LET IT BE KNOWN, That it is with great honor that we come together to support the Falun Gong practitioners in their Walk Across Michigan, September 26 to October 8, 2001, as part of the SOS Global Rescue Walk. We commend them for their work to raise awareness of the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Falun Gong is an ancient Chinese exercise that improves health, reduces stress, and increases energy. This ancient practice has received enormous support from the United States Congress as well as other human rights groups but still remains targeted by the communist regime in China. Falun Gong practitioners have been courageously appealing to the oppressive totalitarian Chinese government for legal rights, despite enduring regular beatings and torture.

This Walk symbolizes the great courage demonstrated by Falun Gong practitioners in China as they bravely face government-sanctioned bodily harm and imprisonment and it is an urgent appeal for the immediate release of all in China who are jailed and imperiled for their practice of Falun Gong. Even though each day brings more and more lives into danger, Falun Gong practitioners preserve with inner peace and strength by upholding their belief and principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.

IN SPECIAL TRIBUTE, Therefore, This document is signed and dedicated to commend and give our continued support to the entire body of Falun Gong world practitioners as they continue to work to change the hearts of the leaders of the People's Republic of China and turn them toward full recognition and protection of Falun Gong practitioners.
