Distributing Shen Yun DVDs with a Benevolent Heart

Each year when I make Shen Yun DVDs, most of the time the first round of DVDs that I make is reserved by my colleagues and friends. After that I am able to distribute Shen Yun DVDs to the public. When I first distributed DVDs, I didn't do so in a face-to-face manner. I mainly distributed the DVDs in city districts, townships, or villages by delivering them to mailboxes or doors. Now thinking back, I still had an attachment of being afraid. Master might have seen my attachment and arranged several situations for me to see or hear fellow practitioners and how they used their pure and selfless hearts in distributing Shen Yun DVDs, thus giving me some encouragement.

One encounter gave me a lot to think about. Once I carried nearly thirty Shen Yun DVDs and went to a small district to distribute them. When I was ready to leave the DVD in a resident's mailbox, the door opened and a middle-aged man came out and saw me holding the DVD in my hand. He looked at me and said, "Is that a Falun Gong DVD? I like watching them very much. Please let me have it!" He spoke in a very peaceful voice and it seemed that he had been waiting there for a long time.

When he reached out to receive the DVD, I briefly explained, "This is a Shen Yun Performing Arts show. It is a popular show abroad. Its content is very pure and kind. A lot of people in many places are watching this show."

He said, "I heard about it. But I have not seen it before. Now I will be able to watch it. Thank you!"

Then he continued, "Falun Gong's materials talk about teaching people to be kind and do righteous things. Therefore I like to read those materials and I value the information. Each time, after reading those materials, I give them to other people. The labels of some of the truth-clarification CDs have come off or become blurry, so I use a marker and write the name and then give them to more people. In fact, many people look forward to reading these truth-clarification materials. Because there are so many fake things out there, it is quite hard to get something genuine and beneficial."

I felt that now more and more people know the truth. I had not distributed those materials in a face-to-face manner. Instead, ordinary people had to ask me to give them truth-clarification materials. During this process, it was my own attachment that blocked me and thus I didn't do things in a righteous manner. Master was using this event to give me a hint to quickly let go of myself, cultivate myself and remove human attachments. I should step out and distribute Shen Yun DVDs in a face-to-face manner and clarify the truth to save people, and do these things in a more steadfast way. Thus, now every time when I go somewhere to distribute Shen Yun DVDs, no matter whether it is going to a building, on the street, or using another method, I can have a benevolent heart and peacefully do it and try to save more people.

Of course, when I began distributing Shen Yun DVDs personally, sometimes I met people who did not want one. But later, when I thought about it, most of the time it was related to myself not introducing the DVD's content in a correct manner. For instance, when people heard first that it was a show, they might immediately think of the poor-quality propaganda shows from the evil party, and they might feel sick of that. Therefore, now, when I distribute Shen Yun DVDs, normally I immediately say, "This is a Shen Yun Performing Arts show from abroad. It contains a lot of information and it is very pure. It is an excellent masterpiece from the Shen Yun Performing Arts company overseas. During an international tour, the Shen Yun Performing Arts show received many warm welcomes. It is really outstanding. Many people have benefited from watching it." After hearing these words, people often want to watch the Shen Yun Performing Arts show. After receiving their DVDs, most people happily say, "Thank you!"

In "Fa Teaching at the U.S. Capital" on July 22, 2007, Master said,

"Aside from what you as individuals need to go through and establish on your final road to Consummation, what is most is important for you and most significant right now is to save people."

In the final step of our cultivation way, we must value our time and opportunity, fulfill our ancient vows and mission, and be worthy of our role as Dafa disciples. Let's be more compassionate when saving people and promote the Shen Yun Performing Arts show to save more and more people.
