The show "The Same Song" on CCTV has a certain amount of influence in China and has quite some viewers, but it is evil in nature. The theme song of the show, "The Same Song", is very familiar to those Falun Gong practitioners who have experienced the persecution in Tuanhe or Xin'an Labor Camps (currently known as Beijing Women's Labor Camp). In early 2000, the "transformation rate" (rate of Falun Gong practitioners who give up the practice of Falun Gong under persecution) was very low in Tuanhe Labor Camp. The labor camp therefore sent people to learn how to raise this rate in Xin'an Labor Camp. There were also teams sent from the Xin'an Labor Camp to introduce their "experience", including those who had been "transformed", to stage shows and performances. The theme song used at the shows were this "Same Song". In the beginning, there were no lyrics, only music, and the lyrics came later. At the same time, "The Same Song" show on CCTV was launched in 2000.

In labor camps, Falun Gong practitioners were forced to learn this song. Whenever a Falun Gong practitioner was transformed, the first thing he/she was forced to do was not to write any repentence or the pledge not to practice Falun Gong, but to sing this song together with former practitioners who had turned against Falun Gong, as well as the police. Even the prisoners who were not practitioners understood that whenever they heard "The Same Song", it meant that another Falun Gong practitioner was brainwashed. When those former practitioners were released, they would sing this song together with the police.

"The Same Song", the show and the song, are wicked. It paints a peaceful picture for the CCP regime and is used as a tool by the evil to attack the spiritual side of Falun Gong practitioners.

After Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ma Qinghai was arrested by the national security group at Aohanqi, he was sent to Aohan Prison. At the time of this writing, he had been on hunger strike for 53 days in protest. Recently, he was secretly sentenced to nine years by an Aohanqi Court. The police station and prison have made attempts to thwart his family members from appealing and did not allow their attorney to interview him to collect evidence.

The Aohanqi Court secretly and illegally tried Mr. Ma on December 8, 2005. His family was not notified, and no arguments for the defense were allowed during the illegal trial. Not until December 17, when his family member went to the prison to inquire about Mr. Ma's situation, did chief Zhao Chunshan inform them, "Ma Qinghai has been sentenced to nine years. And December 19 is the deadline for appeal." His family member hurriedly went to engage an attorney. On the afternoon of December 19, his family member and the attorney arrived at the prison to ask Mr. Ma to make the decision to appeal. The political instructor Wang Li, the deputy chief of the prison, Gao Liang and police officer Ji Yahuan obstructed them in every possible way. Not until the end of the work shift did it finally get signed. However, the guard passed on the paper and did not allow the attorney to meet with Ma Qinghai.

On December 20, two attorneys arrived at the prison to see Mr. Ma as provided by law. At first, chief Zhao Chunshan agreed to let them see him. However, after the chief returned to the prison building, he had Ji Yahuan come out and tell them that they could not see him. When the family member called Zhao up on his cell phone, Zhao used the excuse: "Police authorization is required." The attorneys found the political commissar of the police station, Qing Ruisong. Confronted by the attorneys, Qing said, "Recently, the central government issued a document that attorneys are not allowed to see Falun Gong practitioners in custody." The attorneys asked him to show them the document, but Qing Ruisong said, "We do have the document, but it's with the Chifeng National Security Group." The attorneys said this is not possible. If it were true, we would find it on the internet. The attorneys would also have received the notice.

The family member went to the court to ask for a copy of the verdict. As of December 21, the court still has not given them a copy. According to people in legal circles, attorneys meeting with their clients is a perfectly normal legal procedure. No organization or individual has any right to interfere for any reason. From the above, it is not difficult to see that the Aohanqi Police, the prosecutor and the Judicial Systems who are the enforcers of the law are themselves breaking the law and have reached the point of doing whatever they like.

The family members worry that Mr. Ma's health may be in serious danger from the torture. The authorities break the law while enforcing the law because they fear that the situation will be exposed.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lu Jingyu, who was abducted together with Ma Qinghai, was recently sent to the Chifeng brainwashing center to be "transformed". We hereby appeal for the urgent rescue of Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Ma Qinghai and Mr. Lu Jingyu.

The No. 4 Hebei Province Jail, also called the Beijiao Jail of Shijiazhuang City, is located at No. 3 Beihuan West Road, Shijiazhuang City. The guards there use all kinds of cruel means to torture Falun Gong practitioners. The police have isolated all the steadfast Falun Gong practitioners and kept them under special surveillance. They used towels to gag practitioners' mouths, and tortured practitioners in various ways, such as kicking them in the lower back, sitting on their legs which were placed on a bench, burning their feet with cigarettes, hitting their heads with metal plates, force-feeding them with salt water, slapping their faces, and using tortures called "stewing the eagle" and "slippery shackle." As a result, several Falun Gong practitioners were injured. Among them are Guo Zhengqing, Ke Xingguo, Shi Yan, and Niu Mingang.

A policeman named Zhao Jun ruthlessly used a pair of pliers and injured the ring finger and pinky finger of practitioner Li Mingtao. A policeman named Wang Guobin instigated other inmates to insert sharp objects under the fingernails of Falun Gong practitioner Li Tipo. On two occasions the police sent someone to "stew the eagle" and "take care of" practitioner Wang Yan, who had been on hunger strike for over one hundred and eighty days and was near death.

Practitioner Yang Xiaojie was inhumanly tortured by the police. As a result, he lost two of his teeth and he became disabled due to beatings on the lower back. He couldn't get out of bed. He was reduced to a skeleton, and was on the brink of death. The jail tried to block the news and forbade his family from visiting him for over a year.

The guards of the Beijiao Jail of Shijiazhuang City never stopped persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. They just cover it up and make it even more vicious.

After the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, the authorities at the Bohai Petroleum Group in Tanggu District, Tianjin City set up a so-called "Falun Gong Treatment Group" and "Special Case Group" specifically for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. This has caused close to one hundred Falun Gong practitioners and their family members to suffer tremendous mental, physical and financial hardships. Within six years, nearly one hundred people have been detained, illegally sentenced, sent to labor camps, sent to drug rehabilitation centers, fired from their jobs, had their homes ransacked, possessions confiscated, and their wages cut. The following are accounts of just some of the persecution cases of practitioners in the Bohai Petroleum Group.

Ms. Liang Meixi, 55, was an employee at the Bohai Petroleum Group Employees' Hospital. At the beginning of 2002 she clarified the truth about Falun Gong, and was unlawfully sentenced to three and a half years in prison. While being tortured at the Tianjin City Women's Prison, her diabetes reappeared. When Ms. Liang returned home in August 2005, she was blind, could hardly move, and she couldn't take care of herself. Moreover, Ms. Liang, a widow with a daughter, had been fired from her workplace without any pay. She didn't have any workers' compensation or medical insurance to pay her medical expenses. On November 26, 2005, Ms. Liang Meixi suddenly went into shock and lost consciousness, and was taken to the hospital for emergency rescue by her daughter and others. She was diagnosed as having diabetic acidosis.

At the end of May 2005, simply for going on the Internet, Bohai Petroleum Group Design Corporation worker Ms. Wang Yanying was sent to and persecuted at the Zhaojiadi Lockup in Tanggu District for the third time by the company police and National Security personnel from Tanggu District Police Department. Under persecution for many years, Ms. Wang Yanying developed a psychological condition and sometimes entered a catatonic state. Now the labor contract she signed with the company is set to expire, and the unlawful people at her workplace threatened that if she didn't sign, guaranteeing to renounce practicing Falun Gong, they will not renew her contract. Ms. Wang Yanying is 43 years of age this year. She was pregnant when she was illegally arrested and jailed in the psychiatric ward. She was forced to take medications and take injections of drugs for psychiatric treatment. Ms. Wang was not released until she was just about to go into labor. Later, she was arrested again and tortured in Banqiao Forced Labor Camp, Dagang District. As many as twelve convicts struck her head with electric batons all at once.

Ms. Li Yanxia has experienced the persecution many times, which caused her body and mind to suffer much harm. In September 1999, because she went to Beijing to clarify the truth about Falun Gong, she was illegally jailed at Tanggu Detention Center for eight months. Because she was firm in her belief in the greatness of Falun Gong, her workplace forcibly took her to Tanggu Drug Rehabilitation Center, where she was brainwashed from mid-February 2001 to the end of April. While there she suffered severe mental trauma. She refused to sign the guarantee statement, so the authorities sent her to a detention center and subsequently to a forced labor camp. Because Ms. Li Yanxia refused to renounce her belief, she was illegally jailed for two and a half years. In prison she was made to sit on a wooden stool or stand still facing the wall for long periods of time as punishment. She was forced to watch television programs slandering Falun Gong. In September 2003 when Li Yanxia was released, she had already been illegally fired by her workplace. In early May, 2004, Ms. Li was seized in her home, and was persecuted in the Tanggu Lockup for six months. At that time, her 70-year-old mother was terrified. Afterwards, the unlawful personnel from the residence committee came to her home to force her to sign the guarantee statement, as well as threaten to go to her workplace to find her husband.

Ms. Li Weizhen was detained for a month when she went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in January 2001. After she came back, her company only paid her 75 yuan per month, although she was at work every day. In January 2002, Li Weizhen clarified the truth about Falun Gong, and was illegally sentenced to three years and six months in prison. While in prison, Ms. Li was beaten and abused to the point that she only had a few good teeth left. After all the mental and physical suffering, Ms. Li was fired by her workplace.

Ms. Zhou Xiuqin went to Beijing in October 1999 to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. When she returned, she was fined 700 yuan by the local police station. In May 2005, after Ms. Zhou sent her family members new articles written by Teacher, her home was illegally searched and her possessions confiscated. She was taken to the police station and was released only when her family members paid 5,000 yuan.

Mr. Cai worked at Bohai Petroleum Group Communications Company doing wireless repair work. When he was 40 years of age, at the company physical he was discovered to have high blood pressure, and artery diseases of the heart and brain. All of a sudden his mental pressure increased dramatically. Mr. Cai started practicing Falun Gong, and his body and mind all benefited tremendously. After July 20, 1999, because of rumors of the various media and the evil's imposing manner, Mr. Cai was deceived and gave up his practice. One day at work he had symptoms of stroke. He has been in a vegetative state ever since undergoing surgery, and is still in the hospital.

Practitioner Mr. Guo Zhiwei was originally from Qing County, Cangzhou City, Hebei Province. He was arrested by the Qingdong Police Station in Qing County on November 18, 2005 and taken to the Bohai Petroleum Group Oil Field Lockup.

The Security Bureau of Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province ganged up with the Boli County National Security Group to monitor and stalk practitioners, starting in November 2005. On December 20, they mobilized several police vehicles and dozens of police officers to persecute the practitioners in Boli County, arresting eleven practitioners. On December 23, they arrested another three practitioners.

Among those arrested, three practitioners' homes were ransacked. One computer was taken, as well as some CDs, Falun Gong materials and books. They also took a bankbook belonging to Mr. Li Li with a balance of 30,000 yuan on it. The rampage has forced many practitioners to leave home to avoid further persecution.

The names of those who have been arrested are: Ms. Li Meiying, Lv Yuhong, Li Xixin, Mr. Li Li, Li Li's wife (Mrs. Tian), Tian, Ms. Zhu Lianying, Ms. Mou (in her sixties), Ms. Xu Feng, Tong Zhongchen, Sun, Ms. Xu Guiying, Ms. Ding Libo and Ms. Zhang Min.

The practitioners are now being jailed at Qitaihe City Detention Center or Boli County Detention Center. Further details are unknown. We hope that people who are in the know can provide more information. We suggest that practitioners in Boli County, Qitaihe City, and the surrounding area, do more to clarify the truth to local residents to stop the persecution.

Practitioner Ms. Liu Dan is from Jixi City, Helongjiang Province. She suffers from bleeding peptic ulcers as the result of persecution. Those who persecuted her were afraid to take the responsibility so they released Ms. Liu to her family. On December 14, 2005, her family took her home from the detoxification center. Shortly after that, Liu Dan was illegally detained again by Hengshan District Police Department, and was held in a private room near the Large Hengshan Mine Jiukeng. There were about ten policemen who monitored Ms. Liu around the clock.

Ms. Liu Dan, age 29, was arrested on October 24, 2005 by police from Jiguan District Police Department. She suffered inhuman torture and humiliation. Detailed information about the persecution of Liu Dan can be found on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website (November 12, 2005, "Ms. Liu Dan, 29, Brutally Tortured by the Jixi City Police for Five Days and Four Nights").

On November 24, 2005, Liu Dan was sentenced to three years in a labor camp. Practitioner Chen Lichun, who was illegally arrested at the same time, was sent to a detoxification center in Helongjiang Province. The detoxification center refused to take Liu Dan because she did not pass the minimum health requirement; she had severe bleeding peptic ulcers. Jiguan District Police Department threw Ms. Liu into the detoxification hospital for treatment. Her condition did not improve. The detoxification center asked the Bureau to take her back into their custody but they shifted the responsibility to Hengshan District Police Department.

Deputy Director Sun Mengshan (actively persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, has been exposed on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website many times) refused to take Ms. Liu Dan, and released her to her family. Shortly after that, the police from Hengshan Police Department took her away again, to a private room, and used about ten policemen to monitor her around clock. They still won't let Ms. Liu go home.

Three elderly Falun Gong practitioners in their 70s living in Shunyi District, Beijing City passed away as a result of the persecution they suffered. Mr. Liu Jingchen passed away in March 2003, at the age of 78, Ms. Shan Yonghua passed away in June 2001, at the age of 70, and Ms. Wang Yunfeng passed away in November 2002, at the age of 70.

Mr. Liu Jingchen was from Baita Village, Shayu Township, Shunyi District, Beijing City. Mr. Liu began practicing Falun Gong in 1996. He practiced Buddhism prior to that time. After the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, officials from a local 610 Office and from the Security Committee constantly came to visit Mr. Liu and harass him, yet they were unable to force him to give up Falun Gong. In 2002, Mr. Liu's daughter was brainwashed and believed the Chinese Communist Party's propaganda. She cooperated with local 610 Office agents to stop her father from studying the principle of Falun Gong and practicing the exercises. She even helped send him to be forcibly brainwashed. Mr. Liu was so affected by his daughter's persecution that he developed a mental disorder. He passed away in March 2003.

Ms. Shan Yonghua was from Linhe Village in Renhe Town, Shunyi District. She started practicing Falun Gong in June 1998. Ms. Shan suffered from serious heart disease and a stroke. She could not even sit up in bed. At first, while lying in bed, she could only listen to the tapes of Master's lectures. However, several months after she started practicing, Ms. Shan completely recovered. On July 21, 1999, Ms. Shan went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. On her way there, the police stopped her. In the spring of 2000, Ms. Shan went to Tiananmen Square to do the exercises in order to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. After that Yu Shuiwang, from the local Linhe Police Station, constantly harassed her. Yu is currently at Liqiao Police Station. Shi Zhanjun, from Linhe Village Security Committee, also monitored Ms. Shan for a long period. In June 2001, Ms. Shan was forced to attend a photo exhibit slandering Falun Gong. She also lost her freedom, and people followed her even when she went to the restroom. Several days after she attended the exhibit, Ms. Shan suffered a relapse of her old illness. After medical treatments failed to cure her, she passed away.

Ms. Wang Yunfeng was from Xiapo Village. She had many illnesses prior to practicing Falun Gong and completely recovered after she began the practice. After the persecution against Falun Gong started in 1999, officials from the local 610 Office and from the Security Committee worked with her family members to stop her from studying the principle of Falun Gong and practicing the exercises. Soon the illnesses Ms. Wang suffered before practicing Falun Gong returned. She passed away in November 2002.

Since early 2005, Shunyi District officials have intensified the pressure to force Falun Gong practitioners to write the three statements. Many practitioners were sentenced to forced labor immediately after police officers broke into their homes. In 2000, practitioner Ms. Li Hongjun was sentenced to one year forced labor. In 2002, Ms. Li was sentenced to two years of forced labor again. In 2005 she was again sentenced to another two and a-half years of forced labor. They sent her to the 4th Group of Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp in October 2005. Beiwu Police Station personnel arrested Falun Gong practitioner Hou Yongchun on August 17, 2005. Practitioner Yang Wenping from Dongzhuanghu Village in Yang Town suffered broken legs due to the persecution, yet she was still carried away from home and sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor.

1. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Many Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced Without Due Cause

In March 2005, Gansu Province's Lanzhou City's Qilihe District Court sentenced Falun Gong practitioners who were secretly arrested in June 2004 by the Lanzhou City Police Department No. 26 Division. The Falun Gong practitioners and their sentences are detailed below:

Mr. Li Baosheng - 7 years
Ms. Jin Xiaoqin - 4 years
Ms. Zhang Minghai - 3 years
Ms. Liu Xiuying - 3 years
Ms. Tian Juhong - 2-years

They are currently detained at the Lanzhou City Dashaping Prison and Gansu Province Women's Prison, without due process.

2. [Tianjin City] Two Falun Gong Practitioners from Tangku District Arrested

The Police arrested Falun Gong practitioners Li Ping and Cao Fengqin Xingang Area, Tangku District, Tianjing City. At around noon on December 19, 2005, Li Ping was arrested while leaving the home of Cao Fengqin. Police then arrested Cao Fengqin and ransacked their homes. They confiscated Cao Fengqin's child's computer.

3. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Ms. Guo Guiju Arrested by the 610 Office for Clarifying the Truth

Ms. Guo Guiju worked at Xuchang College in Henan Province. During the night of December 20, 2005, 610 Office official Wen Jianwei and a team of ten police officers arrested Guo for clarifying the truth and detained her at Xuchang City Detention Center.

4. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhu Yanbin Beaten and Detained by Police

Falun Gong practitioner Zhu Yanbin, from Baoding City's rural district Dongkangge Village, is a driver of electrically operated three-wheeled carts. On December 14, 2005, a plainclothes policeman pretending to be a customer deceived Zhu and took him to Nanshi District Police Department, where he was severely beaten. In the afternoon, at around 2:00 p.m., Zhu Yanbin's wife was also brought to that police station and forced to watch Zhu Yanbin being severely beaten by six policemen. Their home was ransacked. Currently, Zhu Yanbin is detained at Baoding Detention Center.

5. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Practitioner Mr. Gao Xiuzhen Forced Into Sanshui Brainwashing Center

Falun Gong practitioner Gao Xiuzhen, 65, was arrested in Haizhou District, Guangzhou City on November 3, 2005, while he was distributing truth clarification materials. He was taken to Sanshui brainwashing center on November 4, and family visits were refused.

1. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liang Yunqing Arrested

Practitioner Mr. Liang Yunqing, age 61, suffered from lymphatic cancer before he started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. After undergoing chemotherapy, he lost almost all of his hair. Because he is from a poor family, he ran out of money for further treatment. Just at that time, he began to learn Falun Gong and miraculously regained his health. After the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, Mr. Liang was brutally beaten and detained repeatedly. Mr. Liang lived in a small village, together with a younger brother and his elderly mother, who is bedridden because of paralysis.

On the evening of December 24, 2005, Practitioner Mr. Liang, who is from Zhuoshan Village, Haogezhuang Town of Zhucheng City, was taking a walk when police officer Zhang Chongguang (male) from the Haogezhuang Police Station searched him and then took him to the Haogezhuang Police Station.

The following day, Zhang Chongguang took a search warrant and led other police officers from the Zhucheng City Police Department to ransack the home of Mr. Liang and Ms. Leng Xiu. They confiscated Falun Gong books from his house and took him to the Zhucheng City Detention Center.

2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Xu Bin Tortured until Critically Ill in Heizuizi Prison

Practitioner Mr. Xu Bin from Changchun City suffered from brutal torture after he was arrested by police from the Luyuan District Police Department of Changchun City on October 28, 2005. He is currently being illegally held in Changchun City's Hezuizi Prison. Recently his family members were notified that Mr. Xu Bin was critically ill and his life was endangered.

Practitioners Ms. Wang Shouhui and her son, Mr. Liu Boyang, were arrested on the same day as Mr. Xu Bin. Both Ms. Yang and her son have since been tortured to death.

3. [Jilin Province] Mr. He Bo from the Jilin Agriculture University Illegally Arrested by the Police

Practitioner Mr. He Bo, age 42, previously worked at the Printing Factory of the Jilin Agriculture University. Later, because he refused to give up his faith in Falun Gong, he was reassigned to work in the reception office. On December 23, 2005, Mr. He Bo was illegally taken away by police from the Jingyue Tourism Economic Development District of Changchun City.

4. [Fuyang City, Auhui Province] Ms. Yang Mingjie and 68 Other Practitioners Arrested and Detained

Between July 2005 and October 2005, 69 Falun Gong practitioners from Fuyang City, including Ms. Yang Mingjie, Mr. Yuan Hanwen, Ms. Liu Yun and Ms. Zhu Suxia, were arrested and detained. Ms. Yang Mingjie has been taken to the Hefei City Women's Forced Labor Camp.

In addition, the Criminal Written Judgment from the Yingzhou District Court of Fuyang City (Order No. 55 in 2005 of the elementary court) handed down the following sentences to these Falun Gong practitioners:

5. [Liaoning Province] Ms. Dong Jingmin and Two Other Practitioners Illegally Detained in the Donggang City Detention Center in Liaoning Province

In early October 2005, practitioners Ms. Dong Jingmin from Xiuyan County, Ms. Li Congzhi, and Mr. Liu Yuchen from Gushan Town were arrested. They are still being illegally held in Donggang City Detention Center.

6. [Shanghai City] Mr. Jiang Yexiang Illegally Arrested Again

Practitioner Mr. Jiang Yexiang was sentenced to four and a half years of imprisonment in October 2000. He was brutally tortured in the Tilanqiao Prison and repeatedly went on hunger strikes to protest the persecution. In April 2005, Mr. Jiang walked out of the prison with dignity. In the middle of November 2005, Mr. Jiang Yexiang went missing again.

7. [Tianjin City] Ms. You Fengyun Arrested

On December 27, 2005, police officers from Niudaokou Town Police Station in Baodi District, Tianjin City broke into residential housing and illegally arrested practitioner Ms. You Fengyun.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cui Xiuqin Taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
