During a hearing on July 19, 2002, Dafa practitioners, Zhu Guangzhen, Yu Meixiu and Wang Jian confronted the court on its improper verdict. A month later, on August 20, 2002, seven other Dafa practitioners, including Zuo Qixiang, Zhang Jin and Zhao Gang were summoned to the court. Again their dignified behavior left the magistrate dumbfounded.

As Dafa practitioners were not allowed into the courtroom, about twenty of them waited behind the erected barricades at the entrance to the courtroom while the hearing was in progress. They continually sent forth righteous thoughts throughout this period. A few of them took the opportunity to clarify the truth to the officers on guard, while the others broadcast Dafa music on speakers to give moral support to the detainees who were being summoned into the courtroom.

One Dafa practitioner stood right in front of the entrance to the courtroom. As the Dafa detainees were summoned to the courtroom, she recited the verses loudly to remind them of the proper use of righteous thoughts. Later she said, "The evil force has become extremely weak. When I sent forth righteous thoughts, that most vicious police officer who had tried to stop us from taking photographs and broadcasting Dafa music was entranced as if spellbound. When I told him to stay still, he immediately became quiet, sat down on a bench in front of me and listened to me clarifying the truth. He remained sitting and smiling for quite a long time."

Shortly afterwards, a group of police officers came to the court house and tried to detain the abovementioned female practitioner. As they could not find her, they took the photographer back to their office instead. Our photographer faced them with dignity and without fear. She clarified the truth to them as well. Later, by using righteous thoughts again, she walked out of the police station right under the watch of four police officers and two sentries on guard.
