  • UK Government Concerned about Human Organ Harvesting in China

The UK Foreign Office has expressed concern regarding organ harvesting in China. In a statement dated late March, the Foreign Office said: "The UK Government is concerned about the practice of organ harvesting from prisoners subject to the death penalty in China and reports of illegal trafficking of organs. We understand that some 600,000 people in China each year require organ transplants and that there is a great shortage of organs due to social taboos about transplants. We also understand that the Chinese Government has acknowledged the practice of organ harvesting from these prisoners and the trade in their organs."

The Foreign Office said: "We are concerned about the use of such prisoners' organs." They also said: "Should we obtain other information in the future which substantiates the claims, we would certainly consider raising the issue with the Chinese authorities."

The Foreign Office expressed a supportive view: "The Government continues to have concerns about human rights abuses against Falun Gong adherents in other contexts and will continue to raise those on appropriate occasions with the Chinese authorities."

Practitioners in Asia-Pacific Region Gather to Condemn Sujiatun Atrocities and Expose Persecution

On April 8, 2006, "Press Conference of Asia-Pacific Region Condemning Sujiatun Atrocities and Exposing CCP Persecution" was held in Tainan, Taiwan. The conference was initiated by practitioners in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Thailand, and Macao to expose and condemn Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for its setting up at least 36 concentration camps similar to Sujiatun Concentration Camp. The organs are harvested for profit from the living bodies of Falun Gong practitioners, and the remains are cremated to destroy the evidence.

Condemning CCP atrocities and supporting nearly ten million withdrawals from CCP

People from all walks of life hold banners and posters around Dongning Park, forming a "great wall of truth."

The press conference was hosted by Taiwan Falun Dafa Association, Taiwan Association of Rescuing the persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners, and The Epoch Times.

A reenactment of live organ removal and a "Great Wall of Truth" were also held. Guests including Lai Qing-de, member of Legislative Committee, Chen Jian-guo, confidential secretary of city government, three city council members and several doctors and scholars were invited to participate.

Mr. Yang from the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association said, "The CCP is destroying evidence and a massacre is occurring. On April 4, 2006, the Falun Dafa Association and the Minghui website founded 'The Integrated Committee to Investigate the Secret Sujiatun Concentration Camp and the Facts of the Persecution of Falun Gong in China'. We invite all related international organizations, state agencies and media to join us in requesting to go to China to conduct an independent, direct, interference-free investigation to collect evidence, and completely search for the truth of the persecution of Falun Gong, including the Sujiatun Concentration Camp and other secret concentration camps. Let the facts of the persecution be exposed as soon as possible, so that this brutal persecution that has lasted almost seven years can end."

Member of Legislative Committee Lai Qing-de calls on Taiwan people about two issues from his standpoint as a doctor

Member of Legislative Committee Lai Qing-de calls on Taiwan people about two issues from his standpoint as a doctor, "The first issue is that one should not go to China for organ transplantation for personal health because market needs will make Falun Gong practitioners and other people become victims. The second issue is that one should not only be interested in China's vast market, but not pay attention to the evil nature of CCP. Innocent people are persecuted there. Otherwise, you yourself will be harmed at last."

    Prof. Ai Chang-rui

Prof. Ai Chang-rui analyzed the possible existence of a large number of people as living organ sources in China from the point of view of business management, sales and marketing. He gave two examples. The Urology Department of No 2 Military Medical University carried an advisement on its website: kidney supply has good quality, kidney functions quickly after surgery, kidney supply is ample and waiting time is short. The Organ transplantation Institute of Shenyang Medical University carried an advertisement in its website: Waiting time for kidney transplantation is generally less than one week, at most one month a suitable supplier will be found; waiting time for liver transplantation is at most about two months to find a suitable supplier. It also stressed that if the supplied liver is found unsuitable during operation, another supplier can be found within one week. One can see that there must be a huge living organ supply source. The advertisement is run in many languages including Chinese, English, Korean, Russian and Japanese.

The secretary of Tainan city government said the government should support Falun Dafa Association to expose and condemn CCP's evil nature.

Doctor Chong Shun-qian from Qimei Hospital pointed out that an article on the website of Shanghai Fudan University mentioned that within the last five years, 92 people from Gaohsing had liver transplantation in mainland China. He called on those in medical circles to not become accomplices of the cruel regime. Medical doctors should think: Does it conform to medical ethics to encourage patients to go to mainland China to have organ transplantation?
