  • Canada: Renowned Lawyer Joins Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China

Clive Ansley, a well known Canadian lawyer, has just expressed his wish to join the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG). Mr. Ansley joins CIPFG one week after Mr. David Kilgour, former director of the Asia Pacific Division of Canada's Foreign Affairs Ministry, and lawyer Mr. David Matas announced that they would lead an independent Canadian task force to investigate organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.

China Specialist Lawyer Mr. Clive Ansley

Mr. Ansley is a well-known specialist on China and has studied relationships between Canada and China for more than 40 years. He worked and taught in China for 14 years as a Canadian law specialist. In 1985, he opened the first foreign law office in China. Besides working as a law consultant for foreign business in China, he handled more than 300 lawsuits and taught International Economic Law at Shanghai Fudan University and Tongji University.

Mr. Ansley stated in his report titled "A Chinese court is not a court" that the CCP controls all courts in China, and that no court dared not to carry out CCP orders. It is very common that, "Those who hear the case do not make the judgment and those who make the judgment have not heard the case".

Mr. Ansley said in an interview in 2004 that Amnesty International did an investigation and discovered that in China, the years with high numbers of executions correlated with years with high demand for livers, kidneys and other organs. We now know that hospitals and courts in China form a system or committee. When a death-row inmate is to be executed, hospitals get a notice. Sometimes the execution is conducted in hospital morgues.

Mr. Ansley spoke about a junior lawyer who sought a job in his law office. She told him that she had handled 20 death sentences. She was a staff member in a local court. She said that police went to the court to discuss with judge whether he would agree to sentence an inmate to death. If the judge agreed, they would call in the woman who applied to work with Mr. Ansley, and ask her to check which criminal law could be used to sentence the inmate to death. She narrated how they took the inmate from prison and escorted him or her to the execution venue. She said that there was an ambulance waiting with the engine running to rush off the freshly harvesting body organs. The Chinese regime has participated in international organ trade in a large scale. These facts are not widely known.

Mr. Ansley was pleased that Mr. David Kilgour and Mr. David Matas would conduct an independent investigation, confirming the supportive attitude of the Canadian government. He said he would like to join CIPFG since his knowledge of the CCP's system could help the investigation bring a swift end to the atrocities.

Organ Transplantation Professionals From Various Countries Condemn Live Organ Harvesting by CCP

The third international no-heart beating donor organ transplantation conference was held in London, UK from May 11 to 12, 2006. In order to alert medical professionals to the crimes of live organ harvesting occurring in Chinese labor and concentration camps, several English Falun Gong practitioners held a banner reading "Please Help to Stop the Live Organ Harvesting from Falun Gong Practitioners" outside of the conference site. They exhibited photos exposing the live organ harvesting and cruel torture of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), distributed related materials to attendees and passersby, and collected signatures.

About forty-seven medical professionals signed the appeal statement condemning the unethical organ harvesting by the CCP. Some could not sign because they needed to rush to the airport, but they said that they would sign and return it by mail to Falun Gong practitioners. Those people are in the field of organ transplantation and represent organizations from countries all around the world. Many are the leaders of these organizations, including the coordinating director of the Belgium organ transplant center, and the director of the Czechoslovakia organ transplant center.

The statement also expressed concern about the systematic live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners in labor camps and detention centers in China. It urges the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and other related international organizations to immediately carry out public and independent investigation of all prisons, detention centers, and labor camps (within the borders of China) without being blocked by the CCP.

After seeing the exhibit, the director of the Belgium organ transplant center said to practitioner Ms. Gao, "This is too inhuman! Such things need to be condemned." He told Ms. Gao that he knew about the live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners because he had previously received e-mail from other practitioners. He wished to know more about the persecution of Falun Gong. He also asked Ms. Gao to print a copy of the photo to show his colleagues in Belgium. Another director of an organ transplant center from Russia heard the voices of practitioners, "Your support will stop the killing in China," and immediately signed the statement.

In addition, Professor Jan Lerut, the former president of the European organ transplant association, expressed his opinion regarding the live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners in China when interviewed by New Tang Dynasty TV, "It is certainly terrible. It should not happen. It should not exist." He said that forced organ transplanting should be prohibited and should not continue. If someone is willing to donate organs, it should be voluntary but not forced. Professor Lerut called on every organ transplant association, individuals and countries to try their best to oppose forced organ transplanting in China. He said, "In my opinion, everyone should oppose (this) in their own way. It will be effective if everyone does this."

Japan: "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance International Art Exhibition" Held in Hino City

From May 2 to 4, during the season when rhododendron flowers blossom, "The Seventh Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance International Art Exhibition" was held in the Hino Citizen House in Hino City, to the east of Tokyo,. It exhibits more than forty productions of over ten eastern and western artists of painting and sculpture. Tokyo congressman Toshiaki Koga and international political critic Mitsuhiro Kimura were invited to the ribbon-cutting opening ceremony.

Tokyo congressman Toshiaki Koga and international political critic Mitsuhiro Kimura were invited to the ribbon-cutting opening ceremony.

"The seventh Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance International Art Exhibition" was held by the Falun Dafa Institute in Japan. Mr. and Mrs. Tada and Ms. Yano, who are in charge of the exhibition explained that this exhibition not only exhibits the spirit of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance practiced by Falun Gong Practitioners, but also reveals the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

In the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Falun Gong representative Mr. Kunio Sato first thanked each of the guests who came to participate in the opening ceremony in the rain. Then he explained how Mr. Li Hongzhi introduced Falun Gong to the public in China in 1992, and how it spread to 100 million people in more than 70 countries and districts all over the world, person to person and heart to heart. The Chinese Communist Party launched the insane repression and persecution about seven years ago. The Falun Gong practitioners clarified the truth to congressmen and to ordinary villagers. So again we welcome "The Seventh Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance International Art Exhibition." Kunio Sato strongly denounced the ongoing brutal activities of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong Practitioners, making great profit and then cremating the bodies, and called on the Japanese government and people to gain more understanding of the persecution of Falun Gong and to stop the inhuman catastrophe together.

In the opening ceremony, Tokyo congressman Mr. Toshiaki Koga claimed that the artists portrayed both their true feelings about Falun Gong and their intention through their works. He looked at every piece carefully and believed that every audience member could know the wish that Falun Gong practitioners intended to express through their works. That is, the beauty of Falun Gong and the evil nature of the CCP's regime. He also expressed that the CCP's regime will fall in the end because it is evil. The persecution of Falun Gong is due to the autarchy of the CCP. He wished that more Japanese will understand Falun Gong and the CCP through these works and establish true friendship between China and Japan.

International political critic Mr. Mitsuhiro Kimura stood in front of the introduction to the exhibition and presented in a strain of much recognition how good the three characters are, "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance!" Falun Gong practitioners, people who practice "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," must be good people! I really wonder why the CCP represses Falun Gong! We know that the CCP is an autocratic party and will maintain its power by any means. The autocracy suspects others and the longer the autocracy exists the more it suspects others. So it will persecute more severely the people who they suspect threaten its regime.

Mr. Mitsuhiro Kimura continued, "I do not know how many Japanese can share with you the beauty of Falun Gong and the feelings of pain brought by the persecution by the CCP. But I looked at the works here carefully and I know how much pain you suffer from the persecution imposed by the CCP. I hope you can hold exhibitions like this regularly, the eighth one, the ninth one, the tenth one and continue on. Let more Japanese know the nature of the CCP."

He said that the more people know about the nature of the CCP, the more people will quit it, and the more they will understand and support Falun Gong.

A journalist exchanged ideas with Mitsuhiro Kimura on the issue of Ms. Wang Wenyi speaking out at the White House. Mitsuhiro Kimura said if you want to know why Wang Wenyi spoke out, you must first understand the tragic persecution of Falun Gong.
