Around 7 o'clock on the morning of January 20, 2001, instructor Sun, policeman Li Hui and other policemen from Hushan Police Substation in Lichang District of Qingdao City came to Jiang Ping's business stall. They told her that their leader wanted to talk with her and that it wouldn't take long. Jiang Ping didn't know that it was a trap and went with them. Unexpectedly, they drove directly to the Guest House in Lichang District where more than ten Falun Dafa practitioners had already been detained. The leaders of the Politics and Law Committee, Neighborhood Committee, the police substation and the practitioners' working units were all present. They intended to forcefully transform the practitioners. During the so-called "transformation" period, Jiang Ping insisted on practicing Falun Gong exercises. For this, the so-called "reformed people" threatened to hang her up or send her to the Detention Center. On January 31, they promised to release her. Jiang Ping's husband, with their two children, came to pick her up, however, they changed their minds and said that they couldn't release her. Instead, they wanted to take her for a medical examination. Jiang Ping's husband intervened and stopped them. He asked them to let Jiang Ping go home with the children. Later on, the police tried to force Jiang Ping's husband to bring her back. Her husband (not a practitioner) couldn't find her and so was detained for 15 days beginning on February 6. Ever since Jiang Ping left the transformation class, the police have employed a lot of manpower in trying to arrest her. There are plainclothes police around her home and her relatives' homes. Her family members have been followed and robbed of their normal life. Jiang Ping's whereabouts is still unknown. Jiang Ping has two children, a 13-year-old and one who is only three. The peaceful and happy family has been broken apart. On the eve of the Spring Festival, Damaidao local police station policeman Cao Jianyong and another office worker went to a Dafa practitioner's home. Because they knocked on the door very loudly, the practitioner did not open it for them. Unexpectedly, Cao Jianyong climbed over the wall and entered the practitioner's home like a bandit. He claimed to be 'looking up' the registered permanent residence's documents. Has there ever been, in this world, such a 'looking up [of] registered permanent residence's documents'? 3. Also, according to reliable sources, several Falun Dafa practitioners moved to Damaidao to live in rented rooms because their inhabited area is under a relocation plan. The Damaidao local police station ordered the Falun Dafa practitioners and their family members to move out of Damaidao immediately after the Spring Festival. No one knew from which level of authority they received such instructions. They also basely exert pressure on the landlords, threatening that if the practitioners did not move out, they would setup a "study class" for the landlords. The landlords, against their will and reluctantly, forced the practitioners to move out. The practitioners and their family members had no choice but to leave. Even on the very day they were moving, the police wearing plainclothes, came to the practitioners' places. The police picked up things at will and threw them towards the outside. Such an action caused a lot of confusion among some Falun Dafa practitioners' family member. They thought "Only because we are the family members of Falun Dafa practitioners, must we be deprived of the right of a place to live"? In an attempt to find these four Falun Dafa practitioners and the printing machine they used, the wicked police in Pingdu would frequently harass Dafa practitioners' family members. They tapped all telephone lines of practitioners, and frequently went to their homes to make arrests late at night. Some practitioners were arrested without being allowed to put on clothes. The police also beat them and extorted confessions by torture; many practitioners were injured or crippled from the beating. Their houses were looted; even the pans and pots were completely destroyed, and the cows and sheep were taken away. Among the 18 practitioners who went to Beijing in November of 2000, the police illegally put them into prison for 2 months. Some are still imprisoned, and some were sentenced to serve terms in labor camps. The police also extorted from the practitioners' relatives fines ranging from 1,000 Yuan to 15,000 Yuan, for those who had gone to Beijing twice. A nurse was fired from her job and is still in prison. The rest were under "double-dismissal"no job, no payment. Practitioners who were released on bail had to pay 3,000 Yuan for the so called "guarantee fee". Xerox machines and a typewriter that practitioners purchased were also illegally confiscated. The 610 Office illegally locked up those who had not been to Beijing for transformation. During the suppression, the evil deeds of the police were in full display. In order to defraud money, they collected fines without providing any receipts and without following any regulations. Misfortune fell onto practitioners as well as their relatives. Some families live in starvation. Their daily necessities have to be provided for by other practitioners. [Jiangyou City, Sichuan Province] Municipal Public Security Bureau Forces Divorce and Destroys Family One Dafa practitioner from Jiangyou city who started to practice Falun Gong in 1999 was labeled as a "director of Assistance Center" by the local police station, merely for teaching elderly people the exercises and cleaning the practicing field Zhongba Theater ahead of time in. This practitioner's property was confiscated and she was put under penal detention. Later, her spouse bailed her out by having to pay a recognizance bail of 5000 Yuan. Instead she was to be monitored at home. The police forced the practitioner's spouse to lock her at home for up to half a year. During this period, this practitioner was once again detained for 15 days because she signed on the "public appeal letter to the People's Congress". The police often threatened this practitioner's spouse, frequently intruding into their home and telling him to divorce his wife. This practitioner was unable to endure their inhuman treatment and went to appeal. She roamed about outside all the while and a warrant for her arrest was issued. We want to ask the police station, what guilt does this Dafa practitioner have? Why do you force people to divorce? Since her husband was put into a labor camp for practicing Dafa, only she and her child were left at home. The seven people passed the picture to the person outside the door, who then ran away with it. When this practitioner tried to pursue that person, that person had already gone. The people from the local police station even shamelessly said, "We have not taken your property". This kind of action of stealing and deceiving is even beneath that of bandits. In the morning of March 8th, 2001, after the police illegally confiscated Hefei Dafa practitioner Li Yuling's property, there were people monitoring her whereabouts under her building. In the afternoon when Li Yuling went downstairs to go outside, she was taken away by force. Currently she is under penal detention at the 38^th cell of Hefei First Watch House (practitioners Lu Biying and teacher Zhang from Hefei Industrial University are also imprisoned here) When the police made the arrest, Li's spouse Liu Gongli delivered several just words and was thus, questioned about whether he practices or not. Liu answered yes; he was also forcibly taken away and put under detention on charges of violating public safety regulations. Liu is presently illegally imprisoned at Hefei Second Watch House. Later it was reported that on the 6^th and 7^th, throughout the entire city, the police and street office carried out a new round of persecution against Falun Gong practitioners. Many practitioners were arrested or had their property confiscated. Also, a Hefei Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Jie, female, who once appealed together with her family members in December 1999, is presently imprisoned at Hefei First Watch House. The flames have burned for one and a half months. On the surface of ground the scope of the fire is only 1 square meter. The exterior of the flame displays yellowish golden color, and it gradually becomes a pale blue closer towards the ground. The flame reaches a height of 50 centimeters and is fairly mild. When standing in the direction that the wind is blowing in, one can smell a light fragrance. To people's surprise, when lying down on the ground close to the flame, one can clearly hear a sound almost identical to that of water boiling. It could be out of fearing that the fire will get out of control that people have placed large rocks surrounding the surface of the burning flames. Yet the flames remain steady. When the reporter poured an entire bucket of water on the flames, the fire extinguished right away.
