[Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Three local practitioners arrested for filing a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin
Three practitioners from around the city of Suzhou filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. They are:
Zhang Meixia, female, 50, retired worker, address is Lemapuo #4, Guwu Street, Suzhou City Zhu Aping, female, 33, unemployed, Changqiaopuo Garden Building #25 Room 401, Wuxian City Lu Huiqun, female, 29, small business owner, Chunshen Apartment Buidling #3 Room 201, the township of Huangdai, Wuxian City
The three practitioners took a copy of the legal brief for the case against Jiang Zemin, which was previously published on Minghui, to Beijing on December 6th, 2000. They officially submitted the legal brief to the Chinese High Court on December 8th and were immediately taken into custody. That same evening, the police from Suzhou ransacked the homes of all three practitioners. They were brought back to a Suzhou detention center on December 8th (no one knows where exactly they are being held). They are being accused of "using the organization of a cult to slander and accuse President Jiang Zemin.
Zhu Aping, one of the three practitioners, was released from the Subei 1st Labor Station only a month ago after serving a 1-year sentence. While in the labor camp, she wrote statements attacking Falun Gong under duress. After her release, she decided to use her actions to demonstrate her faith in Falun Gong. This is the 2nd and 3rd arrest for the two other practitioners. The husband of Lu Huiqun is currently being detained for practicing Falun Gong as well.
The action of the three practitioners has inspired the local practitioners to do more to tell the truth to the people.
[Beijing] My experiences while holding an appeal for Falun Gong on Tiananmen Square
One day at the end of October, sixteen of us went to Tiananmen Square to spread the Dafa and perform the Falun Gong exercises. The group included teenagers as well as grandfathers in their 60's. Around noon, we held up the banner written with the words of "Falun Dafa is good" next to the Golden Water Bridge (translator's note: it is a prominent landmark right before the front gate of the Forbidden City). We kept running with the banner while crying out "Falun Dafa is good." There were also other practitioners performing the Falun Gong exercises on the side. The plainclothes agents at first did not know what to do. Only six people were arrested, and the remaining practitioners were able to get away safely. No matter if they were senior citizens or young children, all the practitioners who were caught were forced into the police vans, while the police beat, kicked and hit them with police batons. The police also cursed practitioners with words that a normal person would be embarrassed even to hear and behaved worse than common thugs.
After being thrown into vans, we were brought into the Xuanwu Police Station. Because I did not want to tell them my address and name, the police hit my neck and both legs with police batons. I still refused to say anything, and they continued to beat me. In the end they gave up and sent me to the prison cell. Before they sent me to the cell, they said, "You would not say anything to us. We will just let the prisoners to beat you to death and see if you will say anything then." They surrounded me and tried to peel my clothes off. I realized that I should not just meekly suffer in silence, and an incredible amount of strength surged through my body. Even though I was surrounded by a number of the police, they could not hold me down. They were all shocked by how strong I became all of a sudden. They stopped beating me and stopped trying to take off my clothes. They put shackles on my feet and moved me to another cell, and they did not order the fellow inmates to beat me. The police from my hometown later recognized me and tried to bring me back. On the way back home, I was able to get away and escaped from their grasp.
[Northwestern China] Many Falun Gong banners appear in a major northwestern Chinese city
On December 13th, in spite of the extremely cold weather, Falun Gong practitioners at a major northwestern Chinese city hung more than 10 Falun Gong banners on the sides of major roads and overpass bridges. The banners had the words "Fa Rectifying the Universe," "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance," and "Fa Rectifying the Human World" written on them. Many banners were not taken down for close to an entire day. Now, a large number of police can be seen guarding the area.
Falun Gong banners also appeared overnight at a famous tourist attraction. A banner with the words "the Buddha-light illuminates everywhere" was placed on top of the power line over a major intersection. The power lines were 4 to 5 meters (13 to 16 ft) off the ground. A practitioner did this in the middle of the night with just one try, while the authorities were not able to take down the banner until the noon of the next day. This greatly disturbed the local police, and they have conducted many searches and investigations in vain trying to find out who was responsible.
[Southern China] More and more practitioners step forward in Tiananmen Square
More and more practitioners from a number of provinces on the south side of China have been greatly encouraged by the Michigan Experience Sharing Conference. They have decided to travel to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. They deeply appreciate the extra time that Master Li has so benevolently given to each practitioner, and they all want to take advantage of this last opportunity to tell the truth about Falun Gong to the people of the world. Every day, there are several hundred practitioners in Tiananmen Square to tell the truth about Falun Gong and to expose the evil.
[Beijing] Evil forces plan desperate attempts to vilify Falun Gong
Recently a certain department of the Beijing Railroad Commission received a decree from their higher-ups. It ordered all the young male workers in the department to gather at the certain place, where everyone was given a wooden bat. The plan was to bring them to Tiananmen Square and "beat every single person in the sight with enough force to cause death." It was later scrapped for the time being. According to knowledgeable sources, people like Jiang Zemin were afraid that there will be too many practitioners on Tiananmen Square one day. It was intended to make it look as if practitioners went mad and assaulted innocent bystanders.
The evil forces have lost their roots. The worse they behave on the surface, the weaker they actually become. It looks as if the day of reckoning is not far away.
[Urumqi City, Xinjiang Province] Female practitioner makes a clever getaway after being arrested
Around noon of December 12th, 2000, a pregnant practitioner (her baby is due in one month, her husband went out one day to distribute Falun Gong flyers and never came back) went to post a Falun flyer on an ATM machine outside of an Urumqi bank. The manager of the bank happened to see her and told two security guards to follow her. They then found another security officer, and all three of them ganged up and forced the practitioner to go to the local security office with them. The practitioner was then sent to the Shihua Police Station and then moved overnight to the Urumqi Police Station. Afterwards, they decided to ransack the home of the practitioner, so they sent two police cars with six or seven police officers and brought the practitioner to her home. In front of all the police, the practitioner was able to get away and went back to telling truth to the people of the world.
[Yumen City, Gansu Province] Local police work hard to block Falun Gong news
In order to impose an information blockade on Falun Gong, the Yumen police blocked all the Internet proxy servers outside of China. The police also ordered all the local Internet administrators to work in shifts and make sure that the local Internet system is being watched at all times. They have been told that they have to watch for visitors to the Minghui website and those who have sent news items to Minghui.
Recently practitioner Sun Lixia was fired from her job for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Her husband Wang Xiaodong along with fellow practitioners Li Ping, Li Wentao and Zhang Qingjun were forced to leave their homes for practicing Falun Gong. Lu Yarong and a person with the last name of Li were arrested when they were out distributing Falun Gong flyers, and were detained by the Miqian Police for 30 days. Their families were also forced to pay 5000 Yuan (Chinese dollars, about ten month salary of an averaged worker in cities of China) each before they could be released.
[Beijing] Practitioner Lu Yao sentenced to a labor camp
Lu Yao was turned in and arrested on October 13th when he went to distribute Falun Gong flyers. He was held at the Qinhe Detention Center for more than a month. At the end of November, he was given a 1-year sentence at the labor camp and has been sent to the Tuanhe Labor Station. His mother Li Qiuxia, a naval officer, has been repeatedly detained by the Chinese Navy for practicing Falun Gong, and still has not been released. His father has been suffering from an incredible amount of mental anguish over what has happened to them.
[Zibe City, Shandong Province] News from the Shandong 4th Labor Station
The Shandong 4th Labor Station is located in Wangcun, Zhoucun District, Zibe City. The following is a report from a female practitioner who has just been released from the labor station:
The Falun Gong practitioners are divided into 5 platoons, and all of the female practitioners are being held on the 5th floor. On November 5th, a number of practitioners went out to the yard and began to recite Lunyu (the first page of Zhuan Falun) out loud. Female guards tried to stop them and did not succeed, so they asked a few male guards to come over and help. The male guards began to hit the practitioners with electric batons and took them away, and the practitioners were not brought back until a week later. The face of one practitioner from the 1st platoon had turned blue and swollen. When they were first taken away, a majority of practitioners at the labor station started a group hunger strike, asking for their return. After refusing to eat for a total of 4 meals, the guards agreed to bring the practitioners back to their normal cells.
Once, for reasons unknown, the guards came upstairs and used electric batons to hit practitioners. Four practitioners were taken away, including Li Guohua from the 4th platoon. When she was brought back a week later, her hands and feet were extremely swollen, and she could no longer look after herself. The only way for her to walk was to have two people supporting her, one on each side. A majority of practitioners held a group hunger strike in protest once again and demanded the four practitioners to be brought back as well.
As a punishment for performing Falun Gong exercises, one practitioner was handcuffed in the bathroom for two days and one night. Her hands and feet were locked together, and she suffered tremendous pain. The news of practitioners being beaten and punished could be heard in the labor station all the time.
In addition, four practitioners from Jinan City, Shandong Province have been sent to the labor camps recently. They are Wang Shude, Wang Yancai, Sun Guohao, and He Guangju.
[Jixi City] The Dihao district police openly rob practitioners
On October 9th, 5 practitioners from the district of Didao went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and two local policemen (Wu Yunfu, and a person with the surname of Ma) recognized us. On the way back, they robbed us of all the money that we had with us (over 800 Yuan).
[Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Practitioner forced to attend sequestered "class"
On the afternoon of December 15th, police from the Jiangnang Center Street Police Station went to the Guangzhou People's Machinery Factory and took away practitioner Wang Hongfa. They told him that they were sending him to a fully sequestered "class," and he would not be allowed to have any contact with the outside world while the "class" was in session. When his family went to ask when he would be released, the police refused to give them an answer.
[Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] There are rewards for good deeds and punishments for bad deeds
Practitioner Yao Baorong worked in the Feikong Instrument Factory in Lanzhou city, Gansu province. On May 20th, she jumped from the 5th floor office of the Anning Police Station while crying out "Falun Dafa is good", and fulfilled her solemn promise of "using her life to validate the Dafa." Her story has been reported on Minghui many times. While the malicious police from the Anning Police Station were mainly responsible for her death, the security officers in her factory played in an undeniably negative role. They have worked with the Anning Police on numerous occasions to persecute practitioners. They have watched, followed, conducted home searches, and used scare tactics against many practitioners. Recently, they sent one practitioner to the labor camp and another to the detention center.
On the evening of December 2nd, 2000, Li Heping (the head of the security division of the factory, around 40 years old), Li Wushang (General Secretary of the division, around 40 years old), and a security officer with the surname of Chen (around 30 years old) went to a night club at Feijiaying in the district of Anning to entertain themselves. Around 3am, an argument broke out, and they were stabbed. Liu died on the scene, and the two other people were rushed into the hospital in critical condition.
