  • San Francisco: Practitioners March to Expose the Sujiatun Atrocities

Practitioners marched in San Francisco to expose the Sujiatun Concentration Camp and call for an end of the persecution on April 1, 2006. They clarified the truth to the local people, especially those in Chinatown. The march exposed the CCP's barbaric crimes in Sujiatun Concentration Camp of harvesting organs from living practitioners for profit. While condemning the CCP's atrocities, the practitioners called for justice and conscience to bring the persecution to an end.

    March procession

In the morning, Falun Gong practitioners arrived at the starting location. Some of them demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises and some got ready to march. When the Celestial Band from New York started playing, the music caught the attention of many passers-by and tourists, who accept truth-clarification literature to read. After learning about the inhuman crimes committed by the CCP's Sujiatun Concentration Camp, many people expressed their outrage.

Ms. Hong Zhang, one of the organizers, said that the march consisted of three themes. The first theme was to introduce Falun Gong. The second was to expose the CCP's brutal persecution during the last six plus years. The third theme was the practitioners' peaceful protest against the persecution, voicing their support for people quitting the CCP and calling on everyone to help stop the CCP's crimes.

At noon, the procession started and walked around Chinatown. The march ended at 1:30 p.m. on Union Square.

People sign to urge President Bush to raise the issue of the persecution of Falun Gong during Hu Jintao's visit

The most eye-catching parts of the march were the Celestial Band, composed of more than 150 members in blue attire with the words "Falun Dafa" and cream-colored trousers, and a truth-clarification float and posters exposing the Sujiatun Concentration Camp. Passersby, tourists, and shoppers watched intently.

Garden Corner is the place where many older Chinese people gather and chat. Since the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong began, a majority of the Chinese here was deceived by the CCP's propaganda and had misunderstandings towards the practitioners. In recent years, practitioners in the Bay Area have held truth-clarification photo exhibitions, rallies, and other events, but a lot of these Chinese people either ignore it or reacted negatively.

Today, with the approach of the Celestial Band's music, the older Chinese people stood by the street to watch. Like other Chinese in Chinatown, many of them smiled toward us. A practitioner demonstrating the exercises on a float said, "I saw an older lady that we often met in Garden Corner. She never gave a position on the persecution. Today she smiled and held up her thumbs to encourage us."

When the procession passed by shopping centers, many patrons took photos. A western man thanked us enthusiastically for holding the event.

Dr. Alejandro Centurion is a neurological doctor working in Monterey. He said that he was shocked upon hearing that organs are harvested from living practitioners. He said that the U.S. and many other countries ban organ harvesting from prisoners. In the U.S., organ transplantation requires extensive checks and reviews. His mother had to wait for two years for a kidney transplant. He said that as a doctor, he cannot imagine how those surgeons can conduct such brutal surgery to remove organs from living people.

Another western gentleman said, "I know the Nazis' history. I think that anyone standing here would be shocked after seeing the photos and will help to stop the brutality."

Mr. Rutang Chen, director of Celestial Band from New Jersey, said, "The weather is very nice today. There were many people in Chinatown and many waited for the march before the arrival of our procession. Many of them were smiling. Our music transmits a strong signal: Falun Dafa is great. The CCP's persecution is wrong."

Mr. Chen said that his son was brutally tortured in China and rescued to the U.S. by overseas practitioners' continuous efforts. He thought that there were more similar camps in China. He said, "Let's call on everyone to oppose the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong."

After the march, some practitioners held a rally on Union Square and continued to collect signatures. The Celestial Band and some other practitioners went to the new Chinatown and conducted a second march to help more people know Falun Gong, expose the CCP's brutal persecution, and call for help to stop the persecution. The second march on the afternoon of the same day was also very successful in clarifying the truth.

CCP's Agents Usher Away Han Qide, Member of People's Congress Standing Committee, after He Answers Questions on Sujiatun at Yale University

Han Qide, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s People's Congress, gave a speech in Yale University on March 24 and said that if the Sujiatun incident is real, those involved should be brought to justice immediately. After the speech, a few "bodyguards" immediately came forward and escorted him to leave the conference hall. Mr. Han was not able to attend the reception arranged outside the conference hall.

Mr. Han, also Director of the Health Science Center in Beijing University, visited Yale University on March 24 and gave a speech entitled "China's Medical System Reform". One audience member asked, "International media has disclosed that bodily organs are being harvested from living Falun Gong practitioners in Sujiatun Concentration Camp in Shenyang. I hope that Director Han can investigate this matter." Mr. Han was surprised upon hearing this and said that if this is true, those involved should be punished immediately.

On March 23, the CCP's General Consul in Sydney Qiu Shaofeng and spokesperson of the CCP's Embassy in Washington denied the existence of the Sujiatun atrocities when asked about it.

Mr. Han's answer clearly did not sit with CCP officials. At the end of his speech, a few "bodyguards" immediately escorted him out of the hall. A practitioner wished to hand over evidence of the Sujiatun Concentration Camp to Mr. Han but was turned away by the "bodyguards". The practitioner asked, "Dr. Han expressed a desire to know what is happening with Sujiatun. Why are you stopping me?"

Mr. Han was not able to attend the reception outside the hall.

Florida: Practitioners Visit State Capitol and Call for Attention to the Sujiatun Concentration Camp

Tallahassee is capital of Florida, where there are many visitors on a daily basis and where the state's legislators can be found.

Explaining to people the facts of the persecution in China

On March 29, 2006, practitioners in Florida came to Tallahassee and inform their representatives and government officials about the genocide occurring in China. Based on recently disclosed information, a person with access to inside information at the Liaoning Thrombosis Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine confirmed that there is a secret concentration camp in the hospital. Since 2001, 6,000 Falun Gong practitioners have been imprisoned there and no one has come out alive. Horrible crimes of harvesting bodily organs from living practitioners have occurred in this hospital. After the organs were removed, the practitioners' remains are incinerated in a crematorium to destroy evidence. Three quarters of the 6,000 practitioners have been killed for their organs.

Practitioners in Florida felt that it was imperative to let their elected officials know about the persecution, in addition to their local truth-clarifying efforts. Practitioners set up large banners in English and Chinese to expose the persecution. They talked about the CCP's crimes to people entering and exiting the capitol building and called on them to sign a petition letter to President Bush.

There are many people from different social circles outside the building everyday. Besides officials, there were many visitors. On the square between new and old state capitol buildings and inside the building, there were university students and teachers celebrating an occasion for Florida State University. Practitioners noticed that mayors, supervisors and their assistants from all over Florida had a conference there, too. The practitioners took the opportunity to explain the facts to them. Many mayors signed on the petition letter to President Bush to urge him to pay attention to the Sujiatun Concentration Camp.

On the day, practitioners also prepared letters to Governor Jeb Bush and state legislators. The practitioners were divided into two groups and visited offices of several hundred state senators and representatives. In the legislators' offices, the practitioners met with their legislative assistants and exposed the Sujiatun atrocities. Many legislative assistants were shocked and said that they would relay the information and encouraged the practitioners to come back to explain the incident directly.

Many of the assistants asked how they could help the practitioners from the state level. The practitioners said that Florida need to clearly state that it cannot tolerate the killing of Falun Gong practitioners and request federal government to thoroughly investigate the brutal persecution by the CCP.

Kansas: "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" Art Exhibition Held at State Capitol

January through March is the busiest season for the Kansas State Capitol Building in Topeka. Over 160 elected representatives come back to the building to process major issues and routine work. Meanwhile, many groups, organizations and families come to visit for business or for sightseeing. Of course, there are also plenty of lobbyist activities as well.

From March 20 to 24, 2006, practitioners hosted the "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" Art Exhibition in the main lobby of the first floor of the State Capitol to further introduce Falun Gong and expose the evil persecution and the recently disclosed atrocities in Sujiatun to government officials and visitors. Almost every adult who passed by signed the petition calling to investigate the Sujiatun Concentration Camp. People were very impressed by the peace and harmony of Falun Gong and asked where they could learn the practice. Many state representatives encouraged us with their smiles.

March 22 is Nephew/Niece Day, and practitioner Gary was busy the whole day receiving group after group of kids. The person who made the deepest impression on him was a little girl accompanied by her aunt. The girl came to him twice to express her deep sympathy to the girl in the painting "Homeless".

A mother and a daughter viewed every artwork carefully. Then the little girl quietly asked Gary if she could take some pictures of the artwork. When she got permission from the practitioner, she was so happy. Upon learning of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) killing of Falun Gong practitioners for their organs in the Sujiatun Concentration Camp, the mother immediately signed the petition.

    A happy Maria

Maria is a staff member in the building. The painting that she liked the most is a standing Buddha. She said, "I felt that all the unease and discomfort disappeared and my heart was filled with peace whenever I passed by the painting of Buddha." She felt so happy for being able to take a picture with the Buddha.

After viewing the exhibit, a Chinese family was deeply touched by the peace of Falun Gong and appalled by the brutality of the CCP.

The exhibition was scheduled to conclude on the afternoon of March 24. When practitioners started to take down the paintings, a young man was still carefully looking at them. He sincerely extended his gratitude to the practitioners for bringing such beautiful works to the state capitol and asked where he could learn Falun Gong. He left happily with practice site information.
