  • The Autrocities in Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City, Shandong Province

Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City has always been a central force that directly participates in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Over the past seven or eight years, the guards in the labor camp have never stopped brutally torturing practitioners. According to internal information, starting in February 2006, Wangcun Forced Labor Camp used criminal prisoners to persecute practitioners. The police gave handcuffs to the prisoners, and led them to torture and beat practitioners at their will. Administrator Luo Guangrong and deputy group leader Wang Baohua told the prisoners, “Be merciless in supervising them. You need to treat them (practitioners) as if they were worse than our class enemies.”

Over 140 practitioners are being illegally detained at the 7th Group in Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. There are 20 prisoners and guards there who use all possible means to torture steadfast practitioners, including abusing them, beating them, putting them in solitary confinement, hanging them in the air, etc. Between April and May 2006, they simultaneously tortured 40 practitioners by hanging them in the air, shocking them with electric batons, locking them in small cells, and brutally beating them. The reason the guards gave for the torture was simply that these 40 practitioners have steadfast belief in Falun Gong and that they told the guards and prisoners: “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance is good! Falun Dafa is good!” The guards also extended the terms of 11 practitioners in the forced labor camp by three months. The guards from the 7th Group include: Jing Xusheng (group leader), Li Gongming (administrator), Wang Xinjiang, Liu Guowei, Gao Chengwei, Song Nan and Bi (surname).

More than 140 practitioners are also being detained at the 8th Group. In addition, 20 prisoners there are led by the guards to persecute practitioners, and they can beat and torture practitioners using all kinds of methods at their will. Group Leader Zheng Wanxin once tortured practitioners by whipping them, abusing them, lying to them and humiliating them. He told steadfast practitioners, “I won't let you eat and instead you will be force-fed.” He threatened practitioners who were tortured badly and in serious condition by spreading the words, “Take them to the bottom of a mountain, dig a hole and bury them!” Administrator Luo Guangrong and Deputy Group Leader Sun Fengjun hung practitioner Mr. Xu Qiuyun in the air, brutally beat him and shocked him with electric batons for several hours, until they got too tired and were hardly able to catch their breath. Guard Zhang Yuhua had beaten practitioner Mr. Wang Weigao so badly that Mr. Wang could not talk, walk, or take care of himself, and felt chest pain and as if cold air were coming out of his body. After having committed this autrocity, Zhang Yuhua was afraid of being held responsible for it and took Mr. Wang to the bus station, just leaving him there. The nature of the guards and prisoners is reflected clearly in the incident of force-feeding practitioners by Yin Zijing, Zhao Liming and others. During the incident, these individuals put a practitioner's hands behind his back and handcuffed them to the back of a chair, also forcing his feet into the side of the chair.

Prison medical doctor Zhang (first name unknown, about 50, 5'5'') is the oldest of the four prison doctors. Since CCP began to persecute Falun Gong, he has been one of the most perpetrators in force-feeding practitioners. He puts the feeding tube into a practitioner's nose, pushes it into their stomach and pushes and pulls it back and forth. Around October 2006, a practitioner (name unknown) was tortured badly from force-feeding and passed out. His life was in danger. He spat out blood and was sent to the hospital. His current condition remains unknown. Practitioner Zhao Liming was tortured by force-feeding and could not stand or take care of himself afterwards. He had heart pains and spat out blood. He was in bed for as long as a year and wasn't able to walk. Currently, practitioners Xu Ruliang, Liu Xingwu (from Shouguang City, Shandong Province), Wang Yuhua, Song Junrong and others are enduring torture from the guards and prisoners. The torture methods include: hanging practitioners in the air, shocking them with electric batons, beating them with sticks, whipping them, taping their mouths, and hanging them by their hair with their hands crossed. Some other methods include: making them face the wall, not allowing them to sleep, forced labor, etc. The guards who have participated include: Zheng Wanxin (group leader), Luo Guangrong (was an administrator and now he has become the leader of the 7th Group), Wang Baohua (deputy group leader), Sun Fengjun (deputy group leader), Liu Wanglin, Zhang Yuhua, Yue Zhenyu, Gao Sheng, Liu Jichao, Su Bo, etc.

Another six practitioners are detained in the 6th Group. These six practitioners all have strong belief in Falun Dafa. The 6th Group is where newly-arrested prisoners are held and thus it is closely controlled. Each of the six detained practitioners is monitored by prisoners. Practitioner Zhang Guangbao was force-fed for half a year; now he can only lie in bed and can't walk. The guards that participated in the persecution are Zhao Yongming (group leader), Wang Dayong, Peng Gang and Zhang Tao, etc.

In Wangcun Forced Labor Camp, the guards force practitioners (as well as other prisoners) to do labor for at least 12 hours every day. For some, it's as many as 20 hours. The assigned work must be finished, otherwise one cannot go to sleep and will also be brutally beaten. The guards also made a rule that if a detainee pays 5,000 yuan (625 USD), he does not have to do any labor; if he pays 3,000 yuan (375 USD), he won't be assigned to do any fixed amount of labor; and those who pay the guards can also have their terms reduced. The prison doctor in the medical treatment room is even more inhuman. The prisoners call that room “the animal treatment station.” A prisoner went there to get a shot because of a cold and due to the shot, his leg became disabled and he is now paralyzed. However, he could not get any treatment. The small shop inside the prison earns 200-300 thousand dollars in profit every year. Their cafeteria earns even more money. In December 2006, the chickens and pigs in the forced labor camp all died within several days. In order to make up the loss, the cafeteria increased food prices; with fewer than 2,000 prisoners in the entire camp, the cafeteria earns 600-700 thousand dollars every year. The guards also secretly fine practitioners for living expenses and keep the money for themselves. Each month, each practitioner loses 15 dollars and it goes into the guards' pockets. Those who have participated in the torture of practitioners using methods such as force-feeding include: section chief of the department of management Liu, another section chief Liu, director Gao, commissioner Xin, etc. These people ignore the crimes committed by the guards and just allow them to do whatever they want.

Qianjin Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province Hides the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners

To cover up Chinese Communist Party crimes and to mislead domestic and world opinion, the infamous Wanjia Forced Labor Camp is transferring imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners to Qianjin Forced Labor Camp, also near Harbin.

A head guard, Zhang Bo, brings to Qianjin Forced Labor Camp the same methods used to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. Zhang incites guards Yang Guohong, Lin, and Chang Shumei to force Falun Gong practitioners to pack and load vehicles everyday, and to work for more than fifteen hours daily. It is said that they are packing export products and the agent is Yu Keqiang, whose vehicle plate number is HF7428. One item they are forced to pack is used inside the mouth to clean the teeth. There is no guarantee of sanitation since there is no sterilization equipment.

On the surface, Qianjin Forced Labor Camp looks clean, quiet and tastefully laid out. When inspectors or Falun Gong practitioners' families are scheduled to visit the camp, Falun Gong practitioners are not working. The imprisoned practitioners are eating normal food, even seasoned with oil. But in fact, the methods of persecution have not changed. Guards force Falun Gong practitioners to perform hard labor for fifteen to twenty hours per day. Even on a day when visitors examine the camp, the prisoners have to start to work immediately after the examination. The drops of oil on their food are from the guards' leftovers poured into the practitioners' food.

Guard Zhang Bo colludes with guards in Qianjin Forced Labor Camp and brings to Qianjin the persecution methods used in the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. Guards force Falun Gong practitioners to swear at Master and Falun Gong every morning. They incite criminal prisoners to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. They also force Falun Gong practitioners to slander Master and Falun Gong under oath. If a Falun Gong practitioner does not swear an oath or her voice is too low, the guards will try to force her to do so loudly. Otherwise, the prisoners will not be dismissed or not be allowed to sleep. Often all members of the group will be physically punished, including the criminals. The guards aim to create hatred in the criminals towards Falun Gong practitioners. It is fortunate that the criminals understand the truth and know that Falun Dafa is good and Falun Gong practitioners are good. Most of them restrain themselves from bad deeds. They do not cooperate with instigation from the guards, and they criticize the guards' actions behind their back.

Before the Chinese New Year, guards forced Falun Gong practitioners to write letters to their families denying their mistreatment and persecution. Practitioners who did not write such a letter were not allowed to sleep.

The stories above are just a small part of the persecution that takes place in Qianjin Forced Labor Camp.

Mr. Mi Guangpeng's Family Persecuted by Dalian City Police

Mr. Mi Guangpeng was released from the Dalian City Forced Labor Camp and shortly thereafter lost his eyesight. On March 19, 2007, his wife Ms. Liang Xianglian was illegally arrested by officers from the Xiuyue Street Police Station, including Gao Tiansheng. Mr. Mi's daughter had to leave home, which leaves Mr. Mi uncared for at home.

Mr. Mi's wife, Ms. Liang Xianglian, is 59 years old and started practicing Falun Gong in 1995. She has benefited greatly both physically and mentally. Mr. Mi became free of hypertension, heart disease and Meniere's disease (a disorder of the inner ear) after practicing Falun Gong. Their neighbors all knew the family benefited a lot from the practice of Falun Gong. They knew that Falun Dafa is good.

The family has suffered tremendous persecution since July 1999. Ms. Liang and Mr. Mi went to Beijing on October 9, 2000 to restore Falun Gong's reputation by appealing and clarifying the truth to various levels of government officials. They were arrested and taken to the Dalian City Drug Rehabilitation Center for persecution. They were transferred to the Dalian City Forced Labor Camp after 10 days. Ms. Liang was sentenced to 3 years of forced labor and Mr. Mi was sentenced to 2 years.

On March 19, 2001, the Dalian City Forced Labor Camp guards used various methods to torture Ms. Liang and Mr. Mi. The practitioners were beaten with batons and rubber clubs and handcuffed from behind. The guards also used the tiger bench torture method in an attempt to force the practitioners to give up Falun Gong. They also tried to force them to slander Master and write the three statements. The practitioners had to work at selecting beans for a daily quota that if not reached, would result in being deprived of sleep and physical punishment. Every day the guards used electric batons to torture them. First, the crackling of the electric discharge could be heard, then came the human screams of extreme pain. Ms. Liang suffered greatly, both physically and mentally, in this horrifying environment. She showed symptoms of hypertension and almost lost her eyesight. She was released on bail for medical treatment in 2002. Mr. Mi was released later due to various symptoms. After returning home, they resumed their practice of Falun Gong and recovered their health gradually.

The couple's daughter also went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was detained. On April 18, 2002, the couple went to the Fujiazhuang Police Station to request the return of their daughter's ID card, because the police had confiscated it without any just cause, making it impossible for their daughter to work. Instead of receiving justice, Ms. Liang was sent to the forced labor camp for a second time. She was released on June 28, 2002, due to her partial loss of eyesight. Mr. Mi lost his eyesight due to fright and worries, making him unable to care for himself.

Ms. Liang resumed the practice of Falun Gong when she returned home. She recovered her health soon afterward. On the morning of March 19, 2007, Ms. Liang was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong in the neighborhood of Xiuyue Street when some patrol guards reported her to the police. The Xiuyue Street police arrested her. At 2:30 the afternoon, four policemen and one policewoman searched her, took her house key and broke into her home. Mr. Mi was at home, but could not see them. They showed a search warrant to the neighbors then confiscated a computer, an MP3 player, over 20 charm amulets, and one set of Falun Gong exercise audio tapes. The police also obtained the cell phone number of the couple's daughter, Ms. Mi Liangzi. They called the daughter and asked her to go to the police station to get the house key back. When Ms. Mi Liangzi went to the station, the officers attempted to arrest her.

On March 20, 2007, police chief Gao Tiansheng forcibly sent Ms. Liang to Yaojia Detention Center for detention.
