    Numerous Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in Beijing, Their Homes Ransacked

    Around January 24, 2008, numerous Falun Gong practitioners from Beijing were arrested and their homes were ransacked.

    Beijing Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Wenfeng was arrested by the police

    Around January 24, 2008, Beijing Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Wenfeng was taken away by the police. Several other practitioners were also arrested with him.

    Jinkui Decoration Plant in the Heizhuanghu, Chaoyang District of Beijing was ransacked by the police

    On January 24, 2008, the Jinkui Decoration Plant at the Heizhuanghu, Chaoyang District of Beijing was ransacked by the police. All employees, both practitioners and non-practitioners, were taken away. As of January 26, more than ten non-practitioners were released. Ten others, including several Falun Gong practitioners, were still being held and nobody knows their whereabouts.

    Beijing Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Peng Bin's home was ransacked. He was forced to leave home and become homeless and destitute

    On the morning of January 24, 2008, Beijing police suddenly illegally searched Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Peng Bin's home and his Crystal Factory. They threatened and interrogated over ten employees of the factory. The employees were held in a room, were not allowed to make phone calls and illegally detained for as long as eight hours. The police also took away the designer, Liu Hong. Mr. Peng's wife requested the release of her husband. The next day Mr. Peng was released, but was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. After Mr. Peng left home, the police officers and the special agents followed Mr. Peng's wife and monitored the factory. Their phones were also tapped.

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhao Shuqin and her family were arrested by the police from Dongcheng Police Station, Chongwen District in Beijing

    Around 9:00 a.m. on January 24, 2008, the police from Dongcheng Police Station, Chongwen District in Beijing arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhao Shuqin, her son Yang Moyu, her sister-in-law Ms. Yang Junmei and her husband Mr. Yang Tiejun. At 6:00 p.m. , her husband was released. Her home and her company were ransacked. The police also confiscated her car.

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Cai Changhe was taken away from her home in Shunyi District, Beijing

    On December 25, 2007, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Cai Changhe from the Shengli Residential Quarters in the Shunyi District of Beijing was arrested.

    On January 25, 2008, police officers were spread all over the streets of Beijing. They stopped the incoming and outgoing cars and requested all passengers get out and show them their IDs. Their aggressive behavior caused panic in Beijing.

    With the 2008 Olympics coming, the Chinese Communist Party still persecutes and arrests Falun Gong practitioners on a large scale.
