  • "If You Don't Give Us Your Names, We'll Throw You into a Concentration Camp Far from Here"

During the last two days of 1999, I went to Beijing for the third time by myself, to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. I was illegally arrested at Tiananmen Square, as were some other practitioners. A bus took us for a one-hour drive to a jail in Hebei Province. That place was a hell on earth, where I endured inhumane torture. In the end, we were forced into handcuffs and taken to different police stations around Hebei Province. I and a few other Falun Gong practitioners were released on the second day. We had escaped from the lion's den and were extremely happy, but we didn't realize that this was part of their plot. When the car arrived at Sanhe City, a few police officers charged into the car and tried to force us to curse Falun Gong and our Teacher. We refused to go along with them, and said that Falun Dafa is good. Therefore, two other Falun Gong practitioners and I were arrested again.

At that time there were many practitioners appealing in Beijing every day, more than the Beijing jails and forced labor camps could hold. Security at the Beijing Rail Station was extremely tight. Practitioners from all over the country had to get off the train a few stops before Beijing and then catch a bus or drive there. However, all the roads to Beijing were also blocked.

Sanhe City is a passageway to Beijing. Police were guarding this location. By the time I arrived, they had already arrested more than 100 Falun Gong practitioners from Sichuan City. Afterwards, more and more practitioners were arrested. On the last day of 1999, I was detained in a dark and damp garage with many female practitioners from Sichuan City. A practitioner from Sichuan Province told me, "I came here before you did. Every day there are hundreds of practitioners being thrown in here, and later they will be taken away."

I saw that most practitioners were from Sichuan Province. Their outfits were very thin and plain. Some were even carrying baskets and they were very poor, but they were all steadfast and determined. Although the police beat them with electric batons, they refused to say where they were from. Later, I saw the officials from the Sichuan office in Beijing come and take all the Sichuan practitioners away. As far as I know, none of the Sichuan practitioners gave their names.

The Sanhe City police officers and people from the Sichuan office in Beijing told them, "If you don't reveal your names, we'll throw you into a concentration camp very far from here, where you will be detained and no one will know you." Later, I overheard them say, "There are concentration camps for detaining Falun Gong practitioners in Northeast China and near Xinjiang Province." I saw busloads of Falun Gong practitioners who refused to give their names being taken away.

A few days ago I heard the reports exposing the fact that more than 6,000 Falun Gong practitioners were held at Sujiatun in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. Personally, I believe these practitioners are mostly those who went to Beijing to appeal and those who refused to reveal their names. I suggest that all international human rights organizations focus their investigations on the Sanhe City Police Department in Hebei Province.

The Arrest of Rape Victim Liu Jizhi and Her Daughter by Police from Beijing National Security and Hebei Police Department

Around 11:00 a.m. on March 7, 2006, officers from the Beijing National Security Bureau and Hebei Police Department arrived in two police cars with over ten policemen to arrest practitioner Ms. Liu Jizhi, who was raped last year in police custody, and her 19-year-old daughter Wei Meiling. They were arrested at the gate of the Air Force Research Institute Logistics Department near Xisanqi, Haiding District, Beijing City.

After Ms. Liu Jizhi bravely exposed the rape that occurred on November 25, 2005 in Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province, the Chinese Communist regime delayed the trial of policeman He Xuejian, who committed the rape, and tried to sweep the crime under the table. They offered a reward for the arrest of Liu Jizhi and put a tracer on Ms. Liu and others who stood by her side and exposed the evil persecution. On February 23, 2006, Baoding City held a meeting in Zhuozhou. They decided to arrest the victims Liu Jizhi and Han Yuzhi before the trial of policeman He Xuejian. He had threatened to "kill the witnesses," because "the dead can't give witness." This would have effectively ended the trial.

Ms. Liu Jizhi had to leave home to avoid further persecution and she became homeless. Due to severe mental and physical trauma as a result of the rape and the lack of justice afterwards, Liu Jizhi even displayed symptoms of mental collapse at one time. In order to take care of Liu Jizhi, her eldest daughter Wei Meiling who studied at Zhuozhou City Geology Bureau High School and was close to taking the college entrance examination, had to halt her studies one day before the beginning of the term. She became homeless with her mother, and they concealed their identities. Liu Jizhi's alias became "Shan Yuzhen."

Air Force Research Institute Laundromat -- Liu Jizhi and her daughter worked here. Two days after Liu Jizhi and her daughter were arrested, the Laundromat was closed, and the owner disappeared without a trace.

On February 16, Liu Jizhi and her daughter came to work at the privately-owned Laundromat at the Air Force Research Institute near Xisanqi of Haiding District, Beijing City. Four people, including Ms. Liu and her daughter operated an ironing machine. Liu Jizhi carried the clothes to the next person and Wei Meiling folded the clothes. They worked eight to nine hours a day. They did not go out. They did not expect the authorities to look for them and find them within four months after the rape. Ms. Liu's daughter was not cautious in using her cell phone, which resulted in their being found and arrested.

At 8:00 a.m. on March 7, the two women finished work, washed themselves, and ate and slept as usual. At that time, two police cars quietly drove to the courtyard in front of the Air Force Institute. The vehicle license plates indicated that they were from the State National Security Bureau in Shijiazhuang. According to eyewitnesses, there were over ten people. Their facial expressions were very serious. It looked as if they were facing an enemy. People passing by felt a very intense and choking atmosphere, and thought that something big was going to happen. As expected, the area was searched thoroughly. They searched through the supermarkets, small stores, telephone booths, the Laundromat and all non-residential areas. Two military officers of the Air Force Institute security office were in charge of checking the Laundromat. The person who ran the Laundromat is surnamed Zhang, and is over 40 years old, from Beijing.

Around 10:00 a.m., three of the police officers came to the Laundromat. The person in charge woke up the women and said, "No big deal, we just need to register the two newcomers." Someone asked, "Didn't we register last time?" The boss said, "It is fine if you have already registered, it's just Xiao Wei (Meiling) and her mother." The boss found the bed of Wei Meiling, "Xiao Wei, do you have an ID?" Wei Meiling replied, "Yes." Then the boss asked Liu Jizhi whether she had ID, she answered, "I do not have one." The security officer questioned closely, "You do not have an ID, where are you from? What's your name?" Liu Jizhi said, "I am from Hebei, and my name is Shan Yuzhen." The security officer asked again, "Then where is your ID?" Liu Jizhi repeated, "I don't have an ID." Then he told them, "You two get up and get dressed, and go register." Then three of them took Liu Jizhi and her daughter to the gate of the Air Force Institute, and the mother and daughter never returned.

Dorm of Liu Jizhi and her daughter

At around 11:00 a.m., at the doorway of the Air Force Institute, a witness saw this scene: A young girl stubbornly held an older woman. She would not let her be taken away by the police, and bleakly cried and begged a middle-aged man standing on the side, "Boss Zhang, do you just let them take away my mother?" That man was shocked by what he saw and felt helpless. At last, an official gave the order to forcibly take her away. Before they left, the police changed the license plates from Shijiazhuang to Beijing. The witness said, "There was a big pile of vehicle plates." (She gestured with her hands and it looked like a few dozens plates.) "They brought lots of people. This woman certainly must be an important criminal. It looks like a big case."

After half an hour, boss Zhang returned to the Laundromat. He was like a totally different person. He looked pale and fearful. Sweat ran down his face, and he had not yet recovered from a fright, "What's going on? What's going on?" At about 1:00 or 2:00 p.m., two officers from the security section came again, and said, "The two (Liu Jizhi and daughter) do not have an ID. They were evicted from the Institute." They also ordered the person in charge and other workers not to tell anyone that the mother and daughter had worked there. They also took away their luggage. Two days later, the Laundromat was closed and the people disappeared without trace. According to insiders at the Air Force Institute, two generals were punished because of this incident.

Call for Urgent Rescue of Several Falun Gong Practitioners from Fushun Slated for Secret Transfer

It was learned recently that several Falun Gong practitioners from Fushun, Liaoning Province, who have been suffering from long-term persecution, would be transferred to "a place."

According to the insider who exposed the Sujiatun Concentration Camp, Falun Gong practitioners from the provinces of Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang in the northeast, and those from provinces in central China were being transferred to a secret place. The current situation of the above-mentioned Falun Gong practitioners from Fushun is extremely worrisome. We call for Falun Gong practitioners to pay attention and urgently rescue them.

These Falun Gong practitioners include Ms. He Lizhong, Ms. Jia Naizhi and Ms. Liu Chengyan. All of them experienced brutal torture and their bodies were seriously devastated. After being illegally sentenced, they were rejected by Shenyang Prison because of their poor health. They have been imprisoned in the Fushun City Detention Center for several years. During the detention, they became critically ill several times, but the detention center did not allow them to be released on bail for medical treatment.

Some sources said that the practitioners would be sent to an undisclosed "place" after a physical examination.

The following is a brief description of the persecution that Ms. He Lizhong, Ms. Jia Naizhi and Ms. Liu Chengyan have suffered.

    1. Ms. He Lizhong

Ms. He Lizhong, 60 years old, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Fushun City, Liaoning Province. She was illegally arrested on April 15, 2004 and was sentenced to a 9-year prison term. She was detained at the Second Detention Center of Fushun City, located in the Nangou District. Ms. He developed symptoms of hypertension and heart disease, and lost consciousness on and off. She was sent to Shenyang City Prison, but was not admitted due to her poor health. Her family was told to arrange for her to be released on bail for medical treatment. The family paid a total of 900 yuan, but the police still have not released her. Her current situation is unknown.

    2. Ms. Jia Naizhi

Ms. Jia Naizhi is 54 years old. She was arrested on October 11, 2002, and detained in the Fushun City Detention Center. In July 2003, she was illegally sentenced to 10 years in prison without due process. The Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison denied admitting her because of her severe illness. Ms. Jia Naizhi has been held for more than three years in the Second Detention Center of Fushun City. We learned on July 5, 2005 that Ms. Jia had been on hunger strike for many days to protest her illegal detention and persecution. Her health is deteriorating daily, and she is in danger of dying. The detention center still refuses to release her on bail for medical treatment. Ms. Jia's current situation is unknown.

    3. Ms. Liu Chengyan

Ms. Liu Chengyan, over 30 years old, is a practitioner from Wanghua District of Fushun City. In October 2002, Ms. Liu was illegally arrested. Later on, she was detained in the Second Detention Center of Fushun City. In July 2003, Ms. Liu was tortured so badly that she lost consciousness and almost died. On August 29, 2004, while being detained at the Fushun City Detention Center in Nangou District, Ms. Liu went on a five-week hunger strike to protest the persecution. She was in critical condition, but the detention center still would not release her. Her current situation is unknown.

Please read "Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners at Fushun City Detention Center Exposed in Detail" posted on Clearwisdom.net: /emh/articles/2006/1/20/69165.html. We call on fellow practitioners in Fushun to urgently take action and rescue these practitioners.

Zhang Rongjie and Liu Yongwang Subjected to Show Trial Even Though Their Lives Are in Danger from Persecution in Detention Center

On February 17, 2006 the Xinshi District Court in Baoding City, Hebei Province held a show trial of Falun Gong practitioners Zhang Rongjie, Zhi Zhanmin, Liu Yongwang, and Wei Haiwu. Based on statements for the defense and related evidence, the court was unable to make a decision. It was known that the court had submitted files related to the case to its superior, the Baoding City Intermediate People's Court. A decision would then be made by a "committee" composed of heads of Baoding Intermediate Court and each section.

The health of Falun Gong practitioners Liu Yongwang and Zhang Rongjie has been severely compromised from the abuse they have received in custody, and their lives are in danger. People of conscience inside the court said, "Were it not for the heavy pressure from our higher-ups, neither of them would be considered to be in good enough condition for detention." On February 17 at the show trial, several pairs of policemen had to carry each of the four Falun Gong practitioners, and Zhang Rongjie could hardly speak; Liu Yongwang was unable to walk normally. Both were dragged upstairs by the police.

Since their illegal arrest in August 2005, Zhang Rongjie, Zhi Zhanmin, Liu Yongwang and Wei Haiwu have been detained and persecuted in the detention center. By the time the show trial began on February 17, Zhang Rongjie had become so thin that he was skin and bones. He could hardly stand or sit. The whole illegal interrogation process was carried out under the control of the court police.

Please Help Rescue Wang Peng, a Falun Gong Practitioner from Changchun Who is Secretly and Illegally Imprisoned

In 2001, Mr. Wang Peng was illegally arrested and persecuted because he practices Falun Gong. On March 7, 2005, Wang Peng was picked up and taken to the Changchun City Police Department's 1st Divsion. He was interrogated, tortured, and then secretly sentenced to prison without notification to his family. More details follow.

Wang Peng, 30 years old,was arrested and taken to Huadian City Police Department just before the 2001 Chinese New Year. He was not allowed to sleep or eat for 2 days. The police cruelly tortured Wang Peng and in private, took turns beating him. One beat Mr. Wang until he was exhausted, and then another took over. His hands were handcuffed behind his back. A board was forced under his arms and he was tortured until he lost consciousness. When Wang Peng went on a hunger strike to protest, he was force-fed. The police inserted a tube through his nose, down his throat, and force-fed him icy cold highly concentrated salt water.

Wang Peng had an unhappy childhood. His parents divorced when he was 4 years old. The experience of a broken family led Wang Peng to become very cold-hearted, eccentric and stubborn. He began smoking and drinking at the age 16 or 17 and he often fought with his father. In 1996, after he started practicing Falun Gong, he changed completely. Not only were the headaches that troubled him for years completely gone, but he also saved money from his meager wage to help his mother pay his sister's school tuition. He became a child that his parents were proud of, a young man that neighbors love, and a person that friends trust.

On March 7, 2005, Wang Peng went out and did not return home. The next day around 10:00 a.m., a group of police in plainclothes forced their way into Wang Peng's home. They confiscated a new recorder, a new copier, 3 printers, 4 laptops, 2 voice recorders, Falun Gong books and tapes, a family toolbox, CDs and other items. Later, Mr. Wang's family members came to know that Li Xingtao, the deputy leader of the the 4th Natioanl Security Group of Changchun City Police Department, led other police officers in the break-in of Wang Peng's home. When family members asked that he be released, Li Xingtao said, "We went to his home and there is not much there. So just bring 20,000 or 30,000 yuan." His family members did not have the money.

After Wang Peng was arrested, he was brutally interrogated in the Changchun City Police Department's 1st Divsion. He was not allowed to sleep for 5 days and 5 nights, which dramatically damaged Wang Peng's health. After he was detained more than 20 days, he was transferred to the Changchun City Tiebei No. 1 Detention Center. Wang Peng, as well as other practitioners in detention, went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. They were brutally force-fed with heavily salted water via tubes inserted through their noses. Wang Peng was also tortured in a strait jacket. Many practitioners died in Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp from this method of torture.

Accusations against Wang Peng were fabricated. Zhang Nan, Head of the 1st Court, not only did not release Wang Peng, but he also twice sent a fabricated case against him to the 7th Section of the 1st Divsion of Changchun City Police Department, as "supplemental evidence." This is a very serious illegal activity.

In June 2005, a member of Wang Peng's family tried for a week to meet with Zhang Nan, but Zhang always avoided seeing him. On one occasion, the family member met a manager named Wang Yi at the front entrance, and asked about Wang Peng's situation. Wang Yi told him that state law would not allow family members to see Wang Peng, and told him to go back home. Wang Peng's family asked the security guard at the entrance who his manager was and the security guard said he did not know. The guard added, "I dare not say. You Falun Gong practitioners are very smart. They call from everywhere, even from overseas. Phone calls from China are also constantly coming." Wang Peng's family told him, "Clarifying the truth to all of you is a good thing."

In April, May and August of 2005, Wang Peng's family members visited the Changchun City Police Department, the Changchun Tiebei No. 1 Detention Center, the Changchun No.1 Automobile Factory Court, and other places to ask for Wang Peng's release. The officials all stalled and dodged their request.

On October 20, 2005, Wang Peng's family member visited Xu Gang, Clerk of the Changchun Luyuan District Court, requesting a plea of "not guilty." In China the current judicial system forbids lawyers to allow Falun Gong practitioners to plead not guilty. However, the Chinese Constitution states that people have the freedom of belief. Wang Peng is not guilty of any crime for his belief in Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, nor is he guilty for practicing Falun Gong. Wang Peng did not violate any regulations of Chinese law. Quite the opposite, after Wang Peng started practicing Falun Gong, he brought the wonderfulness of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance to others. In addition, he tries hard to be a good person. What is wrong with that! Xu Gang asked Wang Peng's family to hire a lawyer, but they refused and insisted on Wang Peng's innocence. His family stated, "One who believes in Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance is not guilty of a crime. Persecuting good people like Falun Gong practitioners will invoke heavenly retribution." Xu Gang said he did not understand what they meant, but soon after the trial he was in the hospital for medical surgery. He kept saying, "I did not get involved in it.''

Several days later, Wang Peng's family again called Xu Gang. After Xu Gang talked to Tan Fangzhen, Director of the Changchun Luyuan District Criminal Court, Xu told them to submit Mr. Wang's birth certificate. On December 2, Wang Peng's family called Tan Fangzheng, planning to give the defense write-up to Tan. Tan told them that Wang Peng had already been sentenced to a prison term and told them to go to the detention center to look for Wang Peng. Wang Peng's family asked for more detailed information, but Tan refused to tell them, stating that Wang Peng was already an adult and thus does not need defense. Wang Peng's family members asked, "Why didn't you notify the family? You are conducting an illegal secret trial. This is wrong." Tan said, "You don't know the law. Go back and read the related books." Afterwards Wang Peng's family called them and told them that they were wrong to bring Wang Peng to trial and that he was a good man. Before they could finish, the person on the other end of the line had already hung up.

Wang Peng's family went to the detention center to see Wang Peng, but the receptionist, Jing Chenglin, said that Falun Gong practitioners were not allowed visits. When the family asked why, Jing said that it was regulated by upper management. When they asked who the upper management was, he said, "It is stipulated by law." When they asked whose law, Jing said, "The Chinese Communist Party." The family complained, saying that criminals were allowed visits, but Falun Gong practitioners practicing Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance were forbidden visits. They said, "Wang Peng is innocent. If you don't allow me to see him, this time I'm here to take him back. Please report this to your upper management." Jing Chenlin could not answer right away, but then said, "Those ordinary criminals are good people." They responded by asking Jing, "Since all those criminals are good people, why do you detain them rather than release them?"

A couple of days after the 2006 Chinese New Year ended, Wang Peng's family again called Tan Fangzhen about Mr. Wang's situation. Tan said that Wang Peng had already appealed to the Intermediate Court's No. 2 Criminal Court. On February 22, 2006, Wang Peng's family called Tan again and asked for the so-called "trial statement and appeal statement" of the first trial, and Tan rudely said, "Do not call any more." All this time Wang Peng is still illegally detained and persecuted! His physical health is extremely weak. For a very long time he was not allowed to be visited by his family.

From March 7, 2005 to February 17, 2006, while the case was "waiting to go to trial," Wang Peng suffered brutal persecution. Changchun City Police Department, Changchun City Procuratorate and Luyuan District Court all participated in the persecution of Falun Gong. They adopted extortion, deceit, avoidance, and excuses to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.

Younger Brother Threatened and Persecuted for Defending Innocent Elder Sister

Ms. Cui Luning is a Falun Gong practitioner from Qingdao City. Her younger brother, Mr. Cui Luwen, was threatened by the authorities in Qingdao City because he advocated for a not guilty plea in the court case defending his sister.

On February 21, 2006, the Licang District Court held a court hearing designed to escalate the persecution of Ms. Cui Luning. Her younger brother, Cui Luwen, representing the defendant and her family, worked with an attorney to plead for his sister's innocence. The procedure was completely legal. During the court process, Liu Lin, the chief judge, twice tried to stop Mr. Cui's pleading by using political pressure. He had to give it up under Mr. Cui Luwen's strong objection. Before Mr. Cui could wind up his defence arguments, Liu Lin stepped in to stop Cui Luwen by saying that their time was up.

In the court, the attorney clearly pointed out that the police from the branch of the Anti-[slanderous term omitted] Department in Licang District violated the process of handling the case. They did not present any search warrant before or after they illegally ransacked Ms. Cui's apartment. Moreover, they trespassed into Cui Luning's apartment by using her house key without her permission. They even blatantly resorted to opening Ms. Cui's apartment door even when Cui Luning's parents were at home. They took away her checkbooks and other materials without presenting any identification and without presenting a list of what they took away.

Not until the end of the court hearing did the judge, the public prosecutor and the jury raise any objections towards the not-guilty defense by the attorney and the family members.

After Mr. Cui Luwen attended the court hearing and pleaded for his sister, he went back to his hometown of Pingdu, Qingdao. A policeman by the surname of Sun called him up several times and asked him not to keep tracking the police's illegal search of his sister's apartment. He requested that Mr. Cui "cooperate" with the court. Someone from the Pingdu Politics and Law Committee also went to Mr. Cui Luwen's wife's work unit and threatened his wife, saying that Cui Luwen was causing trouble. They said that they had been "treating him very well" and now they were planning to arrest Cui Luwen and possibly sentence him. They told Mr. Cui's wife to inform Mr. Cui to stop being "uncooperative" the next time.

    Background:

On the morning of September 22, 2005, Liu Yong, Sun Weifeng and another policeman from the Anti-[slanderous term omitted] Department of Licang District, Qingdao City, went to the Qingdao City Sodium Silicate Factory and illegally arrested 33-year-old Ms. Cui Luning. She was working at that time. Afterwards, they illegally ransacked Ms. Cui's apartment in Licang District for four hours. They loaded her belongings into two cars, including a computer, printer, TV, DVD player, cash, checkbooks, and many other materials.

While ransacking Ms. Cui's apartment, the police used her cell phone. They tried to contact the people who called her to determine their identities. They sent text messages saying, "Xiao Cui is in trouble now. Come to her home quickly. Do not say anything." They made an attempt to deceive and arrest more practitioners, but they did not succeed. Before they left, the police fiercely threatened Ms. Cui's neighbor to not tell anyone about her arrest. On the morning of September 26, 2005, four to five policemen once again intruded into Ms. Cui's apartment. They interrogated her parents by demanding who they were and how they came into the apartment and who informed them, etc. They took away another bag of personal items in front of her parents.

Ms. Cui Luning was illegally detained at the Dashan Detention Center, Qingdao City. One month later, she was illegally transferred to the 610 Office of Qingdao City to undergo brainwashing. Her arrest order was approved until December 23, after which she was officially sent to the Dashan Detention Center for further illegal detention.

Under the influence of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) ideology and education year after year, these so-called "public servants" no longer have a normal way of thinking, and they have totally lost their human nature. If the person being persecuted does not say anything in their own defense, they would deceive everyone, saying that that person being persecuted is guilty and therefore he/she has nothing to say. If the person being persecuted tries to use the law to validate his/her own legal rights, they would frame a case against that person by saying that he/she is trying to make trouble. They would even ask that person to cooperate with them by accepting the persecution.

Chuanhui District Court in Zhoukou City is Sabotaging Justice in their Trial of Ms. Gu Xuemin

At around 10:00 a.m. on February 21, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gu Xuemin, a retired official from the Politics and Law Committee in Zhoukou City, Henan Province, was illegally taken to the Chuanhui District Court. Nearing 70 years of age, she was charged with "sabotaging implementation of the law" and "possessing secret documents." Her lawyer rejected the accusations and defended her innocence. Her family, including her sister, who is over 70, were in the courtroom. After the presiding judge read out the testimony by her husband and sister and the law procedures, they asked her family to step out of the court. About ten minutes later, Ms. Gu Xuemin was taken out of the court.

The next day, February 22, Ms. Gu's sister said that the testimony read in the courtroom was completely different from what she had written. The content had been changed. In addition, they also took testimony fabricated by staff in the Political and Security Office that was used in a previous case, and used it as evidence to persecute Ms. Gu. The personnel in the Chuanhui District legislative department use every possible means to persecute practitioners. They never follow the law. During the trials of several previous Falun Gong cases, they ignored the law and fabricated evidence to persecute the innocent.

The Yuexi County Police Department and the 610 Office of Liangshan Prefecture in Sichuan Province Are Still Actively Persecuting Practitioners

[Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the Minghui.org website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net).]

Ms. Wu Shilian, a Falun Gong practitioner from Zhaojue County, Liangshan Prefecture, was illegally arrested by the Zhaojue 610 Office in November 2001 when she was distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying flyers with practitioners Chen Yu and Long Tingzhen. Her home was searched and thousands of copies of truth-clarifying materials and Falun Gong books were confiscated. Ms. Wu Shilian was detained for more than three months before she was transferred to Yuexi County, Liangshan Prefecture, where she was detained for five more months.

In 2004, while Ms. Wu was distributing truth-clarifying materials during the Chinese New Year, someone who did not know the truth about Falun Gong reported her. She was arrested and sentenced to forced labor for two years by the Yuexi 610 Office. Ms. Wu was sent to the Sichuan Province Women's Forced Labor Camp at Nanmusi, Zizhong County.

On March 9, 2006, just two months after she returned from two years of forced labor, Yuexi County Police Department officials, together with the North City Resident Committee of Xichang City, broke into Aunty Yang's home on North Street and confiscated Falun Gong books and truth-clarifying materials. They also tried to force Aunty Yang to turn in Ms. Wu Shilian and her mother, intending to arrest Ms. Wu again.

Police Break into Professor's Home, Forcing Her into Hiding

[Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the Minghui.org website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net).]

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ma was a lecturer employed by the Mathematics and Physics Department of the Shandong Province Architecture Institute located in Jinan City. She lived in the family housing of the Institute compound. On the morning of March 6, 2006, Ms. Ma's home was broken into by policemen (some in plainclothes) when she was at work. Ms. Ma and her daughter have had to abandon their home and go into hiding ever since, to avoid being arrested at home.
