1. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Yan holds 180-Day Hunger Strike at Xingtai Detention Center
Mr. Wang Yan has been on hunger strike for 183 days at Xingtai Detention Center. After about 70 days on hunger strike, uniformed guard Liu Chaoliang beat his face after getting drunk. Wang lost consciousness immediately. A tube that had been inserted into his stomach for forced-feeding was displaced, and blood flowed out all over the ground. Even the other guards who witnessed this event thought this was too much. Mr. Wang's wife has also been on hunger strike protesting the persecution.

2. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xuan Zhaoru Suffers Mental Collapse Due to Inhumane Torture after Being Sent to Forced Labor Camp for Accessing Falun Dafa Web Site
Yushu City Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Xuan Zhaoru was unlawfully arrested and sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor for accessing the minghui.org website at an Internet café. After she was sent to the brainwashing unit at Unit No. 1 in Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province, a uniformed guard slapped her in the face more than 100 times. She lost consciousness, and some of her teeth fell out.
3. [Jilin Province] Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp Refuses to Release Mr. Zhang Jinguang at the End of His Two-Year Term
Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Jinguang is from Liangjiashan Township in Shulan City, Jilin Province. He went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa before New Year's Day in 2002, and was arrested and unlawfully sentenced to two years of forced labor. On January 8, 2004, his term ended, but authorities refused to release him because he was steadfast in his belief in "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance." One month later, his disabled wife and his daughter came to visit him at the forced labor camp and saw that his teeth were missing as a result of beatings he received in the labor camp. There was also a scar from a deep cut on his forehead. Labor camp authorities told Zhang's wife that his term had been extended for six months, after which he would be released. Eight months have gone by, but Mr. Zhang remains in the labor camp. Life is very hard for his disabled wife, who cannot work to support the family, and his daughter, who is in middle school.
4. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner He Yong Arrested, His Home Ransacked
He Yong , a Falun Dafa practitioner from Yibin, Sichuan Province, was arrested on October 17, 2004. The police also ransacked Yi's home and confiscated Falun Dafa books and pamphlets.
5. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Bai Zongde and Du Xuejun at Qianxi No. 1 Middle School Unlawfully Detained
Falun Dafa practitioner Bai Zongde, a teacher at Qianxi No. 1 Middle School in Tangshan City, was unlawfully detained by Qianxi County Police Department after some students' parents who are unaware of the truth of the persecution reported to the authorities that Bai was raising the students' awareness about Falun Dafa in the classroom. Another Falun Dafa practitioner, Du Xuejun, was also unlawfully detained by staff from the Qianxi County Police Department. Du's home was ransacked.

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Local Police Officers Arrest Ms. Qu Ping
Ms. Qu Ping, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Liangjiadian in the Jinzhou District of Dalian City, Liaoning Province, was arrested by officers from the local police station. She is being held at the Dalian City Police Department and is to be sent to Shenyang on October 18.

7. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Three Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested for Raising Public Awareness about Falun Dafa at a Farmer's Market
Around 11:00 a.m. on October 12, three female Falun Dafa practitioners, Ms. Zhang Yifen, 38, Zhang Yijing, 35, and Wang Qiulian, 42, went to a small farmer's market in Renhe Town to distribute Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. Local residents who were not aware of the truth of the persecution alerted the Renhe Police Station. The three practitioners were subsequently arrested and forcibly taken to Rongcheng City Detention Center that afternoon.
The police ransacked the practitioners' homes and confiscated many items. Police climbed over the walls and broke into the homes of Ms. Zhang Yifen and Ms. Zhang Yijing. They pocketed valuables without following any legal procedures.
8. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Licheng District Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Chen Xinnian Arrested
Ms. Chen Xinnian, who is in her fifties, lives at Hongyuan Residential Compound in Honglou Town, Licheng District, Jinan City. After being arrested on September 20, 2004 by Dongfeng Police Station for distributing truth-clarifying materials, she was sent to the Liuchangshan Detention Center where she is being brutalized by staff from the Licheng Branch Police Department.

9. [Heilongjiang Province] Two Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested
Two Falun Dafa practitioners from Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province were arrested in a fellow practitioner's home on October 16, 2004. One practitioner's name is Wang Xiaohong, while the other's name is not available.
10. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Five Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested
After the arrest of Falun Dafa practitioner Chen Haidong from the Water and Electric Power School in Minayang, on October 17, 2004, at least five more Falun Dafa practitioners have been arrested for distributing truth-clarifying materials. The five practitioners arrested include Mr. Zhou, an elderly practitioner from Shiyipu in Mianyang, arrested in Santai County in Mianyang, Wang Yuan, a teacher at a physics school near Mianyang City Railroad Station, and a woman practitioner whose name is not known. The other two practitioners were arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials in Yanting County, Mianyang. They are Tang Shuqing, and a woman practitioner whose name is unknown. Both practitioners' homes have been ransacked.

Falun Dafa practitioner Wang Zhong, from Kuancheng County, Chengde City, was arrested for raising public awareness about Falun Dafa. The police inhumanely tortured Wang in order to extract information about other Faun Dafa practitioners. Wang resolutely refused to cooperate with the brutal police. Wang has been on hunger strike for six days and is in critical condition. The "610 Office" officials planned to send Wang to Chengde Brainwashing Unit on the morning of October 20 to escalate the persecution against him.

12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Guixiang and Wu Jie Arrested by Nanguan Branch Police Department
On the evening of October 16, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Yang Guixiang and Wu Jie were arrested by officials from the Minkang Police Station while posting self-adhesive truth-clarifying signs in the Children's Park. Officers from the police station, a subsidiary of Nanguan Branch Police Department, have sent the two practitioners to Shuangyang No. 3 Detention Center, where they are being abused.
13. [Hengshui City, Hubei Province] Several Falun Dafa Practitioners in Raoyang County Arrested
Around 10:00 p.m. on October 10, 2004, Li Hongshui, head of the Raoyang Police Department, coordinating with the Hengshui City "610 Office" and the Raoyang County "610 Office," called out the crowd control unit and eleven police vehicles from the township police station, and arrested several Falun Dafa practitioners without following any legal procedures. The practitioners' homes were also ransacked. He Laiwang, from Yinglin Village in Liuchu Township, Ms. Ma Peifang, from Gucheng Village in Chengguan Township, and Song Jingxian, from Tongyue Township, were unlawfully taken into custody. They are being held at either the police department or police stations.
The officers even climbed over the wall and smashed open the door when they arrested Mr. He Jiangang at Yinglin Village in Liuchu Township. He was wearing shorts and was dragged over 40 meters (about 44 yards). When neighbors showed up, Mr. He managed to escape with righteous thoughts in mind. However, his wife, Song Ran, his 73-year-old father, He Cengce, and one of his daughters, He Cuiyu, were taken away. They are being held at the detention center of Raoyang County Police Department. No visits have been granted. Mr. He's elder daughter and 8-year-old son have been left alone at home.
14. [You County, Province] Six Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested, One Forced to Leave Town and Go into Exile
Around August 16, 2004, Mr. Liu You'an, Ms. Zeng Xuemei, and Mr. Su Niansong were arrested by staff from the Zhuzhou City and You County Police Departments on charges that they posted flyers promoting Falun Dafa. The three practitioners have been unlawfully sentenced to forced labor.
Mr. Liu You'an, who is about 50 years old, lives at Songjiazhou Village in Shangyunqiao Town, You County. His telephone number is 86-733-4226933.
Ms. Zeng Xuemei, who is about 36 years old, lives at Wanguqiao Village in Shangyunqiao Town, You County. She has two school-age daughters and her family can barely make ends meet.
Mr. Su Niansong, who is about 50 years old, lives on Fuliang Road in You County. Su is an employee of the county's No. 2 People's Hospital.
After the October 1st National Day holiday, three other practitioners were arrested after police received reports that they were raising public awareness about Falun Dafa. One of the three practitioners arrested was Ms. Wu Xueyi, who is about 50 years of age. No information is available about the other two practitioners. All three of them are being unlawfully held at the detention center of the You County Police Department.

15. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Wang Yongmei Unlawfully Arrested
At around 4:00 a.m. on October 12, 2004, Wang Yongmei was spotted by the village security director while distributing truth-clarifying materials at Lijiawa Village in Yishui Town, Yishui County, Shandong Province. Wang, who lives in the same village, is being held in Yishui County Detention Center.
16. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Police Arrest Numerous Falun Dafa Practitioners
On the morning of October 15, 2004, Ms. Bai Yuxiu in Anshan City, Liaoning Province was taken to Masanjia No. 2 Women's Forced Labor Camp by three Shennan police officers. She was unlawfully sentenced to one year of forced labor.
On October 1, Ms. Huang Sumei, from Anshan City, Liaoning Province, was arrested by officers from the Shuguang Police Station after they received reports that she was distributing truth-clarifying materials. The police also ransacked her home.
17. [Tianjin] Wuqing District Falun Dafa Practitioner Sha Litian Arrested
In mid-October 2004, Sha Litian, from the Wuqing District of Tianjin, was arrested while raising public awareness about Falun Dafa in Siyisi Township, Wuqing District. Sha is being unlawfully held at Wuqing District Detention Center.
18. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Several Falun Dafa Practitioners Unlawfully Arrested
Ms. Zhang Xiuli and Ms. Ren Guifang live at Wayao Village in Nanbajia Township, Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province. Officers from the Yaozhan Police Station in Nanbajia Township unlawfully arrested them on September 3, 2004 and ransacked their homes. The police confiscated Falun Dafa books and materials.
On October 14, 2004, Qingyuan County police arrested Ren Zhenrong at Ren's home at Douhutun Village in Qingyuan County. Ren was directly taken to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City, Liaoning Province.
On October 14, 2004, Qingyuan County police arrested Liu Yu at Liu's home in Nanshancheng Township, Qingyuan County. Liu was directly taken to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City, Liaoning Province.
19. [Beijing] Xuanwu District Police Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioner Li Jian and Ransack Li's Home
Li Jian lives at the family quarters of the Huaneng Group, at Taipinghu on Xidajie Avenue, near Deshengmen, Beijing. Li works at the Beijing Huaneng Group located in the Baizhifang area of Beijing. Before October 1, Xuanwu District police unlawfully ransacked Li's home and took Li into custody.
20. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Jia Fenglin from Xinkai Township in Dawa County Abducted and Taken to Fushun Brainwashing Center
On the morning of October 14, 2004, Jia Fenglin, who lives in Yulou Village, Xinkai Township, Dawa County, Panjin City was abducted. The Dawa County "610 Office," Xinkai Police Station, and the village's Party secretary, joint security director, and Women's Affairs Director took part in the abduction.
21. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guan Liying Tortured at Shenyang Women's Prison
Ms. Guan Liying from Panjin City is being held at the Shenyang Women's Prison, where she is being tortured. She has been on hunger strike for three months. Prison authorities have denied her family any visits.
22. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. He Guangzhen Unlawfully Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison
Ms. He Guangzhen, 50, lives at No. 6 Commune in Bingling Village, Beiwai Township, Guanghan City, Sichuan Province. From the time the persecution began, on July 20, 1999, to 2002, police ransacked Ms. He's home numerous times. They coerced her to write statements promising to give up practicing Falun Gong. Ms. He was also summoned to the township government and police station, and forced to slander Falun Dafa and its founder.
Between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on September 17, 2002, a group of officers convinced Ms. He's family to open the door, and then rushed into the room. Ms. He was awakened and taken away. She remained in the detention center until June 2003, when she was accused of posting over 200 Falun Dafa banners. Without an open trial, sentencing, or notification to her family, the authorities sentenced this Falun Dafa practitioner to eight years of forced labor and sent her to Longquan Forced Labor Camp.
23. [Anshun City, Guizhou Province] Police Arrest Numerous Falun Dafa Practitioners
On September 28 or 29, 2004, Anshun City state security officers arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Tang Ling, who is employed by the Liyang Company, an aircraft engine manufacturer in Pingba County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province.
Police also arrested other Falun Dafa practitioners working for the Liyang Company, including Mr. Liu and his son, Ms. Qu, another unnamed woman practitioner, and Dr. Yao Junjing (an engineer). Subsequently officers from the Anshun state security unit and police department went to the Baiyun District of Guiyang City and arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Ruping.
24. [Shandong Province] Ms. Kong Fanlian at General Factory of Engineering and Machinery in Shengli Oil Fields Unlawfully Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor
Ms. Kong Fanlian is a Falun Dafa practitioner at the General Factory of Engineering and Machinery in the Shengli Oil Fields. Not long ago, she was taken to the Wangcun Brainwashing Center where she was brutally treated and released afterwards. Her elderly mother suffers from a serious illness and needs her care. Nevertheless, recently she was secretly arrested again and sentenced to three years of forced labor.
25. [Yilong, Sichuan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Li Congshu Brutally Beaten Prior to October 1st National Day
Before the October 1 National Day Holiday, Falun Dafa practitioner Li Congshu, who is over 70 years old, was taken to the police department, where Li was reportedly cruelly beaten. It was reported that the police have notified Li's family to bring cash in exchange for Li's release. In 2002, practitioner Li was brutally beaten while in police custody, suffered injuries all over his body, and was not released until he was throwing up blood and on the verge of death.
26. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Yin Xiangyang at Xinjia Street Administration Office Arrested by Police
In the morning of October 18, 2004, a group of officers from Longkou City Police Department in Shandong Province took Falun Dafa practitioner Yin Xiangyang, who was working at a construction site, into custody.
27. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Daqing Police Shoot and Blow Out Tires While Arresting Falun Dafa Practitioners
On September 27, 2004, Daqing Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Cao Junmei and Liu Guozhi drove to the Sanzhan area of Zhaoyuan County to distribute truth-clarifying materials. As they drove past Xujiangtun, officers from Sanzhan Police Station caught up with them upon having received reports about their activities. The officers fired five shots and blew up the tires of the practitioners' vehicle. Cao and Liu were arrested and their car was impounded. The two practitioners are being held at Zhaoyuan County Detention Center.

28. [Shanghai] Luwan District "610 Office" Unlawfully Detains Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Li Limao
Ms. Li Limao lives on Huaihaizhong Road in the Luwan District of Shanghai. Staff from the Luwan District "610 Office" arrested her prior to the October 1 National Day holiday. Four years ago, the same office arrested her and attempted to sentence her to three years of forced labor, but she was rejected by the labor camp authorities because she failed the physical examination (She had suffered cancer before starting to practice Falun Dafa). However, officials from the "610 Office" unlawfully sent her to the Shanghai Women's Prison for a three and a half year prison term. She was released earlier this year at the end of the term. She has since remained under constant surveillance and continued to be harassed until her recent arrest.
29. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Rong, 65, on Hunger Strike after Being Arrested
Ms. Li Rong, 65, is a former employee of the Guangzhou Nanyou Company who lives in the Zhuhai District of Guangzhou City. She was arrested for distributing Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials. In order to protest her arrest, she has stayed on a hunger strike.
30. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Song Bing Unlawfully Sentenced to Fourteen Years in Prison
Ms. Song Bing, 31, is a university graduate in Shulan City. On November 15, 2003, she was unlawfully arrested by officers from the Shulan City Police Department. Song was brutally tortured while being interrogated at the Shulan City Police Department. The officers also force-fed her pepper water. She was subsequently sentenced to fourteen years in prison and taken to Heizuizi Women's Prison in Jilin Province. After extreme mistreatment, Song started to suffer from tuberculosis, and prison authorities refused to admit her. She was thus taken back to the Shulan City Detention Center. After rescue efforts from Falun Dafa practitioners in China and overseas as well as from family and relatives, she has recently returned home.
31. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Longhu District Falun Dafa Practitioners Ping Xin and Bu Yangdong Arrested and Their Homes Ransacked
The Shantou City "610 Office" has arrested, for no reason, Longhu District Falun Dafa practitioners Ping Xin and Bu Yangdong at their homes on October 12 and October 15 respectively.
32. [Beijing] Qin Huan Unlawfully Arrested by Xicheng District State Security Unit
Recently, officials from the Xicheng District State Security Unit in Beijing arrested Qin Huan. Qin has been held and brutally tortured at the Beijing City No. 2 Detention Center for days. Qin's fate is unknown.
33. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Several Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested
On September 28, 2004, Jiaohe City police arrested five Falun Dafa practitioners in Songjiang Town, and ransacked their homes. Ms. Zhou Jun'e, Mr. Zhang Shu, and Li Qingru were among those arrested. So far a total of thirteen Falun Dafa practitioners in the Jiaohe area have been arrested.
