  • Russia: Rallies in St. Petersburg Clarify the Truth about Falun Gong

On November 5 and 12, practitioners in St. Petersburg held rallies to call for action to end the Chinese Communist Party's brutal persecution against Falun Gong.

Practitioners from St. Petersburg and other areas participated in these rallies. The huge banners reading, "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance" and "The world needs Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance" were very eye-catching. Many people came up to practitioners out of curiosity. Practitioners handed them truth-clarifying materials and told them about the beauty of Falun Gong and the ongoing persecution against innocent believers of these principles. A lot of people were touched by the practitioners' compassionate hearts and peacefulness. They gladly accepted the materials, and some of them discussed with practitioners in depth.

    People learn about the persecution

The photos of tortured practitioners and stories of practitioners' uncompromising spirit moved people's hearts and awakened their consciences. They raised all kinds of questions. One of the most common questions was, "Why would the Chinese regime persecute good people?" Practitioners told them, "The Chinese Communist Party' s nature is based on 'Falsehood, Hatred and Struggle' and thus it feels it cannot allow people to choose 'Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.'" This explanation reminded many people about the brutal persecution of their own people by the Soviet Communist Party. Having learned the truth, people in succession signed the practitioners' petition to support Falun Gong. Many college students, including some Chinese students studying in Russia, also accepted the practitioners' materials.

During the rallies, some practitioners wore golden exercise suites to practice the five sets of Falun Gong exercises along with the music. Their peaceful and elegant movements impressed many passersby who asked where they could learn the practice.

A reporter from a German radio station interviewed practitioners during this activity. It was the first time for him to hear about the ongoing brutal persecution in China. He was surprised by the fact that the Western media haven't given enough coverage to this important issue, even though it has lasted so long.
