  • School Teacher Mr. Sun Peichen Dies Soon After Repeated Cruel Torture in Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Sun Peichen, 47, a teacher at Yinglan Middle School, Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province, firmly believed in Falun Gong, so he was persecuted repeatedly by the Communist party members. He was tortured in many cruel ways, including having his testicles crushed by police in Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp. He was tortured until he was near death. On June 7, 2006 he was sent home. Mr. Sun died soon after, on July 3, 2006.

Mr. Sun was repeatedly persecuted ever since the persecution began in 1999. On July 25, 1999, because he refused to give up his belief, he was put into administrative detention for fifteen days. On January 16, 2000, he was illegally imprisoned for 100 days.

On May 21, 2001, Mr. Sun was illegally arrested at his school by county police. He was taken to Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp for a year. Forced to live in a damp environment, his whole body became covered with scabies and he could not stand up or take care of himself. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and was barbarically force fed, and subjected to cruel torture many times.

On May 26, 2004, Mr. Sun Peichen was arrested again by Jia Lin, Qiao Lijun and others from Dalianhe Town Police Station. While Mr. Sun was taken from Hongxing Village to Dalianhe and then sent to Yilan Prison, he was beaten mercilessly many times by Qiao Lijun. Even during the period of Mr. Sun’s illegal imprisonment, Qiao Lijun wore casual attire, smelt of liquor and rushed into the prison cell to mercilessly beat Mr. Sun. This caused bleeding from Mr. Sun’s nose and mouth. His chest, abdomen and forehead received serious wounds and he passed out many times.

After not eating or drinking for eighteen days Mr. Sun was extremely weak, but he was nonetheless again taken to the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp for a three year term and was expelled by his school.

During the period of imprisonment in the forced labor camp, Mr. Sun was mercilessly beaten many times by Chief Ji and Dong Hebin. The methods they used to torture Falun Gong practitioners include "pushing" and "separating." "Pushing" is where someone sits on the practitoner's back and pulls the arms up behind the back to the limit, which makes the joints crack. "Separating" is pulling the legs in opposite directions to the limit. If this did not satisfy the persecutors, they would do even more grotesque and painful things.

One morning around Easter, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Sun Peichen, Mr. Li Qingrong, Mr. Zhang Fengtian, and Mr. Xu Guoxiang shouted loudly in the cafeteria, "Falun Dafa is good." Zhao Shuang and other guards took Mr. Sun away and ordered him to completely remove his clothes. Zhao Shuang wore a plastic bag on his hand and grasped Mr. Sun’s testicles and crushed them hard. Another guard tortured him with an electric shock baton. When the two became tired, they rested and then again shocked Mr. Sun’s testicles and other sensitive parts. After that, Zhao Shuang continued to apply the above mentioned tortures of "pushing" and "separating" on Mr. Sun until Zhao Shuang was tired. The guards then forced Mr. Sun to criticize himself in the workshop in front of other practitioners. Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Song Guohua felt very uncomfortable. He was dragged away right after he stood up. He was ordered to completely remove his clothes and was repeatedly shocked again. After being subjected to "pushing" and "separating," his leg was badly injured.

On April 12, 2005, guard Zhao Shuang and others persecuted Mr. Sun. They tortured him with electric batons continuously, completely removed his clothes, held him down on the ground and used their elbows to pound his chest and back. They also kicked his chest and back.

Guards at the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp also forced Mr. Sun and other Falun Gong practitioners to work overtime. They could only sleep for two to three hours each night. They had to get up for work at 5:00 a.m. It was unusual for them to stop working around 9:00 or 10:00 p.m. Sometimes, they worked until 11:00 p.m. or midnight, even the next morning. They frequently took ‘resisting management’ as an excuse to wantonly beat and scold practitioners, use the electric batons to shock them or force them to sit on iron chairs. Zhao Shuang said, "It is alright so long as we do not kill them. Even if we kill them, we just fill out a form. We can report it as a normal death. Anyway, the forced labor camp has a death quota."

Because of the brutal persecution Mr. Sun had lost many teeth and he had difficulty breathing because of chest pain. In the last two years, Mr. Sun was tortured in every possible way. He was painfully thin, was sick in bed and was suffocating. In this case, the forced labor camp hastily released him on June 7, 2006. Twenty days later Mr. Sun died on July 3, 2006.

Falun Gong Practitioner Huang Yongzhong Died from the Beatings He Received at Beijiang Prison

Mr. Huang Yongzhong, a Falun Gong Practitioner From Jieyang, Guangdong Province, passed away on the afternoon of July 21, 2006, more than 10 days after his parents brought him home from Beijiang Prison, where he was tortured and abused until he was in critical condition.

Photos of Mr. Huang, taken 15 days after being severely beaten by Beijiang Prison officers

On September 9, 2001, Mr. Huang Yongzhong was illegally arrested while distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification fliers in Longwei Town of Jiedong. He was detained in the Jiedong Detention Center, where Wu, the center director, beat him with his fists and a belt and kicked him. While he was detained there, Huang Yongzhong was usually called out every day around 7 o’clock in the evening and beaten.

During Mr. Huang’s trial, he’d been so badly beaten that he couldn’t walk on his own. He had to be carried into the courtroom. The judge ignored all of Mr. Huang’s objections and the objections made by others on his behalf, and accepted the "evidence" presented by the police, which was full of loopholes, and sentenced Mr. Huang to seven years for the crime of "disturbing the social order." Mr. Huang appealed according to his rights under the law, but the Jieyang Court insisted on "upholding its original sentence." On November 10, 2001 Mr. Huang Yongzhong was sent to Beijiang Prison in Shaoguan.

In Beijiang Prison, steadfast Falun Gong practitioners like Mr. Huang, who refuse to give up their beliefs, are held in dark cells, forced to do more work than others, not allowed to sleep, and are given unknown drugs in their food, causing their minds to become muddled. After he was there for a month, Mr. Huang was transferred to Supervision Area Number 12. While he was there, the guards and prisoners often beat him. He had injures all over his body and sometimes lost consciousness.

On July 2, 2006 Mr. Huang’s parents received two phone calls asking them to hurry to the prison. They were sure something was wrong and went to the prison with a friend. Prison officials told them Mr. Huang was in the hospital, so they went there in a hurry. When they finally found him he was shackled with handcuffs and leg irons to the hospital bed. He was too weak to even speak. A prisoner was assigned to watch him. His mother looked under the blanket and saw wounds from beatings all over his body. She angrily asked the prison personnel, "Why did you beat my son like this? Why is he still locked up?!" Forcing a smile, one of the people she asked said, "We are a civilized unit. Why would we beat him? He caused these injuries himself by struggling when we tried to examine him, and we had to immobilize him so he wouldn't move too much while we gave him an injection." Hearing this, Huang’s mother grew even angrier, "What kind of physical exams could give a person bruises all over his body, become unable to move or speak, and need a catheter?" The person continued to argue with her, saying, "His hepatitis virus has spread and caused his body to turn blue. Is it our fault that he got sick?"

At that time Mr. Huang’s mother noticed h his lips were very dry and looked like he hadn’t had water for a long time. She quit arguing and hurriedly gave her son some water, and then cut a piece of apple for him. Mr. Huang began to come around and he called weakly, "Mom." Then he pointed at the person from the prison and said, "...evil to death." He grabbed his friend’s hands tightly. It seemed like he had many things he wanted to say, but he was too weak to speak.

Mr. Huang’s parents requested their son's immediate release from prison for treatment, but the prison officials obstructed them in every possible way. They said they needed to report to the 610 Office, they needed to discuss it, and they needed several pieces of paperwork from the elderly parents. Mr. Huang's parents are honest farmers who are both more than 70 years old. They had no one to appeal to and they finally had to return home.

On the morning of July 5th Huang’s parents got up early and went to talk to the officials at the police station, the 610 Office, and other government offices, but everyone they tried to talk to pushed the responsibility onto someone else and refused to speak with them. His parents cried, "Our son is dying, and you’re still making trouble for us. If something happens to him, heaven won’t forgive you!" That evening his parents brought the paperwork, which they’d obtained with great difficulty, to the prison.

On July 6th the prison warden read the certificate, then he took out a piece of paper and asked Huang’s parents to sign it. The paper said the prison was not responsible if anything happened to Mr. Huang after he left the prison. Huang’s mother read it and yelled, "You didn’t ask me to sign anything when you took him away. Now he’s dying and you expect me to sign this? You persecuted him to this stage. You ask me to sign, you want to avoid responsibility for you actions, you’ve killed a man and now you want to wash your knife clean!" The warden was speechless due to the righteous condemnation of Mr. Huang’s parents. He sent for a vehicle, a few doctors and a police officer, who took Huang Yongzhong to the People’s Hospital in Jieyang. After he was settled the policeman told doctors, "This man is a criminal. If you can treat him, go ahead. If you can’t just let him go." Everyone was shocked by his words.

Mr. Huang Yongzhong was about 30 years old. He was born in Xinhe Village, Dongshan Town, Jieyang City. He was sickly as a child and suffered from epilepsy. Ten years ago, he lost four of his fingers in a machine accident. He became very weak due to the loss of blood. In 1997, Mr. Huang was fortunate to learned Falun Gong. A few months after he took up the practice all of his illnesses disappeared. He became strong and his epilepsy never returned.

Because of the Jiang regime’s cruel persecution, and simply because he distributed some fliers, a man who lived his life by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance was sentenced to seven years in prison. He was a disabled man who the government had promised to care for, yet he was persecuted to death because he refused to give up his beliefs.

Ms. Chen Guoxiu from Qidong County, Hunan Province, Dies as a Result of Persecution

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Guoxiu was repeatedly detained and tortured by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel. Her home was repeatedly ransacked. She was forced to become homeless and destitute in order to avoid being arrested at home. On July 14, 2006, Chen Guoxiu died as a result of persecution.

Ms. Chen Guoxiu, 53 years old, lived in Guoshuiping Town, Qidong County, Hunan Province. When she was 38 years old, she contracted diabetes, which triggered many other illnesses, including protrusions of lumbar intervertebral discs, a frozen shoulder, tonsillitis, angina and arthritis. In 1997, she was fortunate to start practicing Falun Gong. All of her illnesses disappeared and she enjoyed excellent health.

Since Jiang’s regime started the persecution against Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Chen was repeatedly harassed and threatened by Liu Weiguo, the former Chief of the Guoshuiping Police Station, and Chen Lianyun, the Party Secretary of Guoshuiping Village. The authorities in Qidong County also persecuted her in many ways. In January 2000, Lei Mingliang, a driver for the police station, rushed into her home and found two practitioners there. Then Liu Weiguo led a group of people to search Ms. Chen’s home and they confiscated a large number of Falun Gong books. Ms. Chen was illegally detained in the detention center for a month. He Zhengrong, the head of the Political Security Section of the Police Department, tried to force her to disclose the source of the materials and information about the other two practitioners. He forced her to kneel on the ground and beat her. Li Wei also came over to slap her face twice and handcuffed her arms behind her back. They beat Ms. Chen for more than two hours.

On July 6, 2000, Chen Guoxiu went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. She sat cross-legged at Tiananmen Square and was arrested by the police from the Qianmen Police Station. That day, the police drove five or six hundred Falun Gong practitioners, who had come from all over the country, in several big buses to an apple orchard. They sat there for one day and night without food. Soldiers equipped with guns surrounded them, changing shifts every two hours. On the second day, the practitioners were taken to a plaza with concrete paving, where they were forced to stand under the blazing sun. Then the practitioners were taken to different places and detained and tortured. Ms. Chen was not released until she went on a hunger strike for seven days in protest of the illegal persecution.

On July 18, 2001, Ms. Chen Guoxiu went to Beijing again to stand up for Falun Gong. She was arrested and detained in the Qidong County Resident Office in Beijing for four days. On July 24, she was taken back by the local police from Qidong County and sent to the Qidong County Detention Center. On the second day, Wang Qimin from the Political Security Section of the Qidong County Police Department interrogated and beat Ms. Chen for a whole day. The police whipped her back, buttocks and ankles with a bamboo stick. They also tortured her with a torture called "Carrying the Sword" (in this torture, one hand is brought over the shoulder to the middle of the back, the other is brought around from the side, and the wrists are handcuffed together behind the victim's back). They tightened the handcuffs once every few minutes to increase Ms. Chen’s suffering. They also beat, kicked and verbally abused her. The police did not send her back to the prison cell until she was shivering from the beating and could not stand any more. Ms. Chen’s feet were swollen for over a month. The scars on her body were visible even two years later. Ms. Chen was detained for three months. During the detention, Wang Guibao, the party secretary in charge of the judicatory system in Guoshuiping Town, confiscated her truck and extorted 5,000 yuan from her family.

Just three months after Ms. Chen was released, on the night of December 24, Liu Weiguo led a group of police to abduct her again and detained her for five months.

One day in 2002, Ms. Chen was reading Zhuan Falun at home, and was seen by Zou Changlin, the former chief of the police station, and Zhou Huasheng, the present chief of the police station. They took the book away immediately. In July 2003, the local police ransacked her home again and confiscated Falun Gong books, VCDs of Fa-lectures, exercise suits and truth-clarification materials. Ms. Chen was forced to become homeless and destitute in order to avoid being arrested at home. Living away from home, she suffered all kinds of tribulations.

Under the evil party’s repeated harassment and persecution, Ms. Chen’s illnesses relapsed and she was sick in bed. In the beginning of July 2006, the officers from the Qidong County 610 Office, the National Security Team and the Guoshuiping Town Police Station went to her home to harass and threaten her again, which caused Ms. Chen Guoxiu’s situation to quickly deteriorate. She could not speak, and died on the night of July 14, 2006 as a result of the relentless persecution.

The Persecution Suffered by Wei Xiaodong Before his Death

    Falun Gong practitioner Wei Xiaodong
Mr. Wei Xiaodong, 34 years old, was a lecturer at Bayi Farmer’s University in Heilongjiang Province. Because he practiced Falun Gong, on July 20, 2000, he was arrested by Meng Qingqi and other police officers from the Mishan Police Station and was sent to the Mishan City No. 2 Detention Center. He suffered inhumane persecution and was forced to do heavy physical labor.

At that time, Mishan City was doing road construction. The detention center tried all kinds of methods to extract money and materials from those who were detained in the detention center. They forced Wei Xiaodong and some others to go to the work site and mix concrete. From early in the morning onwards, they were not allowed to take a break.

On November 2002, Wei Xiaodong and another Falun Gong practitioner, Dai Jun, were sent to Jixi Forced Labor Camp for further persecution. On July 19, 2001, Wei Xiaodong was released when his term was up. After exposing the persecution publicly, he was forced into homelessness.

On April 26, 2002, Wei Xiaodong went to Jixi to visit other practitioners and was arrested by the police waiting nearby. He was handcuffed and suffered inhumane beating and the handcuffs made his wrists bleed. After enduring beatings and torture, Mr. Wei was sent to Jixi No. 1 Detention Center. Because he was persecuted for such a long time, his physical condition became worse and worse. He became skinny and lost most of his hair.

In October 2002, Wei Xiaodong developed tuberculosis. The detention center not only did not give him any treatment, they asked his family for more money to cover his daily expenses. They extorted more than 2,700 yuan from his family. The food was as bad as pig feed and was very expensive. The detention center would not allow the prisoners to have enough to eat. Whenever a new product was introduced to the detention center, the price was several times more expensive than market value.

Wei Xiaodong was detained in Jixi's 1st Detention Center for eighteen months. According to his personal testimony, his family paid at least 600-700 yuan each month to cover his daily expenses. His family paid over 10,000 yuan, which did not include medical expenses of over 3,000 yuan. Actually, Wei Xiaodong might have only needed around 2,000 yuan for food -- the rest of the money was confiscated by the detention center under the guise of high-priced food (two to five times higher than restaurant prices), administration, and sewage disposal. In the detention center, under the protection of the police, a criminal named Zhang Jianmin extorted money from Falun Gong practitioners several times.

In December 2003, Jixi Detention Center sent Wei Xiaodong to Jianshanzi Prison in Mudanjiang for further persecution. At that time, he was already physically very weak from the persecution. Jianshanzi Prison in Mudanjiang had very brutal methods of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Pan Xingfu, 31 years old, and a former assistant director of the exchange center of the Telecommunications Bureau (also the assistant director of the Telecommunications Bureau of Youyi County), was persecuted nearly to death, and passed away on January 31, 2005. Li Ruqing, 66 years old, and a retiree from the Engine Factory in Shuangyashan Mine Bureau, was persecuted to death after being sent to Mudanjiang Prison for less than two months. Two other practitioners, Yu Junxiu and Yu Jixing, were also persecuted to death in Mudanjiang Prison.

By the end of 2004, Jianshanzi Prison started a month-long "compulsory transformation" campaign on Falun Gong practitioners. Led by the assistant prison head, Luan Jing, all of the team leaders, the instructors, the guards and the inmates, beat practitioners every day, forced them to do heavy physical labor, would not allow them to go to sleep, and subjected them to other brutal abuse. After repeated beatings and ongoing sleep deprivation, Wei Xiaodong’s illness became serious. Afraid that he would infect other prisoners, the prison police detained him in the prison hospital for further persecution.

On March 20, 2005, Wei Xiaodong was dying. The police still tried to force him to give up Falun Gong. They tried to deceive him by saying, "We will let you go home as soon as you say you do not practice anymore." He firmly said the last word of his life, "Practice!" On March 21, Wei Xiaodong died from the persecution.

Rong Zhi, Wei Xiaodong’s wife, was detained in Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Harbin (also due to practicing Falun Gong). She also suffered severe persecution.

The Bayi Farmer’s University dismissed Falun Gong practitioners Wei Xiaodong, his wife Rong Zhi and Wang Yan from their school.

Mr. Jiao Wanhui’s Kidneys Damaged Due to Abuse, Yet the Panjin Prison Still Refuses to Release Him

Mr. Jiao Wanhui, who worked at the Heavy Type Mechanical Factory in Jinzhou City, was arrested by police from Tashan Town Police Station of Huludao City in October 2005 while distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. The Lianshan District Court in Huludao City illegally sentenced him to three years in prison. Mr. Jiao is currently detained in the Fourth Section of the Second Ward of Jinpan Prison in Liaoning Province.

On June 17, 2006, Mr. Jiao went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. After 19 days on the hunger strike, he was transferred to the Patient Care Center of Panjin Prison. There he was handcuffed to the bed. Prison guards inserted tubes into Mr. Jiao’s nose and force-fed him. The guards refused to let Jiao Wanhui’s family to visit him. According to prison guards, Mr. Jiao’s kidneys have stopped functioning.

Jiao Wanhui’s current situation is very precarious, yet the prison guards still refuse to release him. They even threatened Mr. Jiao’s family, saying that if he continues hunger striking, he will certainly die and they will absolutely not release his body after he dies. They said that Panjian Prison has never released anyone. They also said that there was a Falun Gong practitioner persecuted to death a few days ago, yet nobody was held responsible for his death.

Jiang Honglu Sentenced to 14 Years After Being Shot by Police

Mr. Jiang Honglu is a practitioner in Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province. He is the victim of a shooting that happened in February, 2002, by policeman Meng Qingqi. But instead of being cared for, Mr. Jiang was sentenced for 14 years in prison. He is currently jailed in Mudanjiang Prison while the policemen, Meng Qingqi, Du Yongshan, Liu Xiaohu, responsible for his wounds, got away scot-free.

Mr. Jiang Honglu, who lives in Taiping Township, is a worker for the Taiping Highway Maintenance Section of the Mishan Highway Administration Station. In 1989, his 4-year-old son got bronchial asthma. For about 10 years, Mr. Jiang spent over 40,000 yuan in vain trying to cure his son’s illness. In October 1998, his son started practicing Falun Gong and his illness was cured completely. After they witnessed the miracle of Falun Gong, the whole family started practicing Falun Gong.

On October 6, 1999, Meng Qingqi, the head of the Political Security Section of Mishan Police Department, along with about 10 more policemen, broke into Mr. Jiang’s home, confiscated their property, arrested Mr. Jiang and his wife, and sent them to the police department for an investigation. Meng Qingqi then sent them to the First and Second Detention Centers separately. One month later, the police extorted the so-called Security Administration fine of 4,000 yuan, plus 8,000 yuan bail, before releasing them. When Mr. Jiang went to the authorities to report the racketeering, he was told: "This is the order of the higher authorities. If you don’t agree with it, you may go to Beijing to appeal to the central government."

Without any other choice, Mr. Jiang went to Beijing on December 1, 1999 and started his journey of appealing. During the appeal, he was arrested by policemen from the Qianmen Police Station under the false charge of "disturbing public security," and brought to Jixi Forced Labor Camp.

On March 26, 2001, Mr. Jiang was released. When somebody later exposed that Meng Qingqi extorted money from Falun Gong practitioners, a city government official criticized Meng Qingqi, saying that he "shouldn’t leave evidence," and required him to pay back part of the money. With no choice, Meng Qingqi returned 8,000 yuan in fines and a cellphone he had confiscated. As part of the refund, 4,000 yuan went to Mr. Jiang. After this event, Meng Qingqi held a grudge against Mr. Jiang.

According to Clearwisdom.net, Mr. Jiang Honglu and another practitioner were walking on Dongshan avenue in Mishan City at about 2:00 a.m. on Chinese New Year’s day 2002, (February 12, 2002). They were stopped by a police patrol car, in which were policemen Meng Qingqi, Du Yongshan, and others, on the west side of the Chinese Industrial and Commercial Bank. Those policemen shouted loudly: "Stop right there!" Jiang Honglu realized that they had run into people who meant to do them harm, so they started running away. Meng Qingqi and Du Yongshan caught up with them by car. After jumping out of the car, they ripped off Mr. Jiang Honglu’s belt and beat him with it. Mr. Jiang’s face and head were injured and his blood was all over his clothes (see photos, below). After Mr. Jiang struggled to get up on his feet, he started running away again to the south. At that time, the policemen were tired from chasing him. Meng Qingqi brought out his pistol and shot nine bullets at Mr. Jiang , hitting his leg 6 cm below the knee. After Mr. Jiang fell down, Meng Qingqi, Du Yongshan, and others rushed up to him. They beat him with the submachine gun handle, the pistol handle, batons, and their heavy boots so badly that his head had a 2-inch gash. His head and face were seriously wounded, his left eye was protruding, and his eyes were bleeding and couldn’t open.

Because Mr. Jiang was injured so seriously, and a taxi driver witnessed the whole event, Meng Qingqi and Du Yongshan brought Mr. Jiang to a hospital. After staying in the hospital for only two hours for basic care, Mr. Jiang was brought to the detention center by Meng Qingqi.

When he threw Mr. Jiang into a cell, Meng Qingqi told the detainees of that cell: "Beat him as hard as you can. You will not be responsible if he dies!" Afterwards, Mr. Jiang was beaten every time he was interrogated. They tortured him with all possible means, including such torment as putting mustard oil in his nose.

The following photos show Jiang Honglu's blood-stained clothes after he was beaten. (These photos were included in the Hong Kong Falun Gong Persecution Exhibition in 2002.)

    Jiang Honglu

This is the last bullet from Meng Qingqi’s handgun after he shot 9 bullets. When he beat Mr. Jiang with his handgun handle, he dropped this bullet into Mr. Jiang’s ripped clothing liner. (Diameter 8.38mm, Length 24.64mm, Head 7.7mm, Shell 16.94mm)

Only when the event was exposed, did Mr. Jiang’s family learn that he was shot by police. Even under the strong demand by his family, the Security Section of the police department barely agreed to arrange a visit. They also said that his family was not allowed to talk about the event.

The family accused Meng Qingqi and Du Yongshan of wrongdoing to the government of Mishan, the Communist Party Committee of Mishan, the City People’s Congress, and the City Political & Judiciary Committee. They also demanded the unconditional release of Mr. Jiang, and a reversal of the unjust conviction of Falun Gong. Because the bureaucrats shield one another, they didn’t approve of the family's requests. Instead, they transfered the letter of accusation to Meng Qingqi.

After reading the letter, Meng Qingqi was enraged and ordered the arrest of Jiang Honglu’s relatives. He arrested Mr. Jiang’s elder brother, sentenced him to two years forced labor and brought him to the Jixi Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Jiang’s wife was forced to leave their home. When she tried to return once, she was reported to the police by township security official Xu Yongcai (his phone number is 5156270). The Security Section arrested Mrs. Jiang and detained her in the detention center. In July 2003, the Mishan Police Department brought Mrs. Jiang to Harbin and tried to detain her there with a three-year sentence, but they refused to accept her due to her poor health. Taking her back to Mishan City, the police detained her for a long period of time and didn’t release her until November 2003, under the strong request of her relatives.

On October 23, 2002, the Mishan court conducted a trial of eight Falun Gong practitioners. In court, the judge refused Jiang Honglu’s request to state what really happened, and tried to coerce him to admit that he had assaulted the police after being shot. When Mr. Jiang refused, policeman Liu Xiaohu (Police Badge 238675) immediately beat Mr. Jiang in the court.

Although Mr. Jiang refused to admit the accusation, he was illegally sentenced to 14 years. The real criminals, Meng Qingqi, Du Yongshan, Liu Xiaohu, and all others involved, got away with their crimes.

On the way back to the detention center, policeman Liu Xiaohu and others started beating Mr. Jiang. They continued to beat him even when they arrived at the detention center and got out of the car.

In 2003, Mr. Jiang was brought to the Jixi Prison. In July, he was transferred to Mudanjiang Prison.

On January 20, 2005, Wang Wei, the head of the 3rd Ward of the prison, ordered Mr. Jiang to be put into the confinement room because he refused to cooperate with the persecution. In the middle of this 3- or 4-square-meter room was an iron ring to which Mr. Jiang’s handcuffs and ankle shackles were locked. Mr. Jiang couldn’t lie down, stand up, or squat. He had to sit, bending his lower back. Mr. Jiang wasn’t released from the confinement room until 5 days before the Chinese New Year; by that time, he was emaciated.

Shenyang Falun Gong Practitioner Gao Youlan Passed Away as a Result of Persecution

Ms. Gao Youlan was a Falun Gong practitioner who lived in Shenhe District, Shenyang City. Before she began practicing Falun Gong, she suffered from severe diabetes. She tried many treatments at various hospitals, and also practiced many kinds of qigong to cure her illness. But none of them worked. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1995, and thereafter her diabetes and other illnesses went away. Her husband, her youngest son Li Shangrong, and her daughter-in-law He Xin all practiced Falun Gong. They were a happy family.

Since the persecution of Falun Gong was launched in July 1999, the entire family started making truth clarification materials to tell people the facts of the persecution. On October 26, 2000, police from Shenhe District’s Nanta Police Station suddenly broke into her home, and arrested Ms. Gao, her husband and their son Li Shangrong. The home was ransacked, and computers, printers and Falun Gong books were confiscated. Her daughter-in-law He Xin was not detained in the time, because her child -- Ms. Gao’s grandson -- was only six weeks old. Nonetheless, to avoid future persecution, she was forced to leave home with her infant.

On October 26, the Gao couple was temporarily released, yet their son was still detained in the police station. In 2002, the Shenhe District Court illegally sentenced their son Li Shangrong to ten years in prison. He is presently unlawfully detained in Wafangdian Prison in Liaoning Province.

On March 15, 2001, police from the Nanta Police Station deceived the Gao couple, along with two other practitioners, into coming to the police station for a "meeting." They then detained Ms. Gao and sent her to the Second Team of Longshan Labor Camp for a one-year forced labor sentence. Ms. Gao's husband was sent to Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp for a year, yet he was released one and a half months later because his leg developed several problems. Even today he cannot walk.

On June 22, 2005, Gao Youlan's daughter-in-law He Xin went to visit Ms. Gao and brought her five-year-old grandson. When the hotel where Ms. Gao was staying checked He Xin’s ID and found out that she is Falun Gong practitioner, she was arrested. She was sent back to the local police station and sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. He is now detained in Liaoning Women’s Prison.

In March 2006, the atrocity of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners at labor camps was exposed. Ms. Gao went to Wafangdian Prison to see her son Li Shangrong. After she returned, she was very worried about the safety of her son and daughter-in-law. Her health was deteriorating. She succumbed to lung cancer, and died on May 27, 2006 at the age of 64.

Ms. Gao's husband, now disabled, is left at home along with their older son who does not practice Falun Gong. The couple’s younger son is in prison. The five-year-old grandson is being cared for by Ms. Gao's daughter-in-law's parents. Such a happy family has been broken up by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution.
