  • Thirty Cases of Falun Gong Practitioners Tortured to Death Confirmed in October

According to statistics from information on the Minghui (Chinese version of Clearwisdom) website, 30 torture deaths of Falun Gong practitioners in October 2005 have been confirmed through independent channels. Since the onset of the persecution on July 20, 1999, by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Jiang's rogue regime as of November 5, 2005, the CCP is to blame for at least 2,778 of those deaths from brutal, genocidal persecution.

The 30 cases confirmed in October include 16 female practitioners. This accounts for 53 percent of those killed. Eighteen of these practitioners were over 55 years old, accounting for 60 percent of those killed. According to statistics from information on the Minghui website, 390 Falun Gong practitioners were tortured to death from January to October in 2005.

The 30 torture deaths occurred in 12 provinces and municipal cities in Mainland China. Seven of these deaths occurred in Hebei Province, four each in Heilongjiang and Liaoning Provinces, and three in Shandong Province. Two deaths were reported in each of these locations: Beijing, Chongqing, and the Provinces of Hunan and Henan. One death occurred in each of these locations: Tianjin and the Provinces of Sichuan, Hubei and Shanxi. The causes of death varied. Some of the practitioners were beaten to death by personnel from the "610 Offices," some died in prison or labor camps, and some died from recent persecution initiated by Zeng Qinghong and Luo Gan, members of CCP's Jiang rogue regime.

Practitioners Ms. Lu Lihua and Mr. Xu Zhicheng Tortured to Death During the Latest Round of Persecution in Heilongjiang

Recent rounds of persecution initiated by Zeng Qinghong and Luo Gan account for nearly one hundred practitioners arrested and at least two deaths. The deceased are Ms. Lu Lihua from Harbin City and Mr. Xu Zhicheng from Hegang City. Following is their story:

Ms. Lu Lihua, born in August 1962, was a self-employed businesswoman. On Friday, September 23, 2005, Harbin City police mobilized a large police contingent to conduct indiscriminate mass arrests. At around 6:00 a.m., the police arrested Ms. Lu at her home and sent her to the No. 2 Detention Center in Harbin City without a warrant. She was already dead when she was sent to a hospital at 7:30 p.m. on the evening of October 2. According to insiders, there were many purple bruises on Ms. Lu's face, chest and back.

Mr. Xu Zhicheng, a practitioner in his 40s, worked at the Department of General Affairs at Nanshan Mining in Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province. He was arrested on September 26, 2005. He was detained for three days without a warrant and sent to Hegang City Second Detention Center, where he was tortured to death on October 2. Mr. Xu Zhicheng's body is being kept in the Dissection Room in the Second Detention Center. His face and body have many areas of apparent injury. His nose and lips were covered with blood, and there were other blood-spattered wounds on his body. The police destroyed the cameras belonging to Mr. Xu's family members when they tried to take photos for evidence. Mr. Xu's family has refused to cremate him and are preparing to file a lawsuit.

Practitioner Mr. Yuan Shengjun Tortured to Death by 610 Office Police

At around 5:30 p.m. on October 25, 2005, practitioner Mr. Yuan Shengjun escaped unnoticed from police custody. He was being held at the People's Hospital in Jiyuan City, Henan Province. He escaped after carrying out several days of a hunger strike. He ran to the home of a villager in Nantao Village, Chengliu County, Jiyuan City.

Mr. Yuan Shengjun was later surrounded by the police. The police forced officials in Nantao Village to sign a death certificate even before Mr. Yuan Shengjun had died. They dragged Mr. Yuan Shengjun to the crematory and beat him to death on the way. According to those who know, Mr. Yuan Shengjun's eyes did not close after his death, and his mouth was wide open. One hand, arm and his fingernails were totally black; his back was totally black and blue, and one of his legs was greenish purple.

    Yuan Shengjun

Mr. Yuan was born in 1963. He held a bachelor's degree and lived in the family dormitory of Jiyuan City Electricity Bureau. He had worked as a teacher, a lawyer, an engineer, and an assistant to the general manager at a corporation and as head of Jiyuan City Materials Bureau. Mr. Yuan started practicing Falun Gong in 1997 and quickly recovered from chronic heart disease and high blood pressure. During eight years of the practice he never got sick.

After starting to practice Falun Gong, Mr. Yuan conducted himself strictly according to the requirements of Falun Gong. With improved morality his heart and mind became pure and he was very healthy. He was popular and well liked and was promoted to the position of head of the Jiyuan City Materials Bureau in July 1999. Mr. Yuan worked hard, refused to take bribes, and treated people fairly. He received high scores from the bureau employees.

In July 1999, the CCP regime led by Jiang Zemin began persecuting Falun Gong. In November 2000, Mr. Yuan wrote an open letter to Jiang, then general secretary of the Central CCP Committee, in which he clarified the truth about Falun Gong. Officials from the Judicial Bureau arrested Mr. Yuan. The Jiyuan City 610 Office insisted that Mr. Yuan was the main person in charge of Falun Gong in Jiyuan City, so they sentenced him to three years in prison. They held him at the Jiyuan Detention Center and at the Zhenzhou City Prison and released him in November 2003. During his incarceration Mr. Yuan was savagely beaten, shocked with electric batons, and subjected to brainwashing. He was also terminated from his job.

At 11:30 a.m. on March 30, 2005, Wang Mingli, head of the Jiyuan City National Security Group, and political secretary Wang Guoyou led members from the 610 Office to break into Mr. Yuan's home and ransacked it. After failing to find any Falun Gong-related material, they still tried to arrest him. Mr. Yuan refused to cooperate with them and told them the truth about Falun Gong. They called 110 [equivalent to 911 in the US] and asked for police officers, who came and arrested Mr. Yuan and took him to the Jiyuan City Detention Center the next day.

Mr. Yuan held a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. On the eighth day, he was sent to the No. 1 People's Hospital in Jiyuan City, where he was brutally force-fed. On April 29, Jiyuan City Police Department officials issued an arrest warrant and forbid Yuan Shengjun's family from visiting him.

At the detention center, Mr. Yuan told the people assigned to monitor him stories of his Falun Gong practice as well as Falun Gong's principles that teach people to be good. Many people were moved by his words. The officials at the Jiyuan City 610 Office were afraid the guards would listen to Falun Gong principles and "soften up," so they changed guards every few days.

After six months of detention, an illegal trial was secretly held on September 22, 2005. After 15 days, Mr. Yuan Shengjun was sentenced to six years in prison on October 7.

Since no incriminating evidence was presented at the trial, Mr. Yuan's wife and his mother, who is in her 80s, decided to appeal the ruling. Unfortunately, within two weeks, on October 25, the 610 Office police beat Mr. Yuan to death. There was not a single patch of skin intact on his body, and congealed blood could be seen underneath the skin. The body was in a wretched condition.

Yuan Shengjun's family demanded an autopsy, but the police refused. The next day the police secretly cremated the body before his family could look at it. Afterwards, they sent many plainclothes police officers to Mr. Yuan's family to take pictures of practitioners who were paying condolences, as the police planned to persecute more innocent practitioners.

Mr. Yuan Shengjun was deprived of his life at age 42 by Jiang's group, and he left behind his mother in her 80s, his wife, and his 13-year-old son.

Ms. Wang Xiuhua Suffers Severe Nerve Damage and Dies Due to Persecution

    Wang Xiuhua

Ms. Wang Xiuhua was 51 years old and lived in the Mentougou District in Beijing. On October 30, 2004, Ms. Wang and another practitioner, Liu Zhenxia, were illegally arrested. The police from the National Security Section of the Mentougou District Police Department arrested the practitioners when they were distributing truth clarification materials near Tanzhe Temple. The police ransacked the practitioners' homes and sentenced them to two years of forced labor. On November 25, 2004, Ms. Wang was taken away and sent to the Tuanhe Dispatch Division in Beijing. In mid-December 2004 she was transferred to Group 2, Squadron 6 at the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City, Hebei Province.

On June 22, 2005, authorities from the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City phoned Ms. Wang's family and told them that she had been diagnosed with "intestinal obstruction" and "electrolyte abnormalities" and told her family to take her home. When her family saw Ms. Wang, she couldn't think or respond clearly. She had a blank look on her face and could not move her arms or legs. The labor camp authorities forced her family to take her home.

Her family rushed Ms. Wang to the hospital for emergency treatment. Aside from urinary retention, Ms. Wang suffered from nausea and vomiting, and showed other abnormalities such as the inability to think clearly, a blank stare, the inability to speak, immobility of arms and legs, and loss of feeling in the lower body, all of which are typical symptoms of severe nerve damage.

Her symptoms were alleviated through medical treatment and she stopped vomiting, but she still had urinary retention and had to stay on a catheter. The damage to her central nervous system did not improve. On July 15 Ms. Wang suddenly stopped breathing and resuscitation efforts failed.

Mr. Peng Geng Tortured to Death for Not Giving Up His Belief

Mr. Peng Geng, 31 years old and a former policeman of the Liaoning Provincial Public Security Bureau, was suspended from his duties because he firmly practiced Falun Gong. He was illegally detained and tortured in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp and other labor camps or prisons. When he became terminally ill, the court and prison both agreed to release him on medical grounds, but the 610 Office in Shenyang City refused to release him. On July 14, 2005, Mr. Peng was tortured to death. In the final moments of his life, Peng Geng still told his family members, "Falun Dafa is good."

Mr. Peng was from the Xinglongtai District in Panjin City. After July 20, 1999, he repeatedly went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong and clarify the truth. Because of this he was suspended from his duties by the provincial Public Security Bureau. Under the influence of the slanderous propaganda against Falun Gong by the CCP, Mr. Peng's parents did not understand Falun Gong practice and watched him day and night, but this did not shake his will to practice Falun Gong. When the Public Security Bureau personnel ordered him to write a self-criticism, he wrote down "Falun Dafa is good" instead.

The public security bureau was responsible for sending Mr. Peng to the forced labor camp. After he heard about the staged self-immolation in Tiananmen Square, he managed to escape the camp. He went back to Panjin City and took part in preparing truth-clarifying materials. Because he was good at operating a computer, the materials he made were well done and produced in large quantities. Later, someone turned him in to the police, and the provincial public security bureau again sent him to a forced labor camp. He went on a hunger strike and broke out of the camp again. After returning to Panjin he continued with truth-clarification materials production and later he went back to Shenyang to work at the truth-clarification materials production site there.

According to a witness, Mr. Peng Geng was detained in the "strict monitoring team" of the forced labor camp at Wujiabaozi in Fushun City and was forbidden to speak. When in the male team at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, Mr. Peng was repeatedly tortured. He was beaten to the point where he was cut and bleeding, and salt would be smeared into his wounds. Some guards forced practitioners to kneel on rocks under the burning sun while holding heavy objects on their backs. After the practitioners told the guards that torturing people was wrong, the guards assaulted them even more viciously. Many practitioners were beaten unconscious, and some practitioners' wounds were untreated and festered to the point of being infested with maggots. In order to cover up their crimes, the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp officials disbanded the Sixth Male Team, and most of the practitioners were transferred to the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp.

On August 12, 2002, Mr. Peng Geng and other practitioners were arrested. Before the arrest, one practitioner notified fellow practitioners who were preparing materials so that they could transfer the materials safely. At the end of 2002, Mr. Peng was sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment and sent to the Shenyang Prison. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution of Falun Gong and vomited blood in large amounts. His life was in danger. The guards shouted at him, "You'll not be released even if you die of hunger." Because of a recurrence of pulmonary tuberculosis, he was sent to the Shenyang Prison Hospital and later to the Tieling Prison. He was then detained in the Tieling Hospital.

While in prison, Mr. Peng maintained his firm belief in Falun Gong. When he was at the brink of death, the court and prison both agreed to release him on medical grounds, but the Shenyang City 610 Office police refused to do so. On July 14, 2005, Mr. Peng Geng died from persecution.

Ms. Cao Yue Dies After Being Tortured in Wanjia Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Cao Yue was an employee at the Terylene Factory in Acheng City, Heilongjiang Province. Because of hepatitis, tinnitus, pharyngitis, sharp canthus conjunctivitis, rheumatism, hypotension and other ailments, she had difficulty working and doing housework, and had thoughts of suicide. After she practiced Falun Gong, her ailments disappeared, and she became healthy in body and mind.

Jiang Zemin's faction began to arrest Falun Gong practitioners on July 20, 1999. On the eve of the 2000 Chinese New Year, the police arrested Ms. Cao for the first time, because she still practiced Falun Gong. Officers from the Chengbei Police Station in Acheng City and Chief Wang Weimin took Ms. Cao to the Second Detention Center. She was verbally abused and beaten with a broom, a plastic tube, and a leather belt while cold water was poured over her. The prison personnel hung her by her handcuffs from a window casing for five days. Thirty-six days later, she was released after paying a bail bond of 10,000 yuan, 8,000 of which has been refunded.

Ms. Cao tried to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Local police withheld her identification card and she was intercepted. Ms. Cao was sent to a forced labor camp for two years. She was held in the 12th Group of the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. During her detention she was not allowed to study the principles of Falun Gong or practice the exercises, and she was pressured to "reform." Seven female practitioners were sent to a men's prison. Guards from the men's prison monitored them. They were hung by their handcuffs, tied to a bedpost with a rope, or made to squat on the concrete floor. At night they slept on the floor in the male guards' office. The conditions they had to endure were unspeakable. Liu Hui, the head of the 8th Group, even said that he would send female practitioners to male inmates' cells and they could do whatever they wanted with them. Ms. Cao was tortured for eight days.

Because she refused to be "reformed," to write a guarantee statement, or to recite the prison regulations, the prison guards hung Ms. Cao and other practitioners in a "small cell" and shocked them with electric batons. Falun Gong practitioners were physically tortured and mentally tormented. She was tortured by guards from the men's 5th Group. Two malicious persons, Chen Shi and Wang Deng, participated in the gross abuse and torment.

She was not released at the end of her term. Her term was extended to January 18, 2002, because she did not "reform." After Ms. Cao Yue was released from the forced labor camp she was very weak and often had severe stomach pain. She passed away at the end of September 2005.

    * * * * * * * * *

Each case represents a huge debt, and each debt is like a rope or chain. Good deeds will be rewarded and bad deeds will punished. All debts must be paid. Heavenly laws rule over all, and each bloody debt owed by the Chinese Communist Party and Jiang's rogue regime during their genocidal persecution of Falun Gong will have to be repaid. That day is coming.

Engineer Ye Hao Dies under Severe Persecution

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ye Hao was an engineer employed by Zhongnan Construction Design Institute located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. He was illegally sent to forced labor, and was repeatedly harmed both mentally and physically. He died on October 18, 2005.

Mr. Ye Hao was 35 years old, and he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong at the beginning of October 2000. Police took 5000 yuan in cash from him and more than 5000 yuan in bank certificates. He was later forced to become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home. In March 2001, he was arrested, and sentenced to two years of forced labor. He had been deprived the basic rights in the Wuhan City Hewan Labor Camp. Mr. Ye wasn't allowed to contact other Falun Gong practitioners twice while in the Second Ward because he refused to cooperate with the name counts.

Male Falun Gong practitioners are tortured in the Second Ward of Wuhan City Hewan Labor Camp. The guards deprive practitioners of the right to sleep for long periods of time, force them do heavy labor, hang them by handcuffs from metal window frames, don't allow them to use the toilet, etc. To force practitioners to give up their faith, the guards torture them by not letting them sleep for several days; sometimes for a week. They may not even be allowed to lie down on a bed for one whole month. Some practitioners can only sleep 2-3 hours per day while doing heavy labor overtime. Wardens Zhou Houshun and Chen Yong (both male) encouraged prisoners to beat Falun Gong practitioners brutally.

Mr. Ye Hao was released from the labor camp in February 2003. His employer fired him, and the local police station took his residence registration and personal ID; then he didn't have any way to find a job. He had been followed and closely monitored for a long time. He didn't have any financial resources, and his physical health was also damaged. His mother is also a Falun Gong practitioner, and was detained eight times after July 20, 1999. Mr. Ye had been living under huge mental pressure. Mr. Ye Hao died on October 18, 2005.

Brutal Torture Taking Place in Handan Forced Labor Camp

In Handan Forced Labor Camp, many illegally detained practitioners are being brutally tortured, devastating both their bodies and minds.

At around 9.30 a.m. on the morning of May 9, 2005, a large-scale meeting was held, where practitioners were ordered to criticize Falun Gong. Seeing this, practitioner Mr. Bao Jige immediately tore up the "Criticizing Falun Gong" book and firmly said, "I have benefited greatly from Falun Gong, and I will never criticize it." The police then began beating Mr. Bao Jige. Mr. Bao was handcuffed to the bed, with his body hanging down and feet dangling above the ground. The officers then used electric batons and other means to torture him. During the torture, Mr. Bao vomited large amounts of blood. The torture lasted until 8 p.m. that night, and since then, Mr. Bao Jige's right forearm has been paralyzed. Mr. Bao's family members requested to visit him on several occasions, but their requests were all denied.

Those who took part in the persecution included Xing Yansheng, Yao Jianming, Wang Zhiming, Li Haiming, Gao Fei and others.

On July 16, 2005, practitioner Mr. Dou Pingjun, who was formerly an excellent school teacher, was severely tortured in the storage room for refusing to sign the "Four Statements" (same as the Three Statements, but with an "Acknowledgement of Guilt Statement"). Officers Liu Haibo, Wang Hailin and Zhao Wen initially abused him physically before proceeding to shock him with electric batons. Even after the electric batons ran out of batteries, they refused to stop and continued to beat him. The torture went from 10 a.m. until 3 a.m. the next day. On July 24 at around 9 p.m., when Mr. Dou Pingjun was sent to solitary confinement in the fifth squadron, he was again brutally tortured by police officers Xing Yansheng, Liu Chaobo and Wang Hailin. They also used electric batons to torture him and tried to force him to sign the Four Statements again. This lasted until 11 p.m. The torture caused Mr. Dou's heart disease and hypertension to recur, but even after this, they still refused to allow his family to bail him out on the basis of his medical needs.

On August 31, 2005, after practitioner Cheng Wendong was forced to watch a movie that defamed Falun Gong, Cheng refused to write down his "reflections on the movie" as required by the police. As a result, he was beaten by police officer Wang Zhiming and others. They tore his clothes and used several electric batons to shock him.

On September 17, 2005, after practitioner Dong Anzhang experienced some pain in his legs and wanted to squat down for a while, he severely beaten up by police officer Wang Zhiming. This made his left ear deaf and caused him to defecate in his trousers.

On September 23, 2005, practitioner Li Guanqi refused to write defamatory statements against Falun Gong and was consequently summoned by police officer Wang Zhiming. Wang used electric batons to shock his nipples, stomach and the corners of his eyes. Police officers Zhang Wenshan, Li Haiming and six others also took part in the persecution. They beat Li Guanqi for more than two hours, covering his body with bruises.

On October 7, 2005, practitioner Huang Yunzhang was severely tortured by police officers Li Haiming and Yao Jianming for officially declaring that his Four Statements were null and void. They punished him by having him stand for hours and repeatedly slapping his face.

Practitioner Wang Zhiwu was handcuffed by officer Gao Fei for nearly 6 hours, and when he was handcuffed, he was also badly beaten to the extent that he lost two of his teeth. On October 9, Wang was forced to stand for hours and severely beaten for refusing to write defamatory statements against Falun Gong. He was also physically abused for not singing a song as instructed on October 13, 2005.

This is but a small sample of the persecution of practitioners in Handan Forced Labor Camp. Police officer Gao Fei would often say, "A soldier is meant to kill, and a police officer is meant to beat people up." Police officer Li Haiming said, "All those electric batons that we have are not meant for display. Police batons, small solitary cells, the Tiger Bench and handcuffs are all meant to be used."

Recently, Gao Fei has been traveling to many other parts of China. On September 12, 2005, six practitioners from Tangshankaiping Forced Labor Camp were transferred to Handan Forced Labor Camp. On October 10, 2005, there were another six practitioners from Gaoyang that were transferred to Handan Forced Labor Camp. These practitioners were quickly subjected to the same persecution.

Police officer Wang Zhiming is brutal in beating people. He and his gang are doing their utmost to force practitioners to give up their beliefs so that they will receive a large bonus.

Meanwhile, the labor camp has been recognized as one of "China's Most Civilized Work Units."

A Medical Worker Discusses The Torture of Gao Rongrong

Falun Gong practitioner Gao Rongrong was shocked with electric batons by labor camp guards for seven consecutive hours and was disfigured as a result, while she was detained in the Longshan Forced Labor Camp. She eventually was tortured to death in June 2005. The following was narrated by a medical worker who heard about the persecution of Gao Rongrong:

I am a medical worker. Recently my hospital admitted a patient who used to be in the same ward with Gao Rongrong at the China Medical University Hospital. She said that the guards of the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp brought Gao Rongrong to the emergency room at China Medical University Hospital some time in June 2005. Gao was clear-headed and able to sit up, but completely emaciated. Seven or eight guards in civilian clothes took turns watching Gao and prohibited her from talking. Whenever the guards were not watching, Gao explained Falun Gong to the other patient. The guards would not provide her with food. She longed to see her aged father. Whenever the guards came in, she closed her eyes. Although, they did not allow her any food, the guards recorded details about foods that they claimed she ate, in a notebook. She suffered greatly in this manner.

The other patient asked the guards why Gao Rongrong was not allowed to eat and was told that it was because she was a Falun Gong practitioner. When the other patient wanted to know why they nevertheless recorded in their notebooks that she was taking in food, they replied that their superior had ordered them to record this information and to put it into a report.

The Torture and Enslavement of Practitioners in Shandong Province's Second Women's Forced Labor Camp

Shandong Province's Second Women's Forced Labor Camp, formerly known as the fourth Group of Wang Village Forced Labor Camp, was established on November 3, 2000. Within one week, different areas of Shandong Province had sent over 350 Falun Gong practitioners sentenced to forced labor. This number increased to from 9,000-10,000 during the period from March to April 2001 and lasted until spring 2003. By that time, the labor camp's old building with its four floors could not hold so many people, so they built a brainwashing center somewhere else in March and April 2001. The brainwashing center was moved to its current address in August 2001. Around 300-400 practitioners are still imprisoned there. This labor camp is equipped with roughly one hundred guards, who financially exploit practitioners, wreck their bodies, and enslave their spirits.

In March and April 2001, the number of practitioners in different areas of Shandong Province who were sentenced to labor camps increased, so they built a brainwashing center outside the forced labor camp. Initially, each practitioner was charged 3,000-4,000 yuan. Each practitioner was also accompanied by someone charged with brainwashing him or her. Later the fee was increased to 6,000 yuan. On October 1, 2001, the superior department prohibited charging the fee. Only those people who were subjected to brainwashing during October 2001 were exempted from the fee. Immediately after October, they still charged everybody 3,000-5,000 yuan. It is unknown how many people were subjected to brainwashing there or how much money was taken from them. What can be seen is that new multistory buildings have been built, one by one. "610 Offices" in different areas in turn order the families and workplaces of practitioners subjected to brainwashing to pay the fees.

Meanwhile, the guards from each group use their contacts in society to look for work that is so time- and labor-consuming that nobody wants to do it. They then force practitioners to do the work. The work includes, for example, cutting the ends of thread for clothing (local work from Wang Village), wiring the windings (local work from the electrical winding manufacturing station at Wang Village and a toy factory in Weihai City), and gluing glass vases and colored glaze handiworks plated with silver (work from a handiwork exporting factory in Qingdao City). The glue used in some of these tasks is made with methanol and formaldehyde. Methanol is toxic to people's eyes, and long-term exposure can cause blindness. They also assign labor quotas. Whoever cannot finish their quota is not allowed to sleep. Practitioners often work 16-20 hours a day.

Many practitioners collapse of illness and only simple routine medicines are used to treat them. If practitioners go to see a doctor outside of the labor camp, they have to pay everything themselves. Nevertheless, the guards live off their share of the income from practitioner's slave labor. Even though all practitioners passed their physical examinations when they were taken into the labor camp, they all left with illnesses.

At the same time, practitioners are also forced to take brainwashing "studies." They are often forced to write what they have learned. No matter what one writes, they do not believe it. They divide practitioners into classes and groups, arrange people with crooked understandings to be secret agents and clandestinely report to them, arrange night patrol and night duty, and incite conflicts among practitioners. The nine inherent traits of the Chinese Communist Party are comprehensively demonstrated: evil, deceit, incitement, unleashing the scum of society, espionage, robbery, fighting, elimination, and control. Many collaborators go all out for the guards and become evil's tool for brainwashing. The guards have delayed the collaborators' releases again and again.

The Brutal Persecution of Ms. Gong Yanhong by Police in Beijing and Zhangjiakou in 2001

On August 10, 2001, 21-year-old practitioner Ms. Gong Yanhong and her mother traveled from Jijiafang Village, Zhangjiakou City to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong and hold up banners on Tiananmen Square. The mother and the daughter were arrested by the police, forced to report their names and addresses, searched, and detained in a metal cage. They were beaten and verbally abused by the police, and not allowed to use the bathroom.

The following evening, Yanhong and her mother were handcuffed and sent to another building by police car, where they were forcibly photographed and fingerprinted. Then Yanhong was transferred to Lugouqiao Police Station in Beijing with three male Falun Gong practitioners. Two young policemen took one of the male practitioners into a cell. Soon screams and the noise of electric batons were heard: "Help! The policemen are killing me!" In a while, the two policemen dragged the body of the practitioner--who had lost consciousness from the torture--out of the cell and threw him to the ground. The other two practitioners were tortured and thrown onto the ground in turn.

Then Gong Yanhong was dragged into the torture cell. She was kicked in the back and fell to the floor. Then a policeman stepped on her back and another put his foot on her face, demanding that she give her name and address. Yanhong refused to answer. The policemen placed a 2-meter-long stick on her legs, stood on the stick and rolled it back and forth. Gong Yanhong's legs immediately bruised and swelled up, and she lost consciousness from the pain. They cuffed her hands behind her and forcefully lifted her arms while stepping on her back. Yanhong's arms felt as if they were being pulled out of socket, and she could not help screaming out loud. The policemen pushed soap into her mouth and forced her to bite down. They stuffed a dirty cloth used to clean shoes into her mouth and then shocked her with electric batons. A policeman tore off her top.

The policemen cut Gong Yanhong's hair and locked her into a 2-square-meter cage with water all over the floor. The torture severely bruised and battered Gong Yanhong's body. If she had not practiced Falun Gong, she would have been disabled. As a practitioner, she has strong belief in Falun Gong and Master, and no fear of the evil. The policemen cuffed her to a sewer pipe, forcing her to lie on the wet floor for the whole night.

The police returned the next morning and demanded that she tell them her name and address, but Gong Yanghong said nothing. The policemen handcuffed her and started to torture her again. Gong Yanhong lost consciousness from the pain again. After more torture, Gong Yanhong was dragged into a police car at around noon of August 13 and sent to the local detention center along with her mother.

Yanhong was severely injured and she'd had no food or water for four days. Her life was in danger. Fearing that she might die at the detention center, the officials sent her home. Her home was searched when she was detained at the police station. Her family was shocked that a healthy young girl had been tortured to near-death, while the police station and the township government extorted thousands of yuan from the family to buy the mother's release. Even though the family paid the money, Yanhong's mother was still unlawfully sent to Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp and continued to be persecuted there.

On June 27, 2000, while she was doing the exercises in a small park near her home, practitioner Ms. Ding Lian was arrested and taken to the local police station. She was detained there for 15 days and fined 3300 yuan. She was not released until her life was in danger due to a hunger strike she started. Afterwards, the police assaulted her at her home several times and forcibly took her to the brainwashing center. The authorities at her workplace collaborated with the police with threats in order to try to force her to give up practicing Falun Gong. Fearing more persecution, her family prevented her from going outside. Her husband beat her and later divorced her after 40 years of marriage. The senseless persecution has had a devastating effect on the lives of Ms. Ding Lian, her children, and her family members and friends.
