On October 17, 2007, Ms. Huang Zhenglan was forcibly taken to Changshou District Psychiatric Hospital by agents from Changshou District 610 Office in Chongqing and Changshou District Police Department. The doctors in the Psychiatric Section injected Ms. Huang with an unknown drug twice a day.

On September 29, 2007, Dai Shangyin (male), an official from Changshou District 610 Office, and Che Huaibing (male), the head of Zitong Village, arrested Ms. Huang and took her to the brainwashing center in Yubeiwang Township, Chongqing. Ms. Huang actively resisted the police when they were arresting her. They pulled up her clothes, exposing her midriff as they took her to the police car.

Over 30 practitioners are currently being detained at the brainwashing center in Yubeiwang Township. Ms. Huang refused to comply with any requests or orders from the officials at the brainwashing center. The guards tried to force Ms. Huang to take nerve damaging drugs. When she refused, she was tied up.

At the time of her arrest, she was wearing only a short-sleeved shirt and a short skirt. Although the temperature dropped into the teens, Fahrenheit, she was not allowed to contact her family to ask for warmer clothes.

On October 3, 2007, Ms. Huang managed to escape from the brainwashing center. However, she was unfamiliar with the surrounding area and was taken back into custody by plainclothes police who were waiting on the road.

Because the brainwashing center could not "transform" Ms. Huang, they informed Changshou District 610 Office to take her back. However, Changshou District 610 Office and Changshou District Police Department took her to Changshou District Psychiatric Hospital in Yanjia Town, Changshou District, where she was further mistreated. While in the hospital, Ms. Huang was injected with an unknown drug twice a day.

The hospital staffs that have participated in the persecution of Ms. Huang include Tan Jian, a section chief, and Doctor Deng Jie.

Mr. Ba Shuqun's Leg Broken by Police, His Wife is Hospitalized Due to Mental and Physical Stress

Recently it was reported that Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ba Shuqun was arrested covertly by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and his status was unknown. On October 29, 2007, his wife Ms. Jiang Li was suddenly hospitalized at Qilu Hospital.

The week before, on October 25, Ms. Jiang was asked by officers from Tianqiao Police Station in Jinan City to sign an arrest warrant, in order to see her husband who was injured and had been away from her for over a year. Under pressure, she signed the warrant.

The next day she hurried to the police station. But upon arriving, she was told that her husband was not at the police station, but had been transferred on September 18 to the Xinkang Prison, inside Shandong Province Police Hospital.

When she got to the hospital, the hospital personnel demanded a 9,000 yuan "medical fee" from Ms. Jiang, indicating that Mr. Ba was seriously ill. At the time, the physicians refused to disclose Mr. Ba's condition. His family members requested to see him, but were denied.

During this time, Ms. Jiang worried about her husband and could not eat or sleep well. She felt stressed both mentally and physically. She went to the hospital to have a checkup and found that her blood pressure was very high. The physicians suggested that she be hospitalized for treatment and that she ask her family to accompany her. However, her husband's condition was unknown and her child was in school, so they could not accompany her. It is reported that she was accompanied by the director at her workplace, her colleagues, and friends.

Ms. Jiang's hope is that an attorney can act on her behalf to rescue her husband.

According to an informed source, the authorities never relaxed their monitoring and tracking of Ms. Jiang, who is not a practitioner. After the mistreatment of her husband by the CCP was exposed by overseas media, the authorities intensified her monitoring.

In addition, the arrest and interrogation of Mr. Ba by the Jinan City police was not in accordance with legal procedures and required notifications. Mr. Ba went missing on September 12, but it wasn't until October 15 that it was learned that Mr. Ba was being detained by the police.

By the time Ms. Jiang was notified by her workplace that her husband was detained at Tianqiao Police Station, Mr. Ba had already been detained for 43 days. Moreover, before he was transferred, his leg was broken as a result of being beaten. The torture Mr. Ba suffered is hard to imagine.

Mr. Ba Shuqun began Falun Gong practice in 1994. He went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong several times and clarified the truth to people. He was also detained several times. The authorities tried to sentence him to a forced labor camp, so he was forced to become homeless for some time to avoid further persecution. He was later arrested once again.
