Different Outcomes from Righteous Thoughts and Varying Mentalities

Strange weather around 610 Highway surrounding Houston

In the morning of Jiang's arrival in Houston, rain and wind prevailed around the Inter-Continental Hotel and surrounding areas near Highway 610 around the city, but outside the range of Highway 610 there was not a single drop of rain, although the sky was also dark.

Persist in righteous thoughts; one righteous thought will subdue a hundred evils

On October 24, we went to a spot near the Inter-Continental Hotel to send forth righteous thoughts. The "welcome Jiang" group held up banners and shouted loudly along the shoulder of Highway 610. They pushed Falun Gong practitioners away. I erected my palm and concentrated on sending forth righteous thoughts.

Soon, I felt a piece of something scraping my face hard. I opened my eyes and saw a welcoming group member deliberately tilting his flag backwards so it would scrape my face. I didn't say anything and moved to the left and continued to concentrate on sending forth righteous thoughts. A while later, he shifted the flag to his left shoulder and continued to scrape my face. I felt pity for him.

Then I saw a Western practitioner sitting on the ground, sending forth righteous thoughts. I joined him. About an hour later we opened our eyes and saw the first row of the "welcome" group had thrown their flags on ground and run away. The rain had stopped. The sun came out. I looked around me and saw all practitioners in this area sitting down and sending forth righteous thoughts. We didn't say a word. When we finished sending forth righteous thoughts, all of the "welcome" group members took down their banners.

I remembered Master's words, "After the evil factors that were manipulating human beings were eliminated in the course of our sending righteous thoughts, only then did the world's people fundamentally become clearheaded." (Touring North America to Teach the Fa) Afterwards, through sharing experiences with fellow practitioners, I realized that the evil manipulating humans is trying to make us fail to keep our xinxing and develop a fighting mentality and other ordinary human mentalities. Driven by these attachments, we would bring out the demon nature in everything we do, and the evil would use it to replenish its energy. If we keep our xinxing level high, then one right mind will subdue a hundred evils, and the evil would become weaker and weaker.

The evil would use human notions

At this time, when we saw that the sun had come out and the greeting teams' flags went down, we became happy and began eating. After that we did one hour of exercises and did not send forth righteous thoughts.

Suddenly, a "welcome" group coordinator stood up and shouted, and the whole group again held up their banners, even twice as high as the first time.

Before Jiang's arrival, pouring rain came down and we concentrated to send forth righteous thoughts. Two hours later, the rain stopped and a beautiful rainbow hung in the sky. We grew happy and began resting and talking, and then the rain returned.

One day prior to Jiang's arrival, when we held a candlelight vigil outside the Inter-Continental Hotel and sent forth righteous thoughts, the sky was clear. When we loosened up and began talking, huge dark clouds appeared right above the hotel and covered up half the sky.

That was indeed a big lesson. We shall not forget to send forth righteous thoughts at any time and never slack off.

"The best way to deal with this situation is for Dafa disciples to walk their paths righteously, to try their best not to let the evil or the old forces take advantage of their gaps, and to solidify their righteous thoughts. The old forces don't dare to oppose our clarifying the truth or saving sentient beings. The key is to not let them take advantage of the gaps in your state of mind when you do things."
