(Clearwisdom.net) December in the southern hemisphere is right in the middle of the hot summer. On the morning of December 16, 2005, a dozen practitioners from Canberra went to the Royal Thai Embassy in Australia, in the blazing sunshine, to protest the misplaced incidents against Falun Gong that took place on December 10, 14 and 15 in Thailand.

On December 10, International Human Rights Day, under instigation from the Chinese Embassy, the Thai police treated Falun Gong practitioners violently while practitioners were peacefully protesting on the sidewalk opposite the Chinese Embassy.

On December 14, three practitioners were arrested. Two of the three were beaten before the arrest. At the time of this incident the practitioners were peacefully distributing Falun Gong truth clarification materials in the tourist city of Pattaya. They were released the same night.

On December 15, eight practitioners were arrested in front of the Chinese Embassy by the Thai police. One of them was released, while the other seven are still detained in the Immigration detention center. They have been on hunger strikes to protest the illegal detention.

During the protest, practitioners clarified the truth to some officials from the Embassy, and explained the reasons why they were there. Afterwards, the Deputy Ambassador of Thailand to Australia received a letter and related materials from the practitioners (including a report on the December 10 incident in Thailand, a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and a "Brief Introduction to the History of the Chinese Communist Regime Killing People," as well as other materials).

Practitioners from Canberra protest against the Thai government's violation of the human rights of Falun Gong practitioners at the behest of the Chinese Communist regime

In the letter to the Ambassador, a practitioner stated that they hoped Thailand would not succumb further to the intimidation and pressure from the Chinese Communist Regime's advocation of the persecution against Falun Gong. They also asked the Thai government to review their policy towards Falun Gong, and not to follow the Chinese Communist Regime to violate human rights.
