The Story of Honglian and Her Family

(Clearwisdom.net) It is said, "Even Heaven and earth know when a notion passes through one's mind." These words have been often repeated by Chinese people.

Honglian is a 39-year-old lady who looks like she's in her early 30s. She lives in Macheng City. When you look at this pleasant, optimistic, and neat person, it's hard to believe she once always pulled a long face and was eaten up with disease just a few years years ago.

Honglian had a peevish and stubborn nature. Once she burned a new sweater that she had made for her husband because she was angry at him over a minor issue. Since she always got angry for no apparent reason, conflicts disturbed her family day and night. Because she also suffered from antral gastritis and gynecological diseases, she was thus a frequent visitor to the hospital as well.

One day Honglian couldn't resist the temptation to ask her cousin how she managed to live such a happy life and what her secret of appearing younger and younger was. Honglian's cousin told her that she practiced Falun Gong, and cultivated Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Honglian made up her mind to start practicing Falun Gong in 2002.

Honglian's older brother, who had swallowed the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) malicious lies about Falun Gong, tried to stop her practice and kept claiming that he was going to report their cousin as well. Honglian warned her brother, "If you dare to report our cousin, then I will end up in jail beside her!" Her brother had to stop his threats. Honglian was able to break through tremendous resistance resulting from the CCP's lies and tricks and she became a determined Falun Gong practitioner. She was strict with herself and cultivated according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Soon she got rid of her bad habits, upgraded her xinxing, and all her illnesses disappeared miraculously.

On a midsummer night in 2007, Honglian's husband took her, a three-year-old nephew, and twelve-year-old daughter to visit their relatives on a motorcycle. Because the road was narrow and there were no lights, when they reached the fishpond area near the Longtang office in the town they drove right into the pond. Honglian, who could not swim, was thrown into the center of the pond and water surged into her mouth. In this crisis, she only had the righteous thought that she is a Falun Gong practitioner, and she next felt that her feet were on solid ground. She grabbed the children and reached the shore in the darkness as easily as walking on dry ground. The high bank made it hard to climb up, so Honglian immediately called out for help. The villagers rushed to her and pulled Honglian and the two kids out. All the while her husband was still floating semi-conscious in the pond. The family was saved, and only the exhaust pipe on the motorcycle was damaged.

The villagers were amazed and wondered how a woman who could not swim was able to bring the two kids safely to the shore in such a big and deep pond that had nothing but slippery mud in the bottom. Honglian told them,"It's all because I am a Falun Gong practitioner and Master is protecting me all the time."

Honglian cast off her old, disagreeable self after she obtained the Fa. The whole family witnessed the great changes in her personality and physical condition. After they understood the facts, her parents always picked up the Falun Gong posters that had been thrown on the ground, and stuck them back on the telephone poles. They recited "Falun Dafa is good" all the time, and spread the good news to neighbors and friends. A lot of them quit the Chinese Communist Party after they learned the truth about Falun Gong. What's more, her parent's health became better and better.

The only one who didn't show any change in attitude was Honglian's second older brother who was a low level official in his village, very attached to achieving fame and gain. He was always angry about Honglian's cultivation, constantly abusing and humiliating her. He even persecuted Falun Gong practitioners with the local National Security Division. No matter how hard everyone tried to persuade him, he just wouldn't listen. Later, not only did he develop diabetes and other diseases, but he also lost a lot of money gambling.

We hope that Honglian's brother will understand the truth soon, stop living in the CCP's lies, and quit the Party like the other family members who have insured their good future.
