Facts of the Persecution

At Wanjia Labor Camp there are about 300 Falun Gong practitioners that are illegally detained. All the newly arrested Falun Gong practitioners are forced to attend the "training team" and to write a "Statement to Denounce Falun Gong." They are forced to squat and beaten on the back of their hands. If they refuse to write the statement, they would be hung up with their limbs stretched in different directions. Some Falun Gong practitioners lost consciousness when they were hung this way. If they still refuse to write they are forced to sit on a metal chair or squat day and night.

News and Activities from around the World

On June 21 thousands of Falun Gong practitioners held various activities in Chicago in support of the lawsuit against Jiang. The lawsuit has drawn attention from major media in the US. The Chicago Tribune reported on June 23 that in the following weeks the judge of the Chicago Federal Court would decide whether to accept the lawsuit. In 1995 nearly 10,000 Philippinos won a lawsuit against Ferdinand Marcos, the former leader of the Philippines. Plaintiff's attorney Terri Marsh said that Falun Gong practitioners listed at least 5 allegations, and heads of state do not enjoy immunity for genocide and torture.

On June 27, Mr. Wu Xilin, chairman of the Department of Politics of the U.S. Association in Taiwan, and Mr. Mi Zhisen, vice chairman of the Administration, met with Falun Gong practitioners in Taiwan. Falun Gong practitioners asked the U.S. Association in Taiwan to pass a letter to President Bush, expressing the deep concerns that Falun Gong practitioners on the other side of the world have towards the lawsuit in the U.S. against Jiang, the former leader of China.

Voices Against the Implementation of Article 23 from Various Professions

The above organizations will also hold a large-scale demonstration at the end of the week. They will also collect signatures at large Chinese markets to coordinate with the appeal in Hong Kong.

Always Keep Righteous Thoughts, Prison Cannot Keep You Locked Up. As I stepped out to validate Dafa, I was often arrested and locked up. I was also brutally tortured. Each time, I walked out righteously with Master' help. One night at around 11:00 p.m. in May 2003, several policemen found the place we rented and kidnapped me. I refused to answer any of their questions. I recited the Fa and was very calm. I continuously sent forth righteous thoughts and thought that I would leave whenever there was a chance. Soon the security guards fell asleep. I asked Master to help me. I walked toward the gate and passed the security guard beside me. Another security guard outside sat up and looked in the other direction. I walked directly toward the gate. I got into a taxi and rejoined the current of Fa rectification.

It's known that one of the Hong Kong underground societies established an office in the Chinatown area in New York, and Lai is said to be one of the people in charge of the office.
