 Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhao Shuying from Zhangjiakou City has been suffering from the brutality of slave labor in the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp and also from severe torture by guards, including Wei Hongling (female). Her physical body is extremely weak and she suffers from urinary incontinence, is frequently dizzy and often loses consciousness.

Ms. Zhao Shuying, thirty-eight years old, lived in Yu County of Zhangjiakou City. On January 6, 2005, she was taken to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp. It was winter, but Ms. Zhao was wearing only a thin autumn jacket when she was forced to go out to work in the snow to gather grass for feeding the ostriches. This caused the relapse of her leg joint arthritis. Later, Ms. Zhao was relocated to work in a carpet factory, but because she was too weak, she fainted on the way to work in May of this year.

When Zhao Shuying was sent to the county hospital for examination, she was diagnosed as having cervical vertebra osteohyperplasia, with the proliferated bones crushing the cerebral nerves. From then on, Ms. Zhao was bedridden. On November 7, 2005, the Forced Labor Camp carried out a search and the guards forced Falun Gong practitioners to take off their clothes in order to search for Falun Gong books and materials. When Ms. Zhao Shuying was waiting to be searched, she suddenly experienced dizziness and fell out of her chair and later entered a state of coma, with urinary incontinence.

Later, Ms. Zhao Shuying was sent to the Gaoyang County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital (this hospital has been colluding with Yang Zemin, the head of the guards in the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp and has acted as accomplice in helping the forced labor camp to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in the past several years). The medical personnel in this hospital have a terrible attitude towards Falun Gong practitioners. When they failed to diagnose the cause of Ms. Zhao's symptoms, the head of the guards Wei Hongling (female) accused Ms. Zhao Shuying of faking the symptoms. On January 15, 2005, Wei Hongling ordered several guards to carry Ms. Zhao to a place on the first floor, specially designated for torturing Falun Gong practitioners. They applied brutal torture methods on her and used electric batons to shock her hands and feet.

Ms. Zhao Shuying was already in and out of consciousness; she had not taken any food for nine days. After the torture, her physical body became even weaker, and she constantly experienced headache, dizziness and unconsciousness, with urinary incontinence. The guard Wei Hongling was still constantly threatening Ms. Zhao, "If we cannot find the cause of your illness, we will not let you go."

After reading the article "How Falun Gong practitioners Wang Enguo, Li Zhiguo, Sun Shuying and Others in Changchun City Were Arrested" in the Minghui Weekly, I would like to add more details.

At around 5:00 p.m. on March 8, 2005, the police opened Ms. Sun Shuying's residence with a key. Five to six policemen barged in. There were three other practitioners present--Mr. Li Zhenjie, Ms. Li Zhenyu, and another young man who had just arrived.

After the police forced their way in they started to ransack the room. They illegally subjected the practitioners to a body search. They confiscated the male practitioner's identification cards and phonebooks. They also pulled his hair and slapped him on the mouth. They confiscated dozens of yuan from Ms. Li Zhenyu's pocket and put the money into their own pockets. The police also videotaped the practitioners and confiscated the following: 10,000 yuan in cash, four hand-held phones, two MP3 players, two computers (one desktop and one notebook), and also some VCD recorders and other items.

The police dragged the four practitioners into the basement of the Jincheng District Police Department in front of their residence to be illegally interrogated. They used torture devices on each of them. After two days and two nights, they sent Ms. Li Zhenyu to the Shuangyang No. 3 Detention Center. Ms. Li did not cooperate with them. She shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" The people at the detention center did not dare to accept her. The police had to negotiate with the detention center authorities for a long time before they reluctantly accepted her.

The next afternoon, the police sent Ms. Li Zhenyu and Ms. Sun Shuying to the Shuangyang No.3 Detention Center. Then they transferred Ms. Li to Dehui City Detention Center in her hometown.

The people from the Dehui City Politics and Security Section and the Security Division tried to plot to send her to forced labor, but Ms. Li Zhenyu negated their plans with the power of her righteous thoughts. She was released after 15 days of detention.

After Ms. Sun Shuying was detained at the No.3 Detention Center, the police subjected her to illegal interrogation and tortured her. According to insider information, the police have broken one of Ms. Sun's legs.

The police issued a written notice to authorize the arrest of Mr. Li Zhenjie's family members. In mid-September 2005, the Luuyuan District Court, without informing his family members and without their presence or the presence of the public, held an illegal court session for Mr. Li. Mr. Li Zhenjie did not answer any of their questions and clarified the truth about Falun Gong with righteousness and assertive words. The court session ended hastily.

Presently, Mr. Li Zhenjie's family members are trying all kinds of ways to rescue him. They went to relevant authorities to ask for his release. The police officers that arrested and interrogated the practitioners are from the No. 4 National Security Division in the Changchun City Police Department. We hope that practitioners either in China or overseas who learn of this incident will support rescue efforts.

 The police in Daqing City recently started to harass and persecute Falun Gong disciples again. The statement of a deputy director of the police department completely exposes the party's evil nature.

The deputy director from Daqing City said, "How can we be called the Chinese Communist Party's police if we do not torture? So as long as we think you are the one who did it, you must admit it whether you really did it or not. We will push you down to the ground and four police officers will use rubber hoses to beat you one by one for half an hour. Your back will be swollen an inch high. It will be worse when your body is bruised and lacerated. Then we will put salt on your back and step on your wounds. Who will not confess after suffering from this? But even this torture is not effective on Falun Gong practitioners. To deal with them, you have to use spiritual torture as well as physical torture. Besides beating them, we also won't let them sleep for a few days. We intend to crush their souls! Hahaha! But you know it is really weird that none of these tortures work on Falun Gong practitioners. They are not afraid of death. We really have no other ways!"

Recently, the police at Chengfeng Village, Ranghu Road and other areas in Daqing City started harassing Falun Gong disciples again. Most of the time, the police were plainclothes. They used the excuse of examining permanent residence registrations or inspecting fire and security protection systems to trick the practitioners into opening their doors.

Police officers from the National Security Department have again arrested Falun Gong practitioners Bai He, Wang Yin and other two practitioners. On December 13, 2005, around 4:30 p.m., police officers from the National Security Department in Jilin City surrounded the right side entrance of the No. 2 Building of the residential area of the Provincial Mechanical Factory in the Changyi District, Jilin City. They attempted to break into rooms to arrest people. Around 5:30 p.m., six cars surrounded the building and more than half a dozen plainclothes police officers waited across from the building. In addition, a few plainclothes police officers waited in ambush near the entrance of the building, ready to arrest people.

From around 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., police officers broke into Bai He's dwelling and arrested him. He was dragged into a police vehicle. Bystanders also saw a practitioner falling from the seventh floor, and she was sent to the Jilin City No. 2 Hospital (Tumor Hospital) for treatment. It was said that four practitioners were arrested. Further details are to be investigated.

Mr. Bai He, 39 years old, was an official of the No. 47 Division of the Army in Jilin City, Jilin Province. On July 22, 1999, because he went Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong, he was illegally arrested at his workplace and was placed under surveillance. His managers also ordered Mr. Bai to resign from the army, and he was later sentenced to a forced labor camp. In October 2000, Bai He went to Beijing to appeal to the government again, was arrested and persecuted by the local police. He was sentenced to forced labor for two years, and was cruelly tortured in the Jilin Forced Labor Camp. On July 15, 2005, police officers from the Security Bureau in Jilin City arrested Bai He at his temporary residence somewhere in Southern China, and then detained him at a secret place at the West Bank of the Songhua River which is under the jurisdiction of the National Security Bureau in Jilin City. Police officers handcuffed his hands behind his back, and also deprived him of sleep for an extended period. Meanwhile, they tortured him mentally. A few days later, police from the National Security Bureau secretly sent Bai He to the Fushun Brainwashing Center.

Practitioner Ms. Wang Yin was an employee of Jilin City Radiation Chemical Industry Company. On July 15, police officers from Jilin City National Security Bureau forced Wang Yin's manager to deceive her into going to the company. Ms. Wang saw through their plot, and did not show up. Later, they arrested her department Manager, Zhang Liping. On July 17, 2005, after police officers talked Ms. Wang's mother into opening the door, they ransacked her home and confiscated some Falun Gong truth-clarification materials, and Ms. Wang was forced to leave home to avoid being arrested.

 Ms. Zhou Shuying, a Falun Gong practitioner in Dachang County, Hebei Province, died of persecution by the local 610 Office and police on December 24, 2004. Han Zhiguang, head of 610 Office in Langfang City, Hebei Province, stopped at nothing in his attempt to brainwash and "transform" Falun Gong practitioners. He even made up a story about deceased practitioner Zhou Shuying. He distorted the facts to deceive practitioners forced to undergo brainwashing sessions. He maintained that Ms. Zhou died because she refused to take medicine after practicing Falun Gong.

Let me briefly tell you what actually happened to Ms. Zhou Shuying.

Ms. Zhou was 64 years old when she passed away. She lived in Qianchengxiang Village, Dachang County, Hebei Province. When she was 18 years old, she contracted rheumatic arthritis and had to quit school. Her hands and body were deformed. Her body was bent at a 90^o angle. Her height was lowered from 5 feet 3 inches to 4 feet 11 inches. Later she contracted rheumatic lumbago, a serious case of rheumatic spondylitis and glaucoma. She later suffered from rheumatic heart disease and cervical spondylosis.

Ms. Zhou Shuying began to practice Falun Gong in January 1998. Her many diseases were quickly cured without any treatment. What's more magical was that her height grew to 5 feet 2 inches. More than a dozen people in her village began to practice Falun Gong after witnessing the changes in her. There was a brief article about how Zhou Shuying benefited from practicing Falun Gong in the special issue of "Falun Dafa Is Good" (page 37, Volume 1) published in the Langfang area before the persecution began (July 20, 1999).

Since the persecution began, Dachang County Police Department, 610 Office, the municipal government, and the local police station often harassed Ms. Zhou at her home. They would break in and search her home without permission.

One day, Liu Chunguang and He Fengcheng from the Political Security Division of the County Police Department drove to Ms. Zhou's home. They wanted to take Ms. Zhou to the police department for questioning. She refused to go with them but was forced into their police car. As it started down the road, Ms. Zhou opened the car door and jumped out. They finally took her to the local village office, pounded on a table and loudly interrogated her.

In November 2001, staff from the county 610 Office and the Political and Judiciary Commissions in the town government dragged Ms. Zhou Shuying to the county brainwashing center in an attempt to "transform" her. Ms. Zhou's husband, Zhou Xiangtian, was very sick. He was left at home with no one to care for him. After that, Ms. Zhou was often taken from her home and interrogated without any legal process.

For a long time, Ms. Zhou lived in terror of the evil communist party. The wicked police frequently harassed and persecuted her. She was under enormous pressure and her health deteriorated. Ms. Zhou was hospitalized twice in November and December 2004, but the treatments didn't help. She died of a heart attack on December 24, 2004 in the county hospital.

Mr. Xue Yutian, who was around fifty-six years old, lived in Gujialing Village, Wangjiazhuang Town, Anqiu City in Shandong Province. Before Mr. Xue Yutian started to practice Falun Gong, he was so ill that he had totally lost his ability to take care of himself. In order to treat his illnesses, he was overloaded with debt. In May 1997, Mr. Xue Yutian started to practice Falun Gong. He gradually regained his health and he could do almost all kinds of farm work by the autumn of 1997. When the Jiang regime started to openly persecute Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members from the Gujialing Village of Wangjiazhuang Town tried to force Mr. Xue Yutian to give up Falun Gong numerous times, leading to the recurrence of Mr. Xue's old illnesses. Finally, Mr. Xue Yutian passed away in the middle of November 2005.

After July 20, 1999, the CCP members from Wangjiazhuang Town and Gujialing Village of Anqiu City went to Mr. Xue Yutian's home to harass and force Mr. Xue Yutian to give up practicing Falun Gong. Less than a month after he stopped practicing, Mr. Xue Yutian's old illness symptoms returned. He became bedridden, lost the ability to take care of himself, and needed his wife to feed him. When the CCP Secretary of the village learned of the situation, his conscience was awakened and he went to Mr. Xue Yutian's home. He told Mr. Xue, "You became healthy because of practicing Falun Gong. You should hurry up and practice again." Mr. Xue Yutian started to practice Falun Gong again. His health gradually recovered and he could work again.

In October 2000, out of fear that Mr. Xue Yutian might go to Beijing to appeal, CCP officials in Wangjiazhuang Town pressured Mr. Xue Yutian's younger brother Xue Yulin, who is the head of the town Birth Planning Office, with the statement that if Mr. Xue Yutian continued to practice Falun Gong, then they would dismiss Xue Yulin from his post. Xue Yulin then went back home to gather his brothers and cousins with a total of over ten people, who all went to Mr. Xue Yutian's house to force him to give up his belief in Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance. They also forcibly broke open the lock with tools and stole all of the Falun Gong books. Mr. Xue Yutian was forced to give up practicing Falun Gong. In January 2001, Mr. Xue again had severe illness symptoms and lost the ability to take care of himself. Later, after communicating with fellow practitioners, Mr. Xue Yutian started to study the Fa and he regained his health half a year later.

In the spring of 2003, in the environment of the CCP's inhumane persecution of Falun Gong, Mr. Xue Yutian again was forced to give up practicing Falun Gong. For the third time, his body showed the illness symptoms. He was no longer able to move, and he even needed other people's help to roll over. He also lost his vision and was bedridden for over two years. He finally passed away in the middle of November 2005.

1. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Four Women Practitioners Interrogated While Being Tortured with Excruciating Methods

On the evening of November 17, 2005, Li Zhuo and other policemen from the Shulan City National Security Team illegally arrested four women Falun Gong practitioners: Ms. Guo Xiuqing, Ms. Yang Hongmei, Ms. Li Shuyun, and Ms. Wang Yanqin. Later on, Li Zhuo and other policemen interrogated these four practitioners in the National Security Team while force-feeding them mustard powder. They also punched and kicked their chests and shocked them with electric batons. They even forced the practitioners to open their legs and humiliated them with obscene language.

2. [Tianjin] Zhu Limin Stages a Hunger Strike to Protest a Five-year Prison Term

Practitioner Ms. Zhu Limin from the Wuqing District is determined in practicing Falun Gong. The police arrested her and have detained her for over five years. At present, Ms. Zhu is still being incarcerated in the Banqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp in the Dagang District, Tianjin. Her term has been extended several times. Zhu Limin is staging a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

3. [Laiwu City, Shandong Province] Personnel at the Jinan City Women's Forced Labor Camp Continue to Hold Practitioner Zhang Fuxiang After Her Term Expired

On October 4, 2002, practitioner Zhang Fuxiang from Laiwu City was sentenced to forced labor at the Shangdong Province No. 1 Women's Forced Labor Camp. Zhang Fuxiang believes in Teacher steadfastly, persists in practicing Falun Gong, and refused to be "transformed". At present, she has been detained 76 days beyond her term.

4. [Beijing] Huang Derui Arrested and Home Ransacked

On the morning of December 6, 2005, several policemen from the No. 1 Team of the Huayuan Road Police Station in the Haidian District ransacked practitioner Huang Derui's home and confiscated many Falun Gong books, truth-clarification materials and a small photocopier. Huang Derui is currently being held at the Qinghe Detention Center.

1. [Yongji City, Jilin Province] Yang Chunman Illegally Sentenced to Twelve Years of Imprisonment

On May 26, 2005, Yang Chunman, a Falun Gong practitioner from Yongji County, was arrested at home by the Police Department of Yongji County and illegally detained in the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp for one year. He spent July and August at the Shulan City Detention Center by Shulan City Police Department where he was tortured for several months. On the basis of fabricated evidence, Yang Chunman was illegally sentenced to twelve years of imprisonment. He is currently being detained at Shulan City Detention Center. Yang Chunman didn't accept the verdict of the court and filed an appeal to a higher court.

2. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Falun Gong Practitioners Li Jianmin and Liu Jianjun Arrested in Zhangjiakou City

On December 21, 2005 Mr. Li Jiangming was arrested by Nanyingfang Police Substation in Zhangjiakou City and he is being currently detained at the Shisanli Detention Center of Zhangjiakou City.

3. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] He Congping Was Arrested and Taken to a Brainwashing Class

On December 2, 2005, Ms. He Congping (in her forties, retired) from Gezhouba, Yichang City, Hubei Province was deceived by managers of her company -- the Eighth Gezhouba Company -- to attend a meeting. Then her company's 610 Office, the security division and the National Security Team of Pinghu Publice Security Department forcibly arrested her and sent her to Wuhan Brainwashing Class. He Congping was illegally sentenced for one year of forced labor in 2000 because she practiced Falun Gong.

4. [Yuling City, Guangxi Province] He Aiping, He Zulu and Huang Leguang Were Arrested and Their Houses Ransacked by the Police

In early December 2005, police from the Yulin City National Security Bureau and 610 Office illegally ransacked the homes of Ms. He Aiping, Mr. He Zulu and Mr. Huang Leguang and secretly arrested them. Since October 1999, Ms. He Aiping has been repeatedly arrested because she firmly believes in Falun Gong. She has been illegally sentenced to three years of imprisonment and three years in a forced labor camp. Soon after she was released, police arrested her again. Huang Leguang was also sentenced for one year in a forced labor camp, and his wife Li Xiaomei (Falun Gong practitioner) was tortured to death in May 2005.

5. [Xingning City, Guangdong Province] Huang Zongpeng Arrested Secretly

On December 18, 2005 Mr. Huang Zongpeng from Xingning City, Guangdong Province was secretly arrested at Longtian Town, Xingning City, then detained at the Xingning Detention Center. Afterwards his house was ransacked.

6. [Dingxing City, Hebei Province] Shi Chunmei Couple Was Arrested

Shi Chunmei and her husband (non-practitioner) from Dingxing County, Hebei Province were reported when they clarified the truth on December 22, 2005. At around 2:00 p.m. they were arrested by the Public Security Department of Dingxing County.

7. [Jixi City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Including Zhang Bao Were Arrested

At 6:00 a.m. on October 18, 2005, three policemen from Didaohebei Police Substation jumped over the wall and entered the home of Mr. Zhang Bao and Ms. Jing Yongmei. They illegally searched the house and then took the couple to Hebei Police Substation and illegally interrogated them until 3:00 p.m. The police then sent them to the Second Detention Center at Jixi and illegally detained them there. On December 7 a female fellow practitioner named Pan was arrested. On December 23, another female practitioner at the Power Station in Jixi was illegally arrested.

8. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Wang Yujuan from Xinbin County Was Illegally Extorted of 8000 Yuan

During August 2005, Ms. Wang Yujuan from Yongling Town, Xinbin County was reported and then arrested by police officer Fang Jie from Yongling Police Substation. Under orders from Guo Huawei, head of the police substation, 8000 yuan was extorted from her. She was then released.

9. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Xie Haifeng Was Secretly Arrested by the National Security Department of Chengdu City

On June 19, 2005 Mr. Xie Haifeng was secretly arrested by the National Security Bureau of Chengdu City, it was just learned that he was detained at the local "Legal Education Training Class" (brainwashing class).
