gong, which began on July 20, 1999, deceived many people. They could no longer tell what was good and what was evil, so good people who followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance were repeatedly persecuted. Wang Guifen also lost her basic civil rights and was subjected to unlawful treatment, by means of a reduction in her salary, detention in a brainwashing center and being monitored by those who did not know the true facts about Falun Gong.
Wang Guifen was cooking at home on April 15, 2009 when officers from the Changping Police Department, the Domestic Security Division, the Machikou Police Station, along with agents from the local neighborhood committee came to her house and forcibly arrested her. As stated above, she ended up in the Chaofeng'an Brainwashing Center.

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Wu Shanhai was an elderly practitioner who lived in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Because he persisted in practicing Falun Gong, as well as clarifying the facts about Falun Gong, he was illegally incarcerated and tortured. One week after being released, on July 19, 2007, he died from the injuries resulting from torture.
In December 2001, Wuhan City police officers rushed into the residence of Wu Shanhai. They arrested him, ransacked his house and confiscated Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. Three days later, he was released on bail.
As Wu refused to give up his practice, when he was clarifying the truth to people in August 2006, he was arrested by plainclothes police. His house was then ransacked, he was detained for three months, and his pension payments were suspended. He suffered from physical, mental and emotional blows.
On July 10, 2007, Wu was exchanging experiences with a few practitioners in a park. He was followed by local police officers and once again arrested and taken to the police station on the grounds of "gathering to overthrow the government" and "colluding with overseas anti-China forces."
Three days later, the police ordered his family members to fetch him. At that time, Wu Shanhai's body was extremely weak and he could not eat. He had been tortured until he was on the brink of death. One week later, he passed away.
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Li Bo from Huludao City, Liaoning Province, died on May 9, 2009, at the age of 39 as a result of repeated harassment and persecution.
Ms. Li lived in Wujintang Village, Huangtukan Township, Nanpiao District, Huludao City, Liaoning Province. After she got married in 1990, she suffered from tuberculosis and hyperthyroid. She spent a lot of money for treatments, which caused tremendous financial hardship to the family. One day in the later half of 1997, a practitioner invited her to learn Falun Gong. She began to practice the exercises and her health improved with each passing day. The improvement of her health prompted her to ask her parents to learn Falun Gong. He parents' home became a practice site and the number of practitioners grew from 4 to over 20.
On July 20, 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party began to persecute Falun Gong, a dozen or so practitioners in the village were arrested and fined 500 yuan each. Ms. Li Bo went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong in 2000 and was intercepted in Jinzhou City. She was illegally arrested and taken to Nanpiao and was incarcerated in a detention center and forced labor camp for five and a half months. She was then ordered to be sent to the notorious Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, which refused to take her in because she failed to pass the medical examination. Therefore, she was taken back to Nanpiao. When her family learned about this, they bailed her out for medical treatment but had 2,000 yuan extorted from them.
After that, CCP officials went to her home to harass her on the so-called sensitive days. The local police chief changed very often, and each time they send police officers to practitioners' homes to harass them. Before and after the 2008 Beijing Olympics the police went to Ms. Li's home twice. Also during the CCP's two conferences in 2009: the National People's Congress and the national CCP conference.
On April 20, 2009, the head of the local police department and the director of the village security section ransacked Ms. Li's home and grabbed 8 copies of "Minghui Weekly," 9 VCDs, truth-clarification materials, one exercise cassette tape, as well as 7 bookmarks with the words "Falun Dafa Is Good" and "Zhen Shan Ren (Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance) is good" on them. The following day police officer Xu and the village security officials went to Ms. Li's home a second time. They did not leave until they found out that Ms. Li had been hospitalized.
The repeated harassments put Ms. Li Bo and her family under a lot of pressure. Ms. Li went to the hospital on April 12 and returned home on April 27. She passed away on May 9.
Mr. Li Daiquan, 56 years old, from the Nanpiao District passed away at home on March 20, 2009. On July 20, 1999, and March 13, 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. In the evening on June 24, 2001, he was arrested by the Shaguotun Township Police Station for writing "Falun Dafa is good" and locked up in a detention center. As a result, he was physically and mentally abused. After being released from the detention center, he wandered around to avoid being arrested again. He was sent home in November 2003 after suffering a stroke. He passed away on May 9, 2009.
(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Li Min, a Falun Gong practitioner who worked in the Hulan District Finance Bureau in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2005. While imprisoned, he was regularly tortured in Ward 7 of Daqing Prison, and his health deteriorated dramatically, causing symptoms of a stroke. In April 2009 his family members, who were there visiting him, asked that he be released for medical treatment, but the request was denied by the prison officials. Mr. Li died on May 23.
Mr. Li, 51, worked at the Finance Bureau in Hulan District. He began to cultivate in Falun Gong in 1998, and his health, moral character, and family life improved. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, he was arrested and put in a forced labor camp several times. In January 2001, he was ordered to serve time in a forced labor camp for a year by the Political and Security Department of the Hulan Police Department, and was jailed in the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp.
On March 10, 2005, when Mr. Li was at work at the Finance Bureau, Deputy Captain Lu Wenxue of the National Security Squadron of the Hulan District Police Department and others rushed into his office and arrested him. They also seized his cell phone and house key. With key in hand and accompanied by a dozen other police officers (among them Zhang Yaobin of Division VI of the Harbin Police Department and Wang Zhongqi, the head of the Guangming Police Station), they stormed into Mr. Li's home. They arrested his wife, Du Xiuzhe,n and seized their computer, printer, Dafa books, and truth clarification materials, as well as four to five thousand yuan in cash. The value of the items they took totaled over 20,000 yuan. After the arrest and seizure, officers Xu Xingwu, and Yan Tinghui from Hulan District National Security Squadron stayed behind for three more days, further ransacking and vandalizing Mr. Li's home.
A few hours after arresting Mr. Li and Ms. Du, they took them to a place where there was no sign or markings and entered through an iron gate. They handcuffed them in separate rooms and beat them. Mr. Li and his wife could hear each other's screams. Later they learned that they were in the so called Wuchang City "Transformation" School (brainwashing center). Fu Yanchun, the director, and four others--Yao Zhenshan, Zhu Xianfu, Han Guang, and Jing Ji--beat them nonstop for 24 hours, causing bruising all over Mr. Li's body. Fu Yanchun was the most brutal of the bunch. During the session, he called people at the Harbin Police Department, telling them that Mr. Li had attempted to commit suicide three times. The reason that they beat Mr. Li was to interrogate him and to try to force him to write a repentance statement.
Mr. Li and his wife were held and tortured for five and half months at the "Transformation" School, where no sign identified the place as an official institution. Fu Yanchun and others tortured Mr. Li for an extended period of time to try to force him to produce the so-called confession statements. They used all sorts of underhanded tactics to pressure and deceive Mr. Li, telling him that he would be released as long as he followed the orders of the Harbin Police Department to confess and tell them what they wanted to know.
In fact, the Wuchang City "Transformation" School was where the following corrupt officers used to extort money from practitioners: Fu Yanchun and Zhang Yaobin of Division 4 of the Harbin Police Department; Qi Jiamin, the director of Harbin City 610 Office; and Zhang Jinfeng, the head of the provincial 610 Office. Because Mr. Li worked at the Finance Bureau, they thought he must be rich, which led to the arrests of both Mr. Li and his wife and their subsequent persecution. Fu Yanchun often said to Mr. Li, "You can be released as long as you agree to pay."
Zhang Yaobin, Xing Jianwu, Wu Jian, and Li Shuxin from Division 4 of the Harbin Police Department visited the school in turn. Every time Zhang went, he pulled Mr. Li aside to talk with him privately. Actually what he did was to threaten and extort money from him. Qi Jiamin and Zhang Jinfeng went there twice. Both times they threatened and lied to Mr. Li, telling him that if he cooperated, they would help to get him released. The director, Fu Yanchun, called Mr. Li's son three times to tell him to go to the brainwashing center and discuss how he should arrange to give money to Zhang Yaobin, Qi Jiamin, and others and told him their phone numbers. In the end, Mr. Li did not give in to their demands, so they turned him and his wife over to the District.
Mr. Li explained to Zhao Guohua of the District Attorney's Office and Magistrate Gong Shili of the Court in Hulan District, when they took over the case, that his confession was coerced through torture and was untrue and that they should re-investigate the matter. Of course they did not. They accepted the existing "evidence" and sentenced the couple to eight years in prison.
Mr. Li was put in the group discipline team in Hulan Prison in August 2005 and was later transferred to Ward 7 of Daqing Prison. He was persecuted brutally by Daqing police officer Chang Min. They shackled him even when he was near death from the torture. The family's request for Mr. Li's immediate release for medical treatment was denied by the prison officials.
Mr. Li was transferred to Daqing Hospital in mid May 2009, and he passed away around 8:00 p.m. on May 23, 2009. Yet another crime committed by the CCP against Dafa practitioners.

(Clearwisdom.net) Since March 9, 2009, the police in Yuanjiang City, Hunan Province, have repeatedly arrested local Dafa practitioners and raided their homes. Practitioner Xiao Ruilin was sentenced to forced labor in 2002 and persecuted at Hunan Province Changsha Women's Prison for three years. After she had been released for less than a year, she was sent to Zhuzhou Forced Labor Camp in Hunan Province for a year. Several days after she was released, she was again arrested. Her whereabouts are now unknown.
Below are some facts detailing how Xiao Ruilin was persecuted in Changsha Women's Prison.
Around December 2003, Xiao Ruilin was sharing cultivation experiences with fellow practitioner He Lijia and reading Falun Dafa articles together. Guard Li Chunhui from the "transforming" team twice pushed Xiao Ruilin to the ground and tormented her with the torture method "carrying a sword on the back" in which the victim's hands are restraind behind the back with one hand over the shoulder and the other hand against the lower back. A great deal of force is then applied to pull the hands toward one another and they are then handcuffed together. He tortured her like this for nearly two hours. When they saw that she didn't collapse, they locked her up with her hands cuffed behind her back. She had to sleep on freezing concrete in extremely cold weather. For the first several days, at each meal she was only given an amount of rice smaller than an egg. She had to pull the thin quilt with her teeth to cover herself. The shackles were so tight on her swollen feet that blood and pus kept oozing out, and there were many blood blisters and pus in the infected area. She became only skin and bones.
Around September 2004, practitioners Xiao Ruilin, He Lijia, Yan Hong, Luo Aizhen, and some others, over twenty in total, were tortured by guards Xue Fang and Liu (both male) and others because they refused to squat with their hands covering their heads and call themselves criminals. Throughout the day, they were forced to jump like frogs and do long distance running and push-ups (at least two hundred each time and different sports alternately). At mid-day and during the night, they were forced to stand for a long period of time and recite the prison regulations. Each of them suffered excruciating pain from their very swollen legs. Anyone who took a rest would be shocked with an electric baton or hung up. Because Xiao Ruilin refused to recite the prison regulations, she was forced to stand for over forty days. This time when she was locked up in a secret room, criminal inmate Xiao Jiahua kicked and stepped on her. She was covered with bruises and injuries.
From 2000 to 2005, all steadfast Dafa practitioners detained in this dark prison had to work twice, three times, or four times as much as criminal inmates. Some of them had to work over twenty hours a day and were not allowed to sleep. Around March 2005, because Xiao Ruilin, Chen Chujun, Yan Hong, He Lijia, and Xuan Hehua recited Dafa articles together and went on strike to resist the persecution, Li Ling and some other guards and criminal inmates brutally tortured them for almost forty days. The practitioners endured different forms of torture, such as being beaten with electric baton, being shackled, being forced to sit on a single foot stool, being forced to stand for a long period of time, and being force-fed and confined in a solitary compartment. They were tortured from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., except when they went to the toilet three times a day in the morning, at lunch, and at night. They had to sit on the single foot stool even when they were having their meals. Xiao Ruilin fainted several times after being shocked by electric batons and hung up. She were subjected to force-feeding with a metal tube inserted into her throat, causing serious bleeding. Chen Chujun was dragged to the confinement room on the first floor from the fifth floor. Each of them was tormented till they were half dead and had become only skin and bone, but none of them gave in.
(Clearwisdom.net) Officers from Domestic Security of Shouguang City, Shandong Province arrested and extorted money from Ms. Zhang Yuexiang. After the incident was posted on the Internet (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2009/4/2/106141.html), the police became extremely angry. On March 16, 2009, officers from Domestic Security and Jitai Police Station arrested practitioners Ms. Zhang Yuexiang and Ms. Li Aihua. Ms. Zhang was detained at Shouguang Detention Center for one month before being transferred to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp to serve a one-year term. Ms. Li Aihua was also detained at the Shouguang Detention Center for thirteen days. During her detention, Ms. Li Aihua's lower back was injured from a beating while in custody. She was taken home by her family.
Originally Ms. Li was stopped by police while on her way to her parents' home. The police kicked and struck her repeatedly and shoved her into a police car. She was brought to a dark room. Ms. Li's husband went to Jitai Police Station to ask for her release; however, he was detained by the police. Officers from Domestic Security slapped him on his face more than twenty times. After being detained for more than five hours, Ms. Li's husband was finally released.
At Jitai Police Station, the officers from Domestic Security tortured Ms. Li for two consecutive days and nights. The police interrogated her using torture and tried to make her confess that she had posted the article about the police persecuting Ms. Zhang Yuexiang on the Internet. Ms. Li was forced to sit on a cement floor handcuffed to the arm of a chair. The officers hit her thighs with rubber batons, kicked her cheeks, stomped on her knees, slapped her face, threatened and tried to deceive her, and deprived her of sleep.
The torture caused Ms. Li to have a lumbar intervertebral disk protrusion (a disk in her lower back was protruding). Her head and face were swollen, her legs were black and blue and swollen, her body ached, and she was constipated. During her detention, Ms. Li had been taken to the hospital twice.

Gong flyers in Kaiyuan City at 11:00 p.m. on June 1, 2009. They are now held at
the Kaiyuan Detention Center.
4. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Geng Deliang and Wife Zhou Shuqin
Arrested
Fourteen officers from Benxi City Dongming Police Station broke into the
home of Mr. Geng Deliang and his wife, Zhou Shuqin, at 5:30 p.m. on April 24,
2009. The couple was arrested. The police confiscated computer(s), printer(s),
3,300 yuan in cash, a deposit slip for 2,000 yuan, three salary
books, IDs, numerous charge cards, Dafa books, and MP3 players, among other
things. The couple later returned home.
Officers from the Cuidong Police Station in Benxi City arrested practitioner Ms.
Huang Yaqin on the evening of April 24, 2009. They transported her to Masanjia
Forced Labor Camp at 7:30 p.m. on May 22, 2009.
5. [Hebei Province] Police Harass Mr. Wang Xuwei and Ms. Xu Chunlan at Their
Homes
A group of Party officials from the Baoding City 610 Office and
from the Rongcheng County Pingwang Township Police Station, including Cao Ruiyu,
harassed Mr. Wang Xuwei and Ms. Xu Chunlan at their homes on May 21, 2009.
Mr. Wang and Ms. Xu were previously incarcerated at forced labor camps in 2001
and 2002 respectively for their belief in Falun Gong. Since then, police have
harassed them frequently at their homes and places of work.
6. [Yi County, Hebei Province] Seven Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
During the afternoon of June 2, 2009, Yi County court officials in
Hebei Province upheld prison sentences of seven practitioners including Mr. Wang
Deqian and Mr. Li Baojin. Mr. Wang's four-year prison sentence is still in
effect; Mr. Li is sentenced to three years in prison.
7. [Guantao County, Hebei Province] Mr. Huang Yuchen Arrested
Mr. Huang Yuchen from Guantao County worked in Wuhu City, Anhui Province. He
was a passenger on the No. 1414 Train from Wuhu City to Beijing at 8:30 p.m. on
May 31, 2009. Four Anhui police officers arrested him on the train and took him
to the Hefei City Train Station Police Station in Anhui Province. They
confiscated 2,900 yuan in cash from him.

8. [Xishui County, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Wang Guihong Held in
Detention
Police arrested Ms. Wang Guihong from Xishui County in Beijing in 2008 when
she was telling people about Falun Gong. She is in the Inner Mongolia Forced
Labor Camp, where she is being savagely tortured. Her blood pressure is high and
she has also developed tumors.
9. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Sufen and Ms. Zhang Sujie
Arrested
Someone reported Ms. Zhang Sufen and her sister, Zhang Sujie, as they
spoke to people about Falun Gong. It happened in a village on the evening of May
30, 2009. Officers from the Qidashan Police Station arrested them and took them
to the Anshan No. 1 Detention Center.
10. [Beijing] The Persecution of Ms. Xu Jianmei
Ms. Xu Jianmei is being held in Section 10, Division 1 of the Beijing Women's
Forced Labor Camp and tortured for refusing to "reform." She has to
get up before 4:00 a.m. and is forbidden to sleep until after midnight. Drug
addict inmates withhold the majority of her food from her. Ms. Xu has to sit on
a small stool for extended periods of the day. Over time, her joints have
stiffened, making it difficult for her to walk. The guards refused to let her
wear additional clothing in the winter.
11. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ren Aihua Arrested
Yantai City 610 Office agents followed and arrested Ms. Ren Aihua as she
walked in the street. They subsequently ransacked her home and confiscated 2,600
yuan and personal items.
12. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Li Fengyou Arrested in Beijing
Recently, when Mr. Li Fengyou from Zhuhai City went to Beijing on business,
he faced arrest. As he showed his ID at a Beijing hotel at check-in, a group of
Beijing police arrived and arrested him and two of his non-practitioner
colleagues. The police released the two colleagues after extorting 30,000 yuan
from them.
Li Fengyou is a former Air Force regiment chief and was a commercial pilot with
China South Airlines. He was fired for practicing Falun Gong and sentenced to
five years in prison. Mr. Li has lived in exile since his release from prison.
13. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lian Bo Transferred to the Fujia
Detention Center
Domestic security agents arrested 28-year-old Ms. Lian Bo at her home in the
Zhangdian District of Zibo City on June 6, 2009. They held her in Group 5 at the
Liangxiang Criminal Police Division and moved her later to the Fujia Detention
Center.

Numerous practitioners from the Zhangdian District in Zibo City were
arrested between June 6 and June 8, 2009. They included Ms. Wang Xiuhong, Mr.

15. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Geng Huaipu Arrested Again by 610

Mr. Geng Huaipu from Xuzhou City was arrested in Tongling, Anhui Province,
on April 3, 2009. He is now held at an undisclosed location. He has been
arrested, detained, and held in labor camps many times before and lived away
from home for a long time.

Xindian Women's Forced Labor Camp
About 80 practitioners are currently being held in the Xindian Women's
Forced Labor Camp in Taiyuan City and are forced to do hard labor.
Guard Liu Zhongmei and others at this camp brutally tortured 47-year-old Ms. Li
Hong. They ordered drug addicts Chen Jie, Wang Qian, Zhao Lu, and others to
savagely beat her, severely injuring her chest, abdomen, legs, and other parts
of her body. They also deprived her of sleep for many days.
17. [Chongqing] Ms. Yang Deqiong Taken to a Forced Labor Camp
Local police arrested Ms. Yang Deqiong from Wenhua Town, Liangping County,
Chongqing, on May 18, 2009, while she worked at her noodle shop. The police
tried to coerce her to write a guarantee statement, but she refused.
They transported her to the Liangping County Detention Center and to a labor
camp in Shimashan, Chongqing, two weeks later.

Arrested
Ms. Yu Xiaohua and Ms. Hao Guiyun from Anda City were reported when talking
to people about Falun Gong in Wanbaoshan Town, Anda City, on June 7, 2009. The
local police arrested them.
19. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xian Arrested
The police arrested Ms. Xian, in her 40s, at her home in the Dadong District
of Shenyang City and ransacked her home on the afternoon of June 8, 2009. Her

20. [Huangmei County, Hubei Province] The Persecution of Ms. Li Rongzhen
68-year-old Ms. Li Rongzhen is a retiree from Huangmei Town. She was
reported in the market in September 2006 when she was talking to someone about
Falun Gong. Officers from Huangmei Town arrested her and took her to Huangmei
Town Police Station, where they took turns interrogating her and did not let her
sleep, use the restroom, or eat anything for three days and nights.
Three days later, the police took her to Huangmei County Detention Center. After
detaining her for 26 days, they took her to Huanggang City Brainwashing Center,
where they held her for more than 20 days. Collaborators attacked
and pressured her around the clock, and she fell ill and ran a fever. She was
emaciated when she returned home.
She and another practitioner were handing out Falun Gong materials in May 2008
when officers from Huangmei Town Police Station arrested them. They were taken
to Huangmei County Custody Center and held for two weeks.
21. [Shuangliu County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Lu Zufu Arrested
Mr. Lu Zufu, 58, from Shuangliu County was arrested on February 7, 2009. He
is now in the Shuangliu County Detention Center.
22. [Meishan, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wan Wu Arrested and Home Ransacked
Mr. Zhou, an employee of Meishan Machinery Factory in Sichuan Province,
found his home ransacked upon returning home after a night shift at 12:30 a.m.

Police officers from the Zhangdian District broke into Ms. Wang Xiuhong's
home on the evening of June 5, 2009, and arrested her and her husband. They took
many personal belongings.

26. [Yi County, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
The officials at Yi County Police Department in Hebei Province
illegally sentenced five practitioners to prison in August 2001.
Mr. Shi Wenshui was sentenced to nine years, and he is now in Jidong Prison in
Tangshan City, Hebei Province. He was a soldier and won a Second Merit Award
during a border war against the Vietnamese. He worked at West Beijing Station
after he retired from military service. His son has dropped out of school due to
his arrest, and his wife is supporting the family all by herself.
Mr. Zhang Changsheng was sentenced to ten years in prison and he is still in the
No. 4 Shijiazhuang Prison in Hebei Province.
Mr. Yan Hequan was sentenced to 11 years and is now in Baoding Prison in Hebei
Province. His two daughters both dropped out of school and started working after
his arrest, due to financial hardship.
Mr. Cao Xiaogang from Hujiazhuang Village, Hujiazhuang Township, Laishui County,
Hebei Province, was recently sentenced to 13 years in prison. He is now held at
Baoding Prison in Hebei Province. His wife is detained at a labor camp and their
son is also suffering persecution.
Mr. Zhang Dongsheng, an official with the Laishui County Tax Bureau in Hebei
Province, was sentenced to 15 years in prison and is still in the Shijiazhuang
No. 4 Prison. The guards knocked out six of his teeth and he is emaciated beyond
recognition. His wife, Liu Jinying, was sentenced to five years in prison. Their
daughter has been separated from her parents since she was in first grade. Mr.
Zhang's father passed away due to devastation and fear, and his mother, who is
paralyzed and bedridden, now has no one to care for her.
27. [Xichuan County, Henan Province] Mr. Lu Ziqi Arrested Again
Seven officials from Xichuan County Domestic Security Division, including
Wei Famin, Li Zhoujun, Zhou Wendang, and Chai Qinglin, arrested Mr. Lu Ziqi from
Xichuan County on May 19, 2009. He regained his freedom later the same day with
powerful righteous thoughts. Unfortunately, he was arrested again after about
two weeks when talking to people about Falun Gong. He is being held in the
Shangji Town Custody Center in Xichuan County.
28. [Chongqing] Ms. Yin Shizhen and Mr. Yang Jun's Homes Ransacked
The police ransacked the homes of Ms. Yin Shizhen and Mr. Yang Jun in
Jingkou, Shapingba District, Chongqing, in May 2009. Officers from Jingkou
Police Station constantly harassed them with phone calls.

29. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Mr. Li Zhenlin from the Heping District in Shenyang City was followed by
special agents when talking to people about Falun Gong inside Shenyang 81 Park.
Four agents ransacked his home and arrested him on the afternoon of May 28,
2009. Two other practitioners were arrested at the same time but their names are
unknown. They have been taken to Baitapu Detention Center in Shenyang City.
30. [Xintian County, Hunan Province] Mr. Luo Jinyu and Ms. Liu Tuxiu Arrested
Mr. Luo Jinyu and Ms. Liu Tuxiu went to a village and spoke to local
residents regarding the crimes of the Communist Party on June 6, 2009. A few
villagers and Party officials reported them to the township government. Officers
from Shizi Township Police Station arrested them and the two practitioners have
been taken to Xintian County Custody Center.
31. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Shuqin Suffers Nervous Breakdown
at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Zhao Shuqin from Boye County, Baoding City, was arrested before the 2008
Olympic Games and was later taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang
City, Liaoning Province. She refused to "reform" and consequently was
subjected to unknown barbaric tortures. She has suffered a nervous breakdown and
can no longer recognize people. Her family went to the labor camp twice to see
her but were turned away on both occasions.

32. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Latest Update on Mr. Wang Gang
Mr. Wang Gang from Zhuozhou, Baoding City, had both legs amputated after
being brutally tortured in Baoding Prison. He is now in Jidong Prison. Because
he is extremely weak, officials at Jidong Prison tried to send him home on May
31, 2009, on medical parole, but the local police refused to sign the necessary
documents. As a result, Mr. Wang was taken back to Jidong Prison the same day.
33. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fan Cuizhen Arrested at Home
Four plainclothes police officers arrested Ms. Fan Cuizhen at her home in
the Zhangdian District of Zibo City on June 7, 2009. They took her computer.
34. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Yu Meixiu Held Beyond Term
53-year-old Ms. Yu Meixiu from Hefei City is a retiree from Hefei City Car
Parts Factory. She was arrested by local police before the 2008 Olympic Games
and taken to Division 1 of Anhui Women's Forced Labor Camp, where she was
tortured with a strait jacket. As a result, she can no longer straighten her
back. Her illegal term expired on May 13, 2009, but she has not yet been
released.

Four police officers broke into Ms. Dong Haiqin's home in Gouzibei
Village, Baiqi Town, at 11 a.m. on June 7, 2009; they took one Dafa book and MP3
player(s) and arrested her. They took her to Nanshan Detention Center in Shulan
City.
36. [Chongqing] Mr. Liu Tianlin and Mr. Li Zhenghua Arrested
Mr. Liu Tianlin and Mr. Li Zhenghua, who is in his 50s, from the Jiangbei
District in Chongqing were arrested on the morning of June 4, 2009. Their
current whereabouts are unknown.
(Clearwisdom.net) My husband and I are both Falun Dafa practitioners. I had a difficult time in deciding to marry him after he proposed to me, as I felt that we were not compatible. I also felt that, from the perspective of everyday society, he was inferior to me in every way. After we got married, things were all right when my husband listened to me, but I felt resentful whenever he didn't listen to me.
A few years ago, I was resentful of my husband for an extended period of time. While asleep at night, I saw two dark minions coming to attack me. They stuck their long black claws into my legs. Being very scared, I cried out, "Master, save me!" and I was rescued. After I gave birth to our child, my mother-in-law, who is also a Falun Dafa practitioner, got involved with the family issues, and the conflict among the three of us became more intense. Since Master has made it clear that, for a cultivator, divorce is an omission in cultivation, I didn't dare to divorce, and thus maintained the marriage, but I didn't regard my husband as my husband, and I also intensely resented my mother-in-law.
Last month, I developed the symptoms of a cold with a runny nose. I knew I had not done well and the old forces were taking advantage of my omission to persecute me. I looked inside and found many attachments. However, the sickness karma symptoms didn't improve. I couldn't seem to find the fundamental attachment. I was quite puzzled, as I could not pinpoint the problem.
A few days ago, when I was reading "Teaching the Fa at the Founding Ceremony of the Singaporean Falun Dafa Association," a paragraph suddenly caught my attention. Master said,
"All humans create karma. Some people have taken lives, offended others, sworn at others, hated someone, done something bad, and so on--all of which result in karma. It is a black substance, and it exists around the human body. It determines when a person will suffer and fall ill, or encounter trouble, or fail in business, or be assaulted or cursed at by others, or many, many other types of suffering. All of these are caused by karma."
For the first time I realized, just like assaulting or swearing at others, hatred also creates karma.
Master said,
"By contrast when a person is in a calm state, he is good, and that in fact is the true state of a human being." ("Teaching the Fa at the Meeting on Writing Music")
"If both of you could let go of self and cultivate well and not have such a strong sense of self, then could you not handle those things well, given that both the husband and wife are Dafa disciples?"
"When both of you are cultivators you should each be considerate of one another, and with that how could you talk about divorce? Marriage should be something unbreakable." ("Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students")
When I had a clear understanding of the Fa principle, I felt that many of the filthy substances in my field were suddenly removed, and my mind then became open. My husband and mother-in-law are both my fellow practitioners. Master said that everyone in the world was once his family member. How could I be so unkind as to resent them? The fundamental reason was selfishness. Once I understood that hatred also creates karma, I dug out the attachment of resentment, and the cold symptoms and runny nose also went away.

(Clearwisdom.net) In 2000, I was reported by a fellow practitioner and then arrested and illegally detained in a detention center. The excuse for the arrest was an "illegal gathering." The so-called "illegal gathering" was quite simple---on New Year's Eve I went out to visit a fellow practitioner and shared cultivation experiences with a few practitioners for an hour. One of them was arrested for some other reason. Then, due to the attachment of fear, he reported me and other practitioners. He was then released on bail.
I was interrogated after the arrest. The questions they asked me were very simple, such as: "What are the names of the practitioners who attended the 'illegal gathering?'" I told the police, "They are good people. They only want to practice Falun Gong and did not do anything wrong. It's impossible for you to make me tell you about them--I won't get any other practitioners involved. Besides, I did not commit any crime, so why are you illegally detaining me?" One policeman said, "Someone reported you to us. If he did not tell us about you, how could we have known to detain you?" I replied, "Then if I tell you about the other practitioners, won't you also detain them? I am telling you the truth: I will never do such a thing!"
They repeatedly interrogated me and warned me of the consequences if I refused to talk. I told them that I would tell them all about myself, since I did not commit any crime and I had nothing to be afraid of. But I would not tell them anything about the other practitioners, and they would not get anything from me!
I had built a solid foundation through Fa-study, so my mind was very clear at that time and I knew the seriousness of cultivation. I thought of what Master said:
"Only at the critical moment can we see his heart. If he doesn't let go of certain attachments he might even dare to betray a Buddha--could this be a minor problem?" ( "Huge Exposure" from Essentials for Further Advancement )
"People are held accountable for everything they do. Don't think that [it doesn't count] because you were passive or were just talking irresponsibly, or that you merely said or did something under pressure, or that you were controlled by evil--it doesn't matter. None of that can be an excuse." "Teaching the Fa at the Conference in the Midwest-U.S.", June 26, 1999, Chicago)
I also thought of what Master taught in Lecture Four of Zhuan Falun:
"You should always be benevolent and kind to others, and consider others when doing anything. Whenever you encounter a problem, you should first consider whether others can put up with this matter or if it will hurt anyone. In doing so, there will not be any problems. Therefore, in cultivation practice you should follow a higher and higher standard for yourself."
Therefore, from the very beginning, I held onto a basic principle that I would never betray any Dafa disciples.
Finally, the period of my being repeatedly interrogated passed by. Of course, writing about that time is easy, but the actual detention was really quite difficult for me. However, I held onto my firm belief and never gave up when coping with the evils. I never betrayed or reported any Dafa disciples.
Although there was no solid evidence to sentence me, they were afraid of my firm belief in Dafa. They regarded me as a good example of a Falun Gong practitioner and, therefore, a key target to strike. However I did not give in to them, and I studied law in the detention center. Later on, in court, I defended myself in a dignified and upright manner, and I exposed the illegal acts of the policemen.
The practitioner who reported me to the police was also present in the court. Although he cooperated with the evil and betrayed other practitioners and me, the authorities did not release him as promised. During the session in the afternoon, his defense attorney showed his "Statement of Quitting Practicing Falun Gong", and requested that the court free him of criminal responsibility after emphasizing his attitude of regretting practicing Falun Gong.
In order to protect my fellow practitioners and avoid further loss to them, I would not cooperate with the court and I was illegally sentenced to several years' imprisonment. I never regretted this action. After I was put in prison, I never relaxed my vigilance. On the one hand, I firmly safeguarded Dafa. On the other hand, I also tried to save the officials and guards there by clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to them. I also did what Dafa disciples should do and improved my xinxing in the difficult environment.
The practitioner who had reported and betrayed other practitioners was also sentenced to be imprisoned, but later on he was released on probation. Although he betrayed me and caused serious consequences for me, I did not hate him and I even showed sympathy to him. How could a person doing cultivation find fault? Even though he had not acted correctly, he had a human body and had already obtained Dafa. Even if he had made a huge mistake, he could still correct himself and make up the loss to Dafa. Unfortunately he chose a path that he was not supposed to take--- to depart from Dafa! Thus a tragedy happened.
Several years later, I was released from the jail and heard several stories:
A practitioner who lived near my previous home told me that before I was detained, practitioners were incessantly arrested. The reason was that previously arrested practitioners betrayed and reported other practitioners that they knew, and this phenomenon continued until I was arrested. For a long time after I was arrested, no other practitioners were reported and arrested.
Once, I met another practitioner on a bus. He told me that he had been detained at a brainwashing class held by the local 610 Office. Whenever the practitioners inside that brainwashing class didn't behave as Dafa disciples, the policemen there would mention me to them. The policemen there said to them, "How can you all be counted as Dafa disciples? Now that practitioner (referring to me), he is a genuine practitioner." The practitioner on the bus said to me, "We could sense that the police officers and judicial officers in court all admired you in their hearts. This story revealed that once a Dafa practitioner behaves like a genuine practitioner, everyone will truly respect him.
As for that practitioner who betrayed and reported me and other practitioners, although he was no longer detained in prison, after he was released on bail, he was always in low spirits. He never publicized a "Solemn Declaration" to resume his cultivation in Dafa. One year later, he suddenly died. Even though I know that to cultivate in Dafa is the most serious thing in the world, when I heard of what happened to him, I was still a little astonished. I remembered that Master taught us:
"It's because you practice cultivation in the upright Fa that you have escaped the karma you owed in your previous lives. Once you are reduced to the level of an everyday person, no one will protect you and demons will also take your life." ("Dafa Can Never be Plagiarized" from Essentials for Further Advancement )
"It's not that Master is not merciful--in the Fa-rectification all beings choose their own path." ("A Suggestion" from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
I realized that practitioners who haven't done well in the past should reflect on themselves and fully understand that cultivation in Dafa is serious. They should realize the great importance of this problem and review the paths that they have taken with all due seriousness. If they have done something wrong, they should correct themselves quickly. If they have caused any losses for Dafa or fellow practitioners, they should try their best to make it up. Remember, all the deities are watching us. When the time is up and you find that you cannot reach Consummation, you will regret it deeply! Even if you have done something very wrong, you can restore your heart and firm belief in Dafa; otherwise the consequences will be terrible.

(Clearwisdom.net) At the final stage of Fa-rectification, genuine Falun Dafa practitioners are all diligent, looking inwards, doing the three things well, and doing their best to fulfill their own responsibilities. However, I would like to relate several incidents, as encouragement to fellow practitioners that only read at home and do not come out to do the three things.
A man that used to practice lives near my home. Before his retirement, he always exchanged views with young colleagues and fellow practitioners. He also took and read Teacher's new articles, the "Minghui Weekly," booklets, and all sorts of truth-clarification materials. After he retired, he took another job as a security guard in the city, where the work environment favored his practice very much. After July 20, 1999, he had not dared to practice the exercises at home. However, since he had a job working at night, he was able to practice the exercises and study the Fa, as well as go out to hand out materials. He thought that Teacher had arranged this practice environment for him and that he had to cherish it, but then he decided he had gotten it with the help of his relatives. Later he had a grandson, became busy at work and with housework, and no longer paid much attention to practice. He stopped picking up and reading different materials, and he slowly left the practice environment and moved back home. Sometimes he came to look at his vegetable garden but did not pick up any materials. I met him once and asked about him, but he seemed to be afraid others would see him, so he said a few simple words and left in a hurry. Since I had been arrested by the police during that time, he said a few things that came from his enlightenment on an evil path. I was really sad when I watched him walk away.
Then he developed illness karma but still did not enlighten, and as a result he went to the hospital, which meant that he already led the life of an average man! He was not the only practitioner who was afraid of taking materials. How worried Teacher must be!
I know another practitioner that often comes out to clarify the truth. I want to tell about her in hopes that those practitioners who are staying at home and are unable to step out will study the Fa more and will use their wisdom given by Teacher to tell the truth, and distribute materials. It is really not difficult; the key is whether they have the heart and wish to do so.
When I went to this practitioner's home, she told me about the many miracles that occurred when she distributed truth-clarification materials. One night at about 3 a.m., she carried a big bag of materials and went to the neighboring countryside on her bike. She left materials at several homes, and it was relatively quiet. When she went into the village, she saw a group of teenagers playing hide-and-seek. She wondered: "It is already 3 a.m. How come so many children are not asleep and are running around? What do I do?" She originally had planned to go home after handing out all the materials. For safety reasons, she thought that she would just go again the next night. She was about to turn back, when, after only a few steps, she felt that it was not right, and thought: "Haven't I come in vain tonight? No, people here are waiting for me to save them. This must be an illusion, and I do not acknowledge the old forces' arrangements." As soon as she had this thought, she looked back and noticed that all the children were gone and it was very quiet in the village. She felt warmth in her heart and knew that Teacher had helped her, so she quickly left materials at every household, until all of them were gone. After she returned home, she recalled her point of view in distributing materials: the first one was caused by her fear, and the latter one was a practitioner's righteous thoughts.
One time when she distributed materials in her village, her husband, who cares about her, quietly followed her when she went out. When she noticed him, she kept going, although she noticed that he had stopped and was looking around in all directions. In the center of the village, the dogs in every home suddenly started to bark wildly, but she kept distributing materials while sending forth righteous thoughts. She thought: "I must finish distributing these materials." Regardless of how much the dogs barked, she distributed materials until they were gone. She returned home, and her husband said: "You are back. It is strange. As soon as you left, I followed you, but I could not see you out there. I looked everywhere, but I did not see you--you walked so fast." Only then did she understand why her husband had looked in all directions--it was because he could not see her, but she could see him. She knew Teacher had helped her. She was very stable and pure at that time, did not have any bad thoughts or human notions, and only wanted to save people. The following day, people in her village talked with the materials in their hands. One said, "I heard dogs barking wildly last night. I feared it was a thief, but when I opened the window, I saw nobody." Another one said, "I also came out to look, but saw nothing." Still another one said, "I saw three people passing by my home, one man pushing a bike, and two women walking together." When this practitioner heard them, she again experienced that Teacher was beside her and had protected her.
I hope this practitioner's miraculous experiences encourage other practitioners who have not come forward, because time waits for no one. We are practicing such a universal Dafa, which does not appear in thousands of years, even ten thousand years. From Teacher's lectures, we also know that the Fa-rectification process has come to its final stage. There is not much time left: what attachments can't we let go of? If we do not grasp it now, when we lose this opportunity, regrets will be useless. Fellow practitioners, let's strive forward together! Do not be idle again, do not be numb, do not wait for anything, and quickly awaken! Solidly study the Fa well, improve, and do the three things well. Let's honor our great wish to come here. Please treasure and grasp the final opportunity and move fearlessly ahead!
(Clearwisdom.net) It has been three months since fellow practitioner Zhong Kai, who was 32 years old, left us. His young, handsome face still clearly appears before me now and then. Such a good young man, such a good practitioners' short young life was ended by the persecution!
As I recall, I met Zhong Kai for the first time in Xinjiang Province's Changji Forced Labor Camp, where at that time many practitioners were detained. Every day, we were forced to knit flowers on wool sweaters for as long as twenty hours a day. Those who did not finish their assignment were attacked by guards and team leaders with electric batons or bricks; their horrible screams were frequently heard from outside--it was just like a dungeon of devils.
Zhong Kai was a junior at Xinjiang Petroleum College. For appealing on behalf of Falun Gong in Beijing, he was taken to a forced labor camp for two years. Even though Zhong Kai didn't talk much most of time, one could tell from his faithful look that he was a solid Dafa practitioner with compassion. Both of his parents had passed away and he had been living with his elder sister who was also at a forced labor camp for practicing Falun Gong. Life for him was tough and simple. Even in this awful situation, whenever there was a newcomer who needed some daily item, he would invariably offer to help. For this reason, everyone, including those who helped guards persecute Dafa practitioners in the labor camp, respected him.
During 2002, when all the practitioners in the forced labor camp took concerted action against the persecution, slave labor, and wearing prison uniforms, Zhong Kai and a few other practitioners went on a hunger strike. This led to brutal forced feeding by inmates. I saw him about two weeks later, and he looked like a skeleton with his hollow face. He needed to be supported on either side to walk, but his eyes still remained firm and bright. Because of practitioners' protests and obvious disregard for the consequences, the forced labor camp finally conceded that practitioners were allowed to not take part in any slave labor activities. Thus, the evil environment in the labor camp somewhat improved.
Since Zhong Kai had studied the Fa well, he was able to recite most of Teacher's Fa lectures from memory. The labor camp had practitioners under tight control--two inmates were assigned to strictly monitor each practitioner, not allowing them to get in touch with or talk with each other. But with strong righteous thoughts against the persecution, we practitioners were gradually able to break through this prohibition and to converse with one another. When I got in touch with Zhong Kai, I learned from him to recite many of Teacher's Fa lectures. Based on what I had in mind about Dafa, I was able to endure those tough times. While we were together, we mutually encouraged each other to keep a steadfast and upright belief in Dafa and shared on the Fa's principles. We had a mutual hope that when we got out of the labor camp, we were going to cultivate Dafa and save sentient beings together.
After leaving Changji Forced Labor Camp, because of the critical persecution situation in China, we were unable to get in touch with each other. I firmly believed that Zhong Kai would walk on the path, as he did before, of Fa-rectification, whereas I myself would solidly take part in the mainstream of assisting Teacher's Fa-rectification.
A little while back, I read a report on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website that Zhong Kai was persecuted to death in Beiye Prison in Xijiang Province. Upon learning the bad news, I was shocked and sad. Each and every scene of Zhong Kai, with his kind and familiar face, appeared before me for a long time.
Zhong Kai, please walk well on your way! We will carry on your unfinished will and wish! A bright future is not far from us!
(Clearwisdom.net) When my parents came to live with me, my 76-year-old father unexpectedly came down with pneumonia. Because we had to work, my 72-year-old mother was the only one who could care for my father. She was always busy going back and forth between the hospital and home. On the third day of my father's hospitalization, my mother began coughing. But her only concern was for my father. She thought that she would be well after taking some medicine, so she took a variety of antibiotics. Although she knew well that too many antibiotics would do harm to her health, she kept increasing the dosage. However, her cough got even worse, especially at night. She could not sleep for nearly a week. Some family members wanted her to have an X-ray, but she was too worried about my father to go. On top of that, she feared that the medical expenses would be too high. So, no matter how hard we tried to convince her to have an examination, she simply did not want to.
I had given my mother an amulet(1), which she always kept in her pocket. However, when I asked her to recite its inscription, "Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good" and told her that these few words could save her life she was skeptical. She never took the amulet seriously. Five days ago, my four-year-old daughter insisted that my mother say, "Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good" three times before she went to sleep. My mother had no other option and reluctantly said it three times. The following day she still coughed. My daughter asked with confusion, "Why is my grandmother still coughing?" I answered, "She must recite it with sincerity."
My daughter was watching Ms. Huang Biru's sing in the 2009 Shen Yun show when my mother came home from the hospital. My mother sat on the sofa and watched the show. She loves listening to music and watching dance performances. She was attracted by the performance and said, "The show is beautiful. Where are the performers from?" After she watched one VCD, she went to sleep because she had to go to the hospital early the following morning.
The following day my mother told me happily, "I am now well. I haven't coughed since last night. Isn't it miraculous?"
Seeing my mother restored to health, I said happily, "It's because of the Shen Yun show." My mother nodded, smilingly. In the evening of that day, soon after she got back home, my mother eagerly watched the Shen Yun show again. As she was watching, she could not help but praise the high caliber performances, especially "Forsythia in Spring." Applause followed every performance. She said, "These performances are so great. The songs are melodious and the performers are beautiful. Do you have any other good things to show me? Show me quickly, I love your show."
I put some music composed by Dafa practitioners in an MP3 player. My mother listened to it joyfully. On the following morning, she asked me, "Didn't you tell me that you have the VCDs of the show for last year and the year before last? Why haven't you shown them to me?"
My mother's words reminded me of something that happened in 2004, when my parents urged me to quit cultivation practice. Fierce conflicts broke out between my parents and me. I tried to convince them that Falun Dafa is good. They knew they couldn't force me to renounce Falun Dafa, but they were confused by the Chinese Communist Party' s slander and could not distinguish between the lies propagated by the party and the truth. Experience from previous political movements had taught them to believe in nothing, say nothing, see nothing, and participate in nothing. That was the only way to survive in China. Therefore, a few years ago when I asked them to watch the Shen Yun show VCD, they refused to watch or listen when they heard the words Falun Gong. I sincerely hope that those who think like my parents quickly watch the Shen Yun show and learn the truth about Falun Dafa. It will be a blessing for them and their families.
In fact, many people around me have received blessings after watching the Shen Yun show. After watching it, the wife of a general director said, "It is so wonderful." Then she gave the VCD to her elder sister's family to watch. I told her watch it without any preconceived notions, then ponder the lyrics of the eight songs: Why can people be human beings? Where will they go? She said that she used to think about these things when she was little. Later, when I saw her again, she told me that she wanted to start practicing Falun Gong.

Good fortune comes to people with a compassionate heart
A practitioner often "clarified the truth" to a young lady so she would remember that Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good, Falun Dafa is good, and that good fortune comes to people with a compassionate heart.
This lady planted mushrooms on an acre of land. When she went to pick the mushrooms, she found that the mushrooms were covered in a thick layer of aphids. She thought to herself, "It is difficult for our farmers to make a living. I invested 5,000 to 6,000 yuan for the mushrooms. What will happen if I lose the whole crop to insects?"
Her neighbor told her to spray the mushrooms with an insecticide. She went home and thought about it. Then she discussed it with her husband, "We cannot spray insecticide because it is poison. It may harm the people who eat the mushrooms and may even cause death!"
When she next looked at the field of mushrooms, a miracle had happened. She could not believe her eyes. All of the aphids had disappeared. The mushrooms were healthy and thick. That year, she made over 10,000 yuan after paying the overhead costs. She did not make any less than in past years.
"Everyone in our village believes that Falun Dafa is good"
Two practitioners went to a village to explain the truth about Falun Gong and encourage people to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They came across a farmer on his way to spread fertilizer. They greeted him, "Uncle, take a break so we can have a chat." When they mentioned Falun Gong and withdrawing from the CCP, he said, "Everyone in our village believes that Falun Dafa is good. The local practitioner often clarified the truth to us."
In the fall, an older person in that village was burning the dried corn stalks. It was windy that day and he was working near a hill. The fire started to spread towards the hill. He tried to put it out but couldn't get it under control. He remembered that practitioners told him to shout "Falun Dafa is good" if he found himself in an urgent situation. He then sat down and shouted, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance is good! Falun Dafa is good!" Miraculously, the fire immediately turned in another direction; and a disaster was avoided.
He told us that he had joined the Young Pioneers when he was young. He said, "Please help me to withdraw from it." He also asked for an amulet(1) while saying, "Falun Dafa is good."
Shen Yun performance is miraculous
My sister-in-law is a farmer from Xincheng Wangguang Village in Huludao City, Liaoning Province. She is 73. In January she developed a low grade fever and sweating. The doctor told her that she had a lung disease. After hospitalization and treatment, she no longer had the fever. She still felt fatigued and had to lie down a lot. She thought to herself that she must have some kind of incurable disease. In fact, the x-rays had shown a mass in one lung. The tumor specialist at Jinzhou Hospital had suggested that she go to another hospital for tests and to have the diagnosis confirmed. Her family had not told her any of this.
On May 1, I gave her the "2009 Shen Yun Gala" DVD and we watched it together. After watching the show, she felt very comfortable and light. When I was ready to leave two hours later, she easily walked me to the door. She told me that she had not walked that far in a long time.
Since then, she often watches the Shen Yun Gala. Now she can cook for her family and do some of the housework. Today she even rode the public bus to Xing Cheng Haikou Village to visit her second daughter.
Shen Yun is indeed miraculous!

(Clearwisdom.net) CCTV's leading news anchor Luo Jing died of cancer on June 5, 2009, at the age of 48. CCTV even produced a special TV program commemorating Luo, who used to report fabricated news for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). CCP followers should learn a lesson from Luo's death and choose a bright path for themselves.
After the CCP launched the vicious persecution campaign against Falun Dafa practitioners on July 20, 1999, Luo Jing was the CCP's megaphone. Luo Jing acted against his own conscience and regularly reported fabricated news about Falun Dafa. As a news anchor with an influential image, his words were especially damaging to Falun Dafa. Luo Jing slandered Falun Dafa and then developed lymphoma. He also suffered ulceration of the mouth and tongue, which caused him excruciating pain and prevented him from talking. According to Luo's nurse, Xing Cuizhi, Luo was in such awful pain that he would grimace whenever he took a sip of water, so she let him gargle with an anesthetic before he took medicine or ate.
Luo died on the day after the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Massacre. He also reported falsified news about the Tiananmen Massacre 20 years ago, so perhaps those innocent students who died tragically in the Square came back to claim his life.
In fact, in addition to Luo, there are many other prominent figures who have also received karmic retribution. Chen Mang, the producer of the CCTV's documentary on the so-called "Tiananmen Self-Immolation," died on December 23, 2008. Song Pingshun, a Party secretary in Tianjin City who initiated the Tianjin incident which led to the large-scale appeal by Falun Dafa practitioners on April 25, 1999, committed suicide. Hung Ju, the person who assisted Jiang Zemin in persecuting Falun Dafa and used one fourth of China's national treasury to sustain the persecution, also died of cancer. Liu Jing, the director of China's Gestapo-like 610 Office, was diagnosed with cancer and is waiting to die.
Those who have done evil deeds will be punished by Heaven even if the populace does nothing about it. It appears that Heaven's punishment is getting closer to the evil power's headquarters. Throughout China there have been case after case of this kind of retribution.
Ren Changxia was a CCP follower that actively participated in the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. She sat in the safest seat in a car right before the car was in an accident. Other passengers in the car were all right, but she was killed after she was ejected from the car. Her husband died from a stroke several years later, leaving their son with no parents.
He Xuejian was an officer with the Dongchenfang Police Station in Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province. He raped two female practitioners who were about the same age as his mother. Soon after that he was sentenced to 8 years in prison. While in prison, he was diagnosed with cancer of the penis and underwent surgery to remove his penis and testicles. He tried to commit suicide three times but he was not successful.
Wang Rongsheng, formerly Deputy Chief of the 610 Office in Jiangsu Province and Deputy Chief of the provincial Public Security Bureau, followed Jiang Zemin to actively persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. He was praised and recognized by Luo Gan and was later promoted to Director of the Justice Department in Jiangsu Province. He was diagnosed with leukemia soon after he took his post.
Yang Dacai, a director of the 610 Office in Fengjie County, Chongqing City, actively and consistently participated in the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. He died of a sudden illness in November of 2006.
Zhang Shiming, the first director of the 610 Office in Huanggang City, Hubei Province, died suddenly from a heart attack. His successor, Wang Kewu, died from liver cancer in the spring of the following year (2005). Afterwards, officials in the city who were aware of what happened to them refused to fill the position.
There are so many cases of people who have taken part in persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners and later received karmic retribution. We don't want to see this continue. We hope the precious Chinese people will understand the truth and stop going against their own conscience in following the orders of the CCP to persecute Falun Dafa. That good is rewarded and evil is met with retribution is a heavenly principle that will forever remain unchanged. Heaven will soon eliminate the CCP. We hope that those who have committed crimes against practitioners stop doing bad deeds and try to do something within their power to make up for what they have done in the past. The deaths of Luo Jing, Chen Mang, Song Pingshun, Huang Ju, He Xuejiang, and so on were warnings from Heaven.
