  • Ye Xiaowen, Director of the CCP's Religious Affairs Bureau, Sued for Torture and Genocide in US Civil Court

A US court issued a civil lawsuit subpoena to Director Ye Xiaowen and to Deputy Director Wang Zuoan of China's Religious Affairs Bureau, both of whom are currently visiting the US. They are accused of inciting, instigating, conspiring, ordering, planning and/or aiding and abetting torture, genocide and other human rights abuses against Falun Gong. At the same time, the Spanish Court also accepted the lawsuit filed by Falun Gong practitioners against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leaders.

Ye, as the Director of the State Administration of Religious Affairs (SARA) since 1999, played and continues to play a vital role in the persecution of Falun Gong. In collaboration with other high-ranking officials in SARA, the 610 Office and the Chinese Communist Party, Ye designed, produced and implemented a campaign of propaganda to demonize Falun Gong to help legitimize the persecution. Ye, along with other high-ranking officials in SARA and the 610 Office, also used his office to coordinate and supervise the violent and brutal conversion of Falun Gong practitioners in provinces and cities across China through brainwashing and other forms of torture. The stated role of SARA is to protect religious freedom, but under Ye's administration, it has become one of the most effective tools used by the regime to carry out the persecution against Falun Gong. With help from SARA, the CCP regime declared Falun Gong practitioners as enemies of the state, and then turned around and used that designation to justify the persecution.

Guo Chuanjie was found guilty last June by a judge in the US Federal Court, and required him to compensate for the damage and economic loss to the Falun Gong plaintiffs.

In addition, in a ruling on June 6, 2006, Spain's Supreme Court ordered the National Court to consider a genocide complaint by Falun Gong practitioners against Jia Qinglin, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). In 2004, the Spanish National Court rejected this lawsuit on the grounds that it had not been established that Jia was in Spain. Another court in Spain accepted a case earlier which accused seven CCP leaders of genocide, torture and crimes against humanity in Tibet during the 1980s.

According to statistics listed on Clearwisdom.net, Falun Gong practitioners have filed 13 lawsuits in 28 countries worldwide against Jiang Zemin. Currently, 34 lawsuits against 22 CCP leaders are underway.

This is the first lawsuit against CCP leaders in the religious field since the persecution of Falun Gong started in July 1999. Prior to this case, Falun Gong practitioners once filed lawsuits against Guo Chuanjie, the deputy head of the "Leadership Group Handling the Falun Gong Issues" in the CCP's Academy of Science, and director of the Wuhan TV station, Zhang Zhizhen.

France: Exposing the Crimes of the Chinese Communist Party on National Radio

Ever since the Chinese Communist regime’s abhorrent atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners were exposed, French practitioners have been actively raising awareness of the crimes through various channels. Consequently, many French people have spoken out and offered help to Falun Gong. On May the 1st, from 3 to 4 p.m., FM Radio Enghien of Ile-de-France-Radio-Enghien interviewed practitioners in a live broadcast. During this interview, practitioners explained what Falun Gong is and revealed the crimes of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to the listeners.

Falun Gong practitioners Candice, Ying Chen, Manjiang Chen and a staff member of Radio Station 98.0 FM

Radio Station 98.0 FM broadcasts to the major areas of France 24 hours a day. In the one-hour live program, "Just Talking," Falun Gong practitioners Manjing Chen, Candice and Ying Chen discussed the CCP’s latest crimes of harvesting organs from living practitioners.

Ying Chen, a Falun Gong practitioner who was persecuted in China, used her own experiences to testify how the CCP persecutes Falun Gong practitioners both physically and mentally in detention centers and labor camps. She herself witnessed that the CCP, without restraint, illegally arrested Falun Gong practitioners who appealed to the higher authorities from 2000 to 2001.

Ying Chen told the listeners that she was detained three times without going through any legal procedures. Every time when she was locked up, her family members did not know where she was detained. At that time, she was taken to a hospital to have a blood test and her body examined. She told the French listeners: "It is too difficult for people here to imagine how cruel the CCP is and how this wicked and cruel group is killing people. I never thought that the CCP would harvest organs from living Falun Gong practitioners who refused to tell their names and then cremate their bodies in order to destroy evidence."

Ms. Chen said: "Now I recall that policemen and some other prisoners did tell us: ‘If you continue practicing and still don’t tell us your names, we will banish you to a desert, or a far away desolate place where you will be isolated from the world and never come back.' At that time, guards in detention centres and other prisoners were saying that the CCP was building some concentration camps in Xinjiang, Hebei and the northeast to lock up Falun Gong practitioners."

Other Falun Gong practitioners went on to tell the listeners what Falun Gong is. During the program, the hostess learned about Falun Gong. While the hostess was listening to Ying Chen talking about her suffering, her eyes were full of tears.

The program was broadcast live and listeners phoned in to join the conversation or ask questions. Many listeners also called in to show their concern and support for Falun Gong after listening to the broadcast. Some of them said that they had attentively listened to the Falun Gong practitioners talking about the practice and the Chinese Communist Party's persecution throughout the program.

After the one-hour program ended, the hostess said she hoped that the practitioners would continue to tell the facts about Falun Gong to the people of France in her program, "Forum of Freedom" at 12 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Delaware, USA: Spreading the Truth at Newark Nite

On June 3, for the sixth consecutive year, Falun Gong practitioners were invited to participate in the annual fair, "Newark Nite." This festive occasion was cosponsored by the Newark Chamber of Commerce, the Newark City Government and the University of Delaware, and was held on the university campus. More than 10,000 residents from the town of Newark and nearby communities participated in the event.

    Demonstrating the Falun Gong exercises

    The Falun Gong booth

Among the bustling crowd, practitioners quietly demonstrated the peaceful Falun Gong exercises. The sight was so unique that a large number of people slowed down to find out more. Many of them inquired for materials, learned the exercises and signed an appeal letter which calls for action to stop the Chinese Communist regime’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong and calls for the US Congress and President Bush to urge the Chinese regime to open up all labor camps, prison and other related facilities for unconditional investigation.

The Chinese Communist regime’s atrocities of harvesting organs from living practitioners shocked the kindhearted Delaware citizens. Many had heard about this atrocity several times from local media reports, and some of them have taken their own initiative to write to their representatives, requesting the legislators to urge the administration to take action. Not long ago, the Wilmington City Council passed a resolution to condemn the atrocities of the organ harvest and requested Delaware members of Congress to urge President Bush to launch a thorough investigation into the claims.

At the Falun Gong booth, many people were watching a Chinese practitioner creating Chinese paintings. The practitioner was in her 60s and had just recently come to Delaware from Shandong Province. She gave out her paintings for free, and wrote, "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" as well as, "Falun Dafa is Good" in Chinese characters on each painting.

Taking this opportunity, the practitioners told people the a true story: Jiang Zemin, the chief perpetrator of the persecution, recently went to Shandong and wanted to visit the famous Longquan Temple in Jinan City. As local officials all knew that Jiang fears Falun Gong more than anything, they even smashed the six Chinese characters for "Essence, Qi, Spirit, Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance," which were carved on one wall of the temple in the Ming Dynasty. His hatred toward the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance" is in fact the fundamental reason for Jiang to collude with the Chinese Communist Party to persecute Falun Gong. With her artistic skill, the practitioner from Shandong Province shared the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance" with many kindhearted people.

Candidates running for Congress, as well as state and city representatives also participated in the night fair and learned the truth of Falun Gong, including the recently revealed atrocities of harvesting organs from living practitioners. Practitioners urged them to request the US government to launch an independent and thorough investigation into the situation. A candidate for congressman said that he is Jewish and has a clear understanding on the Chinese Communist regime’s genocide against Falun Gong. He said that the founding principles of the U.S. shall not be trampled on and as a free nation, the U.S. shall fulfill its responsibility to help end these human rights violations and the Chinese Communist regime’s crimes against Falun Gong in China. He asked for two lotus flowers and said that he would put them in his car and office for good fortune.
