  • Australia: Falun Dafa Association Australia Asks Government to Deny Entry to Zhang Dejiang

On November 4, the Falun Dafa Association of Australia held a press conference in front of the Department of Justice in Sydney and asked to deny entry of Zhang Dejiang, Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) since November 2002.

Falun Dafa Association Australia spokesperson John Deller pointed out in his speech that Zhang Dejiang was responsible for the systemic persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Guangdong Province. It has been verified that at least 64 practitioners were tortured to death in Guangdong and at least 109 practitioners were arrested unlawfully during the first half of this year.

Mr. Deller pointed out in his letter to the minister of Department of Justice that the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong in the last six years used hatred propaganda, economic persecution, torture, and killing. It is a violation of human rights and morality. He called on the Australian government and international community to investigate and help end the six-year-long persecution against Falun Gong.

Ms. Yan Xie, who was imprisoned for more than two years in the Guangzhou Women's Labor Camp, narrated her suffering in the camp. She said that she was cuffed to iron window bars for several consecutive days and nights, deprived of sleep and forced to labor for more than 16 hours daily. There is no justice in China, but that's not the case in Australia. She is consulting with attorneys and departments concerned to take lawful actions in Australia to bring to justice those people like Zhang Dejiang for committing crimes against Falun Gong practitioners.

Australia citizen Mr. Chen called for help to rescue his relatives who are being unlawfully imprisoned in Guangdong Province and asked the Australian government to deny entry to human rights criminals.

After the press conference, Mr. Deller and Ms. Xie handed over letters to the office of the Department of Justice, reports on practitioners persecuted in Guangdong Province during Zhang Dejiang's term and a report about practitioners in Guangdong Province being persecuted.

Toronto, Canada: Practitioners Read Falun Dafa Association Announcement in front of Chinese Consulate

On the morning of November 2, 2005, practitioners in Toronto gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate and read a Falun Dafa Association announcement to people inside and outside the consulate. They also announced that two high-level Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials were being sued in Canada for their participation in the persecution of Falun Gong after the publication of the announcement.

Practitioner Mr. Zhojin Zhang read the announcement aloud in both Chinese and English.

The announcement stated, "From today on, overseas Falun Gong practitioners will file civil or criminal lawsuits against all important government or CCP officials who participate in or continue to implement the persecution of Falun Gong and as a result, commit new crimes in addition to those they have already perpetrated against Falun Gong."

Mr. Zhang said, "Huang Huahua, Governor of Guangdong Province and Lin Yanzhi, Deputy Secretary of the Jilin Provincial CCP Committee, are two high-level CCP officials who are being sued in Canada for their participation in the persecution of Falun Gong after publication of the announcement. Lin is the first CCP official to be sued after making an unpublicized trip to outside of China. The lawsuit serves as a strong warning to all CCP officials who participate in the persecution of Falun Gong. When they leave China, we will initiate legal procedures to bring them to justice."

Mr. Kaiwen Yang from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) said, "The WOIPFG has implemented a global monitoring system to track new persecution cases and announce investigation findings each week. Perpetrators and those who are responsible will be listed in the monitoring system. As soon as they leave China, they will face lawsuits."

The announcement pointed out, "Falun Gong is to save people, including people in all social statuses. Even for those who have committed wrongdoings, there is still an opportunity for them to abandon the evil path and choose to be good. For all those who have committed crimes against Falun Gong but want now to correct their mistakes, they can submit, under safe circumstances, a guarantee statement or regret letter to the Minghui website or to any regional Falun Dafa Association to be archived. We will not investigate the various crimes of those who are determined to correct their mistakes. However, we will continue to monitor their actions."

European Friends of Falun Gong Writes to UK Prime Minister Prior to CCP Leader's Visit

The Rt Hon Tony Blair MP
    House of Commons
    London SW1A 0AA

    31st October 2005

    Dear Mr Blair

Re: Hu Jintao's Visit to the UK

In view of the forthcoming visit of the Chinese leader to the UK, we are writing to express our concern over the continuing violation of human rights in China, particularly about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, which has been documented by the UN and many human rights organizations. We sincerely hope you can raise this issue to Hu Jintao during his visit.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been responsible for the deaths of 80 million Chinese people since 1949, and a recent Amnesty International report indicated that the CCP executes more people than the rest of the world combined. Recent defections in Australia and Canada by Chinese embassy officials bear witness to the strength of feeling even amongst Chinese people, many of whom can no longer stomach the outrages being committed by the CCP in the name of the Chinese nation.

President Bush and Canadian Prime Minister Martin both pressed Hu Jintao on the issue of human rights during his visit to North America earlier this month. On 9th September PM Martin even raised the specific issue of Falun Gong during his meeting with Hu, and President Bush gave him a list of human rights cases that the United States is concerned about, a list that a senior U.S. official said is headed by the lengthy imprisonment of a researcher for the New York Times on accusations of disclosing state secrets.

It is important that Mr Hu realizes that the UK respects justice, democracy and supports human rights and that this is the underpinning to sustain long-term stability and prosperity in our trade and economic partnership with China. We believe the UK's responsibility is clear and our voice is critical in bringing an end to the systemic persecution in China. The UK must act according to international human rights agreements, otherwise the UK is sending a message that it condones genocide and human rights violations.

We would very appreciate your support and understanding in this matter.

    Yours sincerely,

    Vice Chairman
    European Friends of Falun Gong
