Photo Report: 2001 New York Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference

More than 500 Falun Dafa practitioners from overseas and various states of the United States gathered in New York today and attended the first day of the 2001 New York Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference. They were here to share their experiences of practicing Falun Dafa, and at the same time, appeal to the kind-hearted people to call on Jiang Zemin to stop the brutal persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in China.

My Experience of Being Tortured in a Labor Camp and in a Mental Hospital

I obtained the Fa in December 1998. Through studying the Fa and practicing the exercises, I realized how to live as a human being, how to be a nice person, and how to be a genuine practitioner. Dafa can upgrade a person' morality, and enable practitioners to succeed in self-cultivation.

The Chaoyang District Detention Center in Beijing, Force-Fed and Tortured Dafa Practitioners

[Minghui Net] On the morning of January 1, 2001, many of us went together to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to validate Dafa. [great law and universal principle] We were caught and sent to the Tiananman Police Substation. There were many practitioners detained there and together we recited "Lun Yu" [the foreword in Zhuan Falun] and poems from Hong Yin. [a book of Teacher' poems] Then we were transferred to the Chaoyang District Detention Center. On the way to the detention center, we chanted, "Falun Dafa is good," "Dafa rectifies the earth and the universe," "Reinstate the innocence of Teacher Li." After we reached the detention center and got out of the vehicles, we were pushed into interrogation rooms, where we were asked our names and home addresses. The guards grabbed the hair of those practitioners who refused to cooperate and violently struck their heads against the wall. During the torture, my lip became bloody. I was stripped of all my clothes and pushed into a cell for a body search. After a short while, my clothes, which had been damaged, were thrown into the cell. My sweater and coat disappeared. So I had to stay in the detention center for over twenty days with only a thin layer of clothing. Nobody in the detention center cared about my condition. Later, a practitioner took off one of her sweaters and gave it to me to keep warm.
