(Clearwisdom.net) I was diagnosed with cancer in 1997 and underwent ineffective medical treatments. Consequently, I was very frustrated and did not know when I might die--perhaps in a year, or perhaps sooner. Afterwards, I started practicing Falun Dafa on a friend's recommendation. I was delighted because I could find something to do while going through a very difficult time, and at the same time I could also strengthen my immune system. This is how I started on the path of cultivation.
Through studying the book Zhuan Falun, I understood that the fundamental cause of my suffering illness and tribulation was because of the karma I had accumulated in my many previous lives, and that I developed karma because I had committed bad deeds before. I realized that Falun Dafa is a practice that cultivates both the mind and the body, and Teacher would purify our bodies in the course of cultivation and also eliminate our karma at different cultivation levels in a way that enables us to cultivate to high levels.
After starting to practice Falun Dafa, my body went through dramatic changes. It was just like what Teacher said in Zhuan Falun, "You feel as if being pushed while riding a bike, and you are not tired when going upstairs."(Zhuan Falun) Teacher has eliminated my karma for me many times. Once I had a temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit, I developed red patches on my skin from my waist down to my knees, and I could not walk steadily. All of these symptoms disappeared completely after seven days. I clearly understood that Teacher was eliminating the karma I had accumulated in my previous lives. I maintained my xinxing and persisted in going to a practice site to practice the Falun Dafa exercises. I went to work during the day and persisted in joining group Fa-study at night. I made it through. My colleagues thought my story was incredible. I experienced this kind of elimination of karma four times, every other month. My symptoms became less severe, and the last time it happened, it only lasted for two days. I have been cultivating in Falun Dafa for eleven years now and I have not spent a dime on medicine. This fully demonstrates the power of Dafa. It is our great Teacher and the great Dafa that have given me my second life.
The Chinese Communist Party's regime started the persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners on July 20, 1999. Since then I have gone through both good times and bad on my cultivation path. I was once detained by the evil forces. Through studying the Fa, I decided to validate the Fa and clarify the truth using the changes I experienced in my health as a first-hand example of the goodness of Dafa.
Because of my work, I know a lot of people, and many of them knew that I used to have cancer. Some of them even thought that I had died after not seeing me for a long time. They could not believe their eyes when they saw me, and they would ask me questions. So I took the opportunity to tell them that it was because of Falun Dafa that I could have a healthy body today, or else I would have had to bid farewell to them. I then told them about the benefits of practicing Falun Dafa, and also told them about the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brutal persecution against Falun Dafa, the truth about the so-called self-immolation in Tiananmen Square, and the wide spread of Dafa around the world.
Wherever I went, whenever someone made comments or praised my health or my youthful appearance, I seized the chance to advocate for the Fa and clarify the truth. After listening to my explanations, many people had a change of heart. Many could understand and accept Falun Dafa, and would accept my truth-clarification materials. Some of them have already taken the path of cultivation and some of them have withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations. In fact, I know very well that it was Teacher who has done all this, and it is Teacher who has given me the wisdom to clarify the truth effectively.
These are just some of my cultivation experiences. I still have many attachments that I need to cultivate away. During the final stage of Fa-rectification, we must always take the Fa as our Teacher and truly do the three things well.
