In A Few Words: Don't Get Attached to the Past

August 20, 2004 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner

(Clearwisdom.net)

When I was working on making and filing truth-clarification materials, I met a fellow practitioner. Before practicing Falun Gong, he had lived a bitter past. He said that it was all because of his father. When he talked about his past, I could feel his strong anger and complaints against his father. I also found that some other practitioners have similar problems.

In fact, there are too many complicated predestined relationships among people nowadays.

Everything happened to allow "...people to ultimately understand this Fa, to cultivate by this Fa, to understand that they should cultivate, and to become Dafa disciples..." (From Teacher's article Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Washington DC Fa Conference)

We are the Falun Dafa disciples who are here to help Teacher do Fa-rectification. How can we allow ourselves to hold so tightly onto these attachments?

"Put down everyday people's attachments
Already a god when obtaining the Fa."

(From Teacher's Poem "Saving All Sentient Beings")

We are really fortunate to have attained the Fa [great law, universal principle]. Yet how many attachments have we let go of?
