Primary School Students Teach Officials from the City Education Committee a Good Lesson

August 22, 2004 |   By a Dafa practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a primary school teacher and I teach over forty students.

Back in March of 2004, the City Education Bureau issued an order that all primary school students who are fourth grade and above and all secondary school students must pay two yuan to buy a brochure that slanders Falun Gong. I went to talk to the people in charge of this and clarified the facts to them. I also talked to students' parents and persuaded them not to pay the money to buy something that is harmful to their children.

On the second day, an official from my school told me that some parents reported that I taught students Falun Gong. After school, I found one of those parents and tried to clarify the facts to him. He appeared to be very receptive to what I had to say. However, after that he organized a few other parents to call the City Education Committee and to report me. Feeling the pressure from senior Education Committee members, the officials in our school came to "educate" me again.

On the fourth day, a few officials were dispatched both from the City Education Committee and from the local township. They asked me if I taught students Falun Gong. I told them, "as a Falun Gong practitioner, I follow the teachings of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. What I teach is certainly full of the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. For example, when I teach the word Zheng (1), I teach students to rectify anything that is not right and to become righteous people," I answered.

They then asked, "What is your purpose of teaching students about Falun Gong and why do you teach them to sing the songs of Falun Gong?"

"Children are innocent. I just want them to keep their innocence," I answered.

They retorted, "Don't you know that we're here to help you to convert from Falun Gong?"

"Convert?" I said, "What conversion? What do you want to convert me to? I simply cultivate myself by following the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."

In despair, the officials from the City Education Committee responded, "It looks like you don't have any idea what ¡®conversion' is. Let's go to your classroom to check it out." While they walked into the classroom, I began sending forth righteous thoughts outside.

Facing the whole classroom of students, the officials from the City Education Committee told the students that they wanted to ask a few questions. "Is your teacher nice to you all?"

"Of course he is nice to us!" They all answered.

"Can you recite Buddha's Law?" he continued to ask.

"Yes," the students answered in chorus.

They randomly picked one child to recite. "Nothing is as profound as BUDDHA LAW..." the child recited very fluently. After two minutes of recitation, the officials stopped him in mid sentence. "You can stop there, thank you." He continued his line of questioning. "Can you children sing?"

"Yes," the children answered in chorus once again.

"Then we'd like to hear a song." Soon, the children started to sing a song composed by a Falun Dafa practitioner. The pure sound of singing by the children astonished the officials, who quickly retreated from the classroom while saying "Good" and holding the gesture of Heshi (2).
