At present, for every disciple both inside and outside of China, clarifying the truth of Falun Gong to people around the world is the most important task in "assisting the teacher in the human world".

Family members' Appeal: Please help us in appealing our case (7/26/00)

Around 9:00 PM July 21st, 20 or so people from the dispatch office of the public security bureau in Shigang Dajie Avenue lead by their director, deputy chief, and secretary of the political and judiciary committee came to my home. They yelled out loudly to have the door opened for them. Because of their rude and unreasonable behavior, my spouse Yu Jingxia refused to open the door. Later, security officers and police smashed a big whole on the theft deterrent door (about 20cm by 30cm in size), and broke into my home. My spouse asked them to present relevant identification cards. A gentleman whose last name is Zhou replied, "With regard to Falun Gong, we can do whatever we want. My spouse kindly reminded them that doing so is against the law. Police told her that there's no violation of law, of any kind, with regard to Falun Gong, and if you go filing a lawsuit against us, no one dares to take your case. They went on to beat my spouse, and arrested over a dozen people at scene.

July 22nd morning, when I came back home, I saw that the door was broken, and the entire home was completely ransacked. At that moment, Zhou was in possession of the keys to my home, and had broken into my home with two other security officers. They started taking pictures. I asked for the keys to be returned, and he said I had to get the keys by going to the dispatch office. They left arrogantly upon finishing taking pictures.

Later, when I went to ask for my spouse and the keys, I saw two women who were hung by their arms with handcuffs on their wrists in an enclosed area for parking vehicles. I wasn't allowed to see my spouse. The director gave me back the keys, and said, "You can file a lawsuit wherever you feel like, and we have followed the procedures." (Until this day, I haven't seen any legal document that outlines the so-called procedures.) In the end, the child was allowed to see her mother briefly. And only after that I came to know that she had been handcuffed all the time. Back then; in rejection to cooperate in this unrestrained illegal and criminal action, she had to go on a hunger strike by refraining from eating and drinking to raise attention from relevant authorities. She has been on a hunger strike until now.

I was both angry and saddened. Public security officers completely ransacked the civilian residence without presenting any document and without any cause. Arresting and beating people at will, leaving the scene unattended, and then they turned around and accused the victims as criminals. After all, who are the criminals? Who ordained this law? Which article of the nation's law dictates that this could be done? Who gave them the authority? They are harassing the people, and breaking into residence on their own cause. This is violating the law and committing a crime! The Constitution protects citizens' freedom of speech, freedom of belief, as well as personal safety. Their ignoring the law and order to this extent is to paint a dark picture for the country. The bright images of the government and people's police are entirely ruined by their behavior. Is the government in people's heart supposed to treat its own people this way?

Currently the child cries every day. Especially when she heard that her mother is still on a hunger strike, and is still being beaten and scolded and discriminated against by the police. She often cries out in her dream, "I want my mom!" The happy family no so long ago in my memory turning into such a sad and lonely place, I felt chilled myself, "All in all, could it be that this is just because she has practiced Falun Gong?"

Hereby, as a family member of the victim, I strongly demand that my spouse be released immediately, and all Falun Gong practitioners who have been put into illegal custody be released immediately! I appeal to all kind-hearted people with predestined relationship to extend your righteous hands to help us seek protection under law. We are in urgent need of leaders at all levels who, as servants to the people, execute the law fairly and impartially and make the right decision on behalf of the people!
