A Summary and Analysis of this Year's Severe Drought in Numerous Regions of China

June 24, 2001

[Minghui Net]

There are a few sentences in the 56th Volume of Hangshu (History of the Han Dynasty) saying that, "If a county commits some wrongdoings, Heaven will first warn the people with disaster; if the people don't correct the mistake, some more strange things will happen; if the people still don't correct themselves, the whole country will suffer catastrophically."

According to the reports from official media in China, we have found that the more recklessly a place persecutes Falun Gong, the more disasters occurred there and the more suffering the local people had to endure. In the past two years, natural disasters have happened one after another in China. The Chinese people's ancestors respected and revered the Gods, but today's people only believe in themselves. They think that they can obtain anything by grabbing, and consider it foolish to be a good person and be considerate to others. Under the influence of this notion, evil people consider looting and grabbing Dafa practitioners' property as good opportunities to become rich, and brutally persecuting Falun Gong as good opportunities to be promoted. This is the true reason why the Heavens are punishing China with disasters

Since Jiang Zemin's criminal group started their crackdown on Falun Gong, natural disasters have occurred in China one after another to warn the people. This article summarizes some of them.

Please take a look at the droughts that occurred in 2001 in China (All the materials are from official Chinese news agencies.):

This year's drought is more serious than last year, over 300 million mu (a Chinese unit of area), or 19.7 million acres of farmland are suffering from drought.

According to statistical reports, due to the ongoing drought in the north and southwest of China, the total farmland suffering from drought in the whole country has reached 309 million mu.

In the center and southern parts of the northeast, north, Huanghui, eastern part of the northwest, Sichuang province, Yunan province, the rainfall is reduced 30% to 90%.

At present, the situation in the whole country is deteriorating.

It has been said, "Ever since 1990, the duration of this year's drought is the longest, and its influence is the most extensive."

According to the statistic report, over 20 million hectares, or 50 million acres of farmland in the whole country are suffering from drought, About 16 million people as well as 12 million cattle face severe water shortages. Water levels in the reservoirs in the north and northeast have dropped 46%; 220,000 hectares of land will have no harvests this summer.

Liaoning Province

Shenyan City: This is the worst drought since 1904. At the same time, disasters related to wind, diseases, harmful insects, farm chemicals and fertilizers, grasses, and pollution, have occurred one after another. In April 2001, the Laoha River completely dried up, which has never happen in history.

The above information is only part of the official report from China. Due to limits of time and space, we cannot put all the record here. We believe that as time goes by you will read more and more disaster reports from various sources. Because the persecution of Falun Gong has lasted for two years, many crimes have been committed, and it is not allowed for there to be no payment for them.

It is better to believe in the will of Heaven, not human desire; it is better to be a good person, not a brutal officer. In the case of Falun Gong, treating it indifferently or cursing and mistreating it are the last things in the world one should do. Otherwise, when retributions come, it will be too late for regrets.
