Mr. Huang Futang, who is retired, was illegally arrested and brutally tortured on June 6, 2009. After failing to extort a confession, without any proof, the police sentenced him to one and a half year of forced labor. He was detained in Shangdong Forced Labor Camp located in Zhangqiu City. This is his second time that he has been jailed in a forced labor camp.

On June 6, 2009, the Domestic Security Team Captain Du Gang, along with police officers Zhang Yong, Niu Yong, Liu Hongbao and Che from the 11th Squadron of Zhangdian District Precinct, disguised themselves as plumbers and let Mr. Huang's wife open the door. They then proceeded to kick Mr. Huang, who was wearing only underwear at the time.

After the brutal beating, the police handcuffed Mr. Huang and raised him into their car, making his hands bleed. They continued to abuse him on the way to their station located in Xia Villege.

Upon arriving at the police station, Mr. Huang was locked onto the iron chair, where he could not move his hands or feet. Zhang Yong, Niu Yong, Liu Hongbao and Che tortured him for three days and four nights. Mr. Huang had bleeding wounds all over his body. He suffered headache, faint, vertigo and extreme pain in his back and shoulders. His calf was also painful and swollen. His whole body was bruised and became numb.

Huang Futang did not speak to the police, so they sent him to Zibo Detention Center. When the guards there saw that Huang's entire body was covered with bruises and blood, they refused to accept him. Therefore, police officers Niu Yong and Liu Hongbao took Mr. Huang to the 4th People's Hospital of Zibo City for a proof of his hematology results to the detention center. Eventually Huang was accepted. Niu Yong and Liu Hongbao kept cursing him on the way. Their police car number is: Lu OC0372.

Huang Futang was sentenced to one and a half year of forced labor camp without any statement. On July 4, 2009, he was sent to the 7th Ward of Shangdong Forced Labor Camp located in 29-161 Guangzhuang Township, Zhangqiu City). As a result of beatings from the police, Mr. Huang suffered headaches, vertigo, back and leg pain, inability to sleep, anxiety and other consequences. He was forced to work from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on a daily basis.

Mr. Huang's wife was also arrested and detained for two days. The police extorted 5,000 yuan from their daughter before her release.

Mr. Huang Futang was sent to detention centers four times. Since 2001, he had been jailed at Qiugu Forced Labor Camp in Boshan for three and a half years. In the forced labor camp, the guards spit on the ground and stick a lit cigarette on the ground. Huang Futang was forced to sit on a stool, where his feet could not touch the ground anywhere except on that cigarette. Once Mr. Huang's feet fell down, they were burned. Even now, there are still scars on his feet from that cigarette burn.
