On the morning of May 31st, the sky above Shijiazhuang city was gloomy as usual. After local practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts together with other practitioners from all over the world, at about 8 AM, Shijiazhuang started to have its first rain of the season; it lasted until 12:30 PM. After that the sky cleared up and turned sunny and bright. The hot and dry weather of the past few days had completely disappeared.

Over the past several years, the summers in Shijiazhuang have been unbearably hot. The temperature in the city has typically been the highest in China. The air is polluted and often appears to be dusty. The severity of the pollution is ranked among the top three in the country. It is the first time in years that people have seen such good weather during this season.

[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Practitioners Send Forth Righteous Thoughts and Assist Teacher in Fa Rectification

On the morning of May 30th, practitioners in the city of Wuhan sent forth righteous thoughts to assist Teacher in Fa rectification. The effect was quite good. The gloomy, rainy weather turned into bright sunshine that morning. All of us practitioners in Wuhan are deeply grateful to the strengthening [of the divine powers] from the Teacher.

[Emei Mountain City, Sichuan Province] Dafa Practitioners Hang Up Many Exquisite Banners in the Downtown Area

From May 10th to the 13th, in celebration of the second World Falun Dafa Day, many rainbow-colored circles appeared around the sun in the sky above Emei Mountain. Many people including non-practitioners saw this.

On May 13, Falun Dafa practitioners hung up many exquisite Dafa banners in the downtown area, including "Falun Dafa is the Righteous Fa", "Falun Dafa is Good", "The Fa Rectifies the Universe," and "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance (including the Falun emblem)." Many non-practitioners exclaimed in praise after seeing these banners. Some policemen also admired the feats and courage of Dafa practitioners.

On May 22nd, a practitioner from Fuxi town, Emei city was taken away by the police without any cause and was unlawfully beaten by thugs in the police station. Three of his teeth were broken and he quickly lost consciousness. He has only recently been released. On May 22nd, three practitioners from Suishan town, Emei city were illegally detained and have been suffering from inhumane torture.

[Changchun City, Jilin Province] The Voice of the Universe Rings Out Above a Female Labor Camp

Early in the morning, at about 4am, on May 30th, along with the rising of the sun, the "Voice of the Universe" rang above Heizuizi Female Labor Camp in Changchun city. The Dafa music was played along with the broadcast from the World Falun Dafa Radio Station. This event shook the cosmos, effectively cleared out the evil, and greatly encouraged practitioners in the jail.

[Heilongjiang Province] Practitioners in a City Actively Join in the Fa Rectification

On the evening of May 19th, all practitioners in a city in Heilongjiang province stepped forward together and distributed tens of thousands of materials clarifying the truth. At 8:30 am on May 23, above the municipal government building came aloud the "Voice of the Universe" which shocked the evil forces. On the early morning of May 27th, above the city labor camp echoed the new articles from Teacher played through a loudspeaker, which greatly encouraged practitioners being held in detention.

After Teacher's article Suggestion (unofficial translation of the article's title) was released, practitioners outside of prison became concerned for their fellow practitioners in jail. So on the night of April 30, loudspeakers above Nanyang Detention Center No.1 and Nanyang Investigation Station at Yongan Road started to repeatedly play Master's three articles: Coercion Cannot Change People's Hearts, Persons in Charge of the European Fa Conference and All Attendees, and Suggestion. The voice echoed around the universe until dawn. Practitioners in jail were moved to tears. At 4:00 AM in the early morning, practitioners in all cells collectively practiced the exercises and effectively suffocated the evil. On May 13, near Nanyang Detention Center No. 2, Master's articles were played again. The voice was loud and it spread through the whole universe and suffocated the evil once more.

Note: after this incident, vicious thugs arrested some practitioners living near the detention center for an investigation. These villains also went to several practitioners' homes to harass them, trying to dig out more information about the loudspeakers.

[China] "Don't Worry, I Will Protect You with My Own Life!"

A fellow practitioner went to a neighborhood to distribute truth-clarifying literature. After she placed the materials inside a building and walked out, she heard someone running behind her. She turned around and saw an elderly man in his 60's. The elderly man pointed at her and asked with a threatening voice, "You have placed all those leaflets in that building, haven't you?" The fellow practitioner calmly and kindly told him, "Yes, I have placed them in order to let ordinary people know that Falun Gong is the genuine righteous law! To persecute Falun Dafa is to invite retribution from heaven! Distributing truth-clarifying leaflets is an act of great benevolence to save sentient beings!" The elderly man yelled out loudly and was not willing to hear a word. The practitioner continued to persuade him, "Everything in the newspapers and on TV is propaganda made up to slander Falun Dafa. Don't be fooled!" After quite a while, the elderly man was still unwilling to listen. Instead he insisted on dragging the practitioner to the police station. He shouted, "My son works right in the police station!" The fellow practitioner peacefully said to him, "What I told you is from my heart, and for your own good! You are determined not to listen and instead insist on doing wrong deeds. Then you stand right on this spot and don't move!" She walked straight ahead after saying these words and saw a taxi driving by. She waved at the taxi to stop, and looked back. The vicious elderly man was fixed on the spot with his eyes wide open. The practitioner said to the taxi driver, "I am a Falun Gong practitioner, and someone is chasing me. Do you dare to drive me away?" To her surprise, the driver smiled without hesitation, "Falun Gong practitioners, these are the best people on earth, do get in the car!" After getting in the taxi, the practitioner told the driver that she worried that the elderly man might take note of the taxi's plate number. And she told the driver to drop her off after turning around the next corner. However, the kind and righteous-minded driver replied, "Don't worry, I will protect you with my own life!"

[Northeast China] Falun Gong's Truth-Clarifying Literature Is in Demand

During the celebration of World Falun Dafa Day (May 13, 2001), Falun Dafa practitioners in a northeast city stepped forward one after another, taking various approaches to validate Falun Dafa, and to expose and eradicate the evil forces. Some practitioners distributed leaflets for clarifying the truth; some posted Dafa materials along the streets, on public squares, and on buildings; some set up loud speakers; and some hung up banners. The perverse forces were scared to death, while the public excitedly praised the actions of the Falun Dafa practitioners. Some practitioners took VCD discs with truth-clarifying materials onto a bus for distribution. Many passengers got up from their seats to ask for them. They extended their hands and asked, "Are these Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials? Give me one so I can have a look at home." The driver also asked for a copy of the VCD. It didn't take long to distribute all the material. When fellow practitioners got off the bus, the driver smiled at them, "Do get onto my bus the next time that you distribute materials!"

[Northeast China] A Practitioner from the Northeast Suffers from Torture for Going to Beijing to Validate Falun Dafa

I was apprehended on October 6, 2000 when appealing for Falun Dafa in Beijing. I was sent to a police substation in the suburbs. Police officers handcuffed me to a big tree in the yard. They hit and kicked me, and burned my nostrils and lips with cigarettes. After several hours of torture, they fed me hallucinogens, and I was forced to sign my name. I gave them my address and was sent back to my home area for an illegal detention of 15 days. I was also fined several thousand Yuan [more than half a year's income of an average urban worker in China].

The second time I went to Beijing, I was caught while holding up an unfurled banner. The police took me to Mentougou Detention Center. During the period of my 10-day hunger strike, I threw up and passed blood every day. I was later released and got back home.

[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Wanjia Labor Camp in Harbin Plans On More Cruel Tortures to Persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners

On May 25, 2001, over 200 Falun Dafa practitioners in Wanjia Labor Camp participated in a group practice of Falun Gong exercises. Wicked policemen viciously beat them. It has been learned that this labor camp has sent people out of town to learn more vicious ways of persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners, in preparation for enforcing a more stringent persecution. The details are not known yet. We hope Falun Dafa practitioners will send forth righteous thoughts to eradicate the evil.

[Yantai City, Shandong Province] The 610 Office of Yantai Holds An Illegal 3-Month Long "Transformation Class"

Today (May 29, 2001) the 610 Office [an office created by the government to deal specifically with issues related to Falun Gong] of Yantai municipal government has started an illegal transformation class in Beitao. Over 30 people have been forced to attend. Practitioners' work units have been notified about this class. It will last for 3 months. The work units of quite a few practitioners deceived them by telling them they were needed to discuss some work related issues. And then the practitioners were forcibly taken away from their work units.

A new round of arresting Falun Dafa practitioners was carried out this May in Yantai City, Shandong Province. Their families have no idea where these practitioners are. A female Dafa practitioner in Yantai Port was denied her salary simply because she had not signed a guarantee statement [a statement promising to quit practicing Falun Gong], but was still required to work. Her husband went to Beijing to validate Dafa this past January, and was detained for a month on criminal charges. This practitioner refused to write anything that is against Dafa. His work unit needed him for his technical expertise, and paid the police 5,000 Yuan in exchange for his release. He, too, was required to work while not receiving any salary. This May, both the husband and wife were taken away and their young school-age daughter was left at home alone.

[Beijing] Police Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners Illegally

On May 24, 2001, in some districts of Beijing, half a dozen police officers and local government personnel went to the homes of Falun Gong practitioners to take them away forcibly with no legal documents whatsoever. They claimed that these practitioners had to attend the so-called transformation classes (lasting 15 days). It has been learned that Jiang Zemin's criminal clique has issued new directives to transform practitioners by force.

[Beijing] Police Force Falun Dafa Practitioner to Swallow Sulphuric Acid

Recently, a female Falun Dafa practitioner from Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province just returned from validating Falun Dafa in Beijing. She said that after she was arrested and taken to Tiananmen Police Substation, the police used paper rolls soaked in sulphuric acid to pour acid into her nose and then forced her to swallow it; they also beat her brutally. Her face was so deformed that taxi drivers were afraid to pick her up after she was released that night.

[Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Police Who Murdered Falun Dafa Practitioner Liu Shusong Commit Crimes Again

Recently, Falun Dafa practitioner Guan Lirong and others walked out of the forced labor camp protected by their righteous thoughts. Those lawless thugs from Shijiazhuang Public Security Bureau and 610 Office (a government office set up to handle Falun Gong related issues) were shocked to find the Falun Dafa practitioners gone and searched everywhere in Shijiazhuang city for them. At 10:00 PM on May 6, 2001, the thugs seized Falun Dafa practitioner Long Fengqin (female) and beat her unmercifully for no reason before letting her go. At 3:00 pm on May 8, 2001, the thugs rushed to Shijiazhuang Railway Maintenance Department, the work unit of Falun Dafa practitioner Wang Xinzhong, and took him away after beating him brutally. They tried to extort a confession from him by torturing him until May 10, but failed. They seized practitioner Wang's home key by force, and ransacked his home. They became angry after failing to find what they wanted and then placed Falun Dafa materials in his home and fabricated charges against him to be able to detain him indefinitely. Practitioner Wang Xinzhong got rid of the interference with righteous thoughts and walked out of the detention center in a dignified manner. He is forced to stay away from home.

These thugs did not give up, but fabricated a case against Falun Dafa practitioner Lu Rongfen from Zhao Village in Yuhua district, accusing her of being an accomplice. They rushed to Zhao Village to arrest her. Practitioner Lu was not at home at the time; the thugs became angry and took away her 19-year-old son (not a Falun Dafa practitioner) and interrogated him about his mother's whereabouts. They failed to get any information from the son and illegally sent him to a detention center. They stayed in practitioner Lu's home for many days in order to get awarded and praised by their higher-level authorities. Right now, Falun Dafa practitioner Lu Rongfen is forced to stay away from home.

Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Police Illegally Sentence an Elderly Female Falun Dafa Practitioner to Forced Labor Camp

Lu Suzhen, female, 68 years old, resides in the residential building of Dongming Bridge Kinescope Factory in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor reeducation after she was arrested for clarifying the truth of Falun Dafa to people on January 1, 2001. She is now illegally detained in No. 1 Brigade of Shijiazhuang Labor Camp.

Practitioner Lu learned Falun Gong in 1996. After practicing Falun Gong, she got rid of all her illnesses and her bad temper. At one time she was hit by a truck while riding a tricycle and fell to the ground. She stood up and said to the truck driver, "I am all right. You can go." The driver and the passers-by were very moved by her actions. After practicing Falun Gong, she became a person of high moral character, healthy in both mind and body.

Since July 1999, practitioner Lu went to Beijing to appeal, and was illegally detained and had a fine imposed twice. Shijiazhuang Labor Camp is now illegally reforming Falun Dafa practitioners by force. We call for attention to this 68-year-old lady from all people who uphold justice. Help to prevent similar tragedies such as the death of the elder Falun Dafa practitioner, Chen Zixiu, from ever happening again.

[Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Police Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners using Contemptible Means

Police of Benxi City colluded with the army to arrest Falun Dafa practitioner Zhao Chenglin (male), a retired soldier working in the Infectious Disease Hospital of Benxi City. In the morning of May 28, 2001, practitioner Zhao was deceived by army authorities in Qiaotou, Benxi city who told him to pick up an "army compensatory fund for housing." The army arranged over 30 special agents to hide along the way and they illegally arrested him. His whereabouts are unknown. His wife Wang Lijuan, a teacher at a business school in Benxi city was arrested on February 19, 2001, for practicing Falun Gong and being suspected of being a distributor and organizer of Falun Dafa materials. She has been illegally detained in Bailou Detention center in Benxi city for nearly four months.

Jiang Zemin's government is so wicked. As soon as school started, the principle, teachers and students in the school had to sign (the signatures against Falun Gong) one by one. He Xiuzhi, female, is a resident of Suishan town. She went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa in March 2000 and was illegally detained for three months. She was forced to pay 15,000 RMB (more than 21 months average salary in China) for the travel expenses of the police personnel. On New Year's Day 2001, she went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa and was fined 10,000 RMB (more than 14 months of average salary in China) for the travel (tour) expenses of the police personnel. In addition, she was illegally sentenced to 18 months of forced labor.

Xiong Guihua, female, is a resident of the town of Suishan in the city of Emei. On January 23, 2001, she posted truth-clarifying leaflets on the streets and was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor.

Wan Liping, female, is a farmer in Longchi town, Emei city. She distributed truth-clarifying materials in November 2000 and was illegally sentenced to 18 months of forced labor.

Xiao Hongjun, female, is an employee of Emei Seed Company. She went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa in June 2000 and was illegally detained for one month and had 20,000 RMB (more than two years of average salary in Chinese city) deducted from her salary for the travel (tour) expenses of the police personnel. In November 2000, she participated in an experience sharing conference and was illegally detained for one month. In January 2001, she was illegally sentenced to 18 months of forced labor.

Guo Qirong, female, is a retired engineer of Emei Mineral Spring Factory. She went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa in December and was arrested and illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor.

Zhang Shihua, female, is the retired employee of Emei 67 Factory. She went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa in June 2000 and was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor.

Liu Fengxia, female, is a farmer in Xinping town, Emei city. In December 2000, she only brought with her 50 RMB (just about 3 days of average salary in Chinese rural area) and rode her bicycle to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa. She was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor.

Dai Min, female, was a doctor at the Southwestern Transportation University, Emei Campus. She was dismissed from her work and was illegally sentenced to 18 months of forced labor.

Cui Xiaoping, female, was an employee of the Education Department in Leshan. She was dismissed from her work. She was arrested for going to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa on June 2000 and was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor.

Zhang Ping and Lin Fuzhi are both residents in Suishan town, Emei city. They were illegally detained on April 20, 2001 for no reason and are still not released until now.

Zhou Xiaojun, male, is a relative of an employee of Emei Cement Factory and a student at the Chinese Agriculture Farming University. The school illegally suspended him for one year because of his persistence in practicing Falun Gong. While he was at home, the police threatened that his whole family and relatives would be implicated and family members dismissed from their jobs if he continued to practice Falun Gong. Because of this, he was forced to leave home and wander about. Until now, his whereabouts are unknown.

Recently, police illegally ransacked the home of Falun Dafa practitioner Lin Xiumei (female) from Harbin city and confiscated her computer and printer. Without notifying Lin Ximei's family members, the police illegally sent her to Wanjia Labor Camp.

The wicked police ate and lived in Lin Xiumei's two houses and took things away from there. Now, even though the police have moved out of her homes, they changed the locks on her homes and sealed up the houses. Her husband and mother were forced to become homeless.

Yan Chunling, female, was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor for going to Beijing to appeal in May 2000. She is being detained in Wanjia Labor Camp for an extended term. Because she refused to quit practicing Falun Gong and resisted the reformation by the police in the labor camp, she was often locked up in a small cell and was given very little food only twice a day. The environment in the labor camp is abominable. Yan Chunling who used to be a healthy person had bumps and cuts all over her body. The guards did not allow her to see her relatives or let them send her food and clothing even though she already had a high fever for 40 days. One time, the doctor and three male prisoners in the labor camp viciously beat her .

[Qingdao City, Shandong Province] List of Those Who Persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners

The 610 Office (an office that especially deals with Falun Gong issues) of Shibei district, Qingdao city: Secretary Geng Shixiang (the main person in charge of 610 office), Cheng Zhimou (another person in charge of the 610 office), Wu Sudong (who has tortured practitioner Jiang Mingzhai, who has gone to Beijing to appeal about a dozen times, by pouring cold water on Jiang in the severe winter), deputy director of Qingdao City Public Security Bureau Chen Jiaxing (who especially persecutes Falun Gong). These criminals are extremely wicked, we hope Falun Dafa practitioners will send forth righteous thoughts together to eliminate the evil.

In addition, Liu Yanqin from Chengbei district, Qingdao city was enlightening along the evil path and helped the evil forces to reform Falun Dafa practitioners. She went around deceiving and persuading practitioners to turn in their Falun Dafa books. She also glorified the secretary of 610 Office Geng Shixiang by sending him a banner embroidered with words of praise and writing a biography for him. She is extremely shameless. Practitioners whose tianmu are open saw she was covered up to her neck with only the head left. We hope other practitioners are more alert and aren't moved by sentimentality and will resist the evil together. We hope to expose the similar situations in other areas and resist the evil together.

At 2:00PM, the city of Shenzhen was as dark as at night. All the stores turned on their lights and the cars turned on their high beams: it was complete darkness. This was a celestial phenomenon that I have not seen in all my eight years in Shenzhen city. But, in the last two months, such celestial phenomena have appeared three times. The strange celestial phenomenon forebodes the strange manners and morality of the time. I knew it was the evil demons bearing down on the city. I continuously recited, "The Fa rectifies the cosmos, the Evil is completely eliminated."
