On March 20th 2003, the guards at Daxing Forced Labor Camp in Beijing beat a 29-year-old medical school graduate student, Dong Cuifang, to death. Until the last moment of her life, she still firmly believed in the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.

Dong Cuifang was born in an average farming family on North St. of Xinan County, Gaocheng City, Hebei Province in 1974. She had always been a good student and was regarded as a kind and good person by friends and family. In 1995 she began the practice of Falun Dafa, from which she benefited both physically and spiritually. She introduced Dafa to all her friends and family. In two years, many people came to learn about and begin the practice through her. She also organized multiple practice sites and led many people to learn the benefits of Falun Dafa cultivation.

Between 1997 and 1998, after Cuifang graduated from college, she started working at a medical school in Beijing. Cuifang continuously demanded herself to live up to the standards of Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance. With the wisdom obtained from Dafa, she was able to receive her master's degree very quickly.

In 1999, to protest Jiang's persecution, many practitioners went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa. Cuifang and many others went to Zhongnanhai and Tiananmen Square. She was arrested, beaten and detained by the police many times. Her firm belief in Dafa, however, never wavered.

Due to the Jiang regimes "implication policy," (In ancient Chinese feudal society, there was an "implication law," which meant that if one person violated the law, all of his family members and friends would be punished. The punishment ranged from exile to the execution of entire families.) since Cuifang was arrested multiple times while appealing for Dafa, her supervisors at work were forced to be involved. Some people blamed her and held grudges against her. In order to keep them from being implicated, Cuifang resigned from her position. She then immersed herself in Fa-rectification work.

In 2001 Cuifang was forced to leave her hometown because of harassment from the police. She went to Beijing alone. With help from fellow practitioners, she rented a place in a Beijing suburb. She lived there with other practitioners who had also been forced out from their homes. Cuifang went to Tiananmen Square to clarify the truth and to display banners many times. With righteous thoughts, she was able to come and go in dignity, openly and safely.

In the spring of 2002, people deceived by Jiang's propaganda tipped off the police and Cuifang was arrested while handing out truth-clarifying materials. She was sent to a forced labor camp where she and other practitioners protested through hunger strike. Although Cuifang was enduring many sufferings, she still tried to clarify the truth to the officers at the labor camp with great compassion, yet many officers refused to listen. They attempted to force her to write a statement giving up the practice, so Cuifang wrote: "I Promise not to turn against Dafa, never turn against Master, and always believe in Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. Falun Dafa is good!" The police were furious and began jumping up and down and cursing; however Cuifang faced them calmly with a smile on her face.

On March 20th 2003, police beat the 29-year-old Dong Cuifang to death in Daxing Forced Labor Camp in Beijing. Her body was covered with bloody bruises and wounds. Her arms and legs were swollen, her flesh was torn away from her bones in places. Until the last moment of her life, her belief did not waver a bit.

Right after Cuifang passed away, a violent windstorm with thick black clouds swept through Beijing and its neighboring areas. There was also a strange shower accompanying the windstorm. This atrocity committed at Daxing Forced Labor Camp had disturbed heaven and earth, and heaven and earth wept for Cuifang. Although the eight-year course of Cuifang's cultivation is a relatively short period of time, the glory she achieved is everlasting. Cuifang has gone from this life. She walked a difficult path with dignity, and she held her head up high in the face of evil. Her path was solemn and grand.
