(Clearwisdom.net) On December 19, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners from Ottawa, the capital of Canada, presented a letter to Argentina's Embassy, requesting to have a meeting with the Ambassador about the recent situation in which Argentine police did not carry out their duty to stop hired thugs from assaulting Falun Gong practitioners. Ruffians harassed practitioners and stole their banners and truth-clarification materials during their peaceful protest on the occasion of Luo Gan's visit.

On December 13, Luo Gan, a member of the Chinese Politburo and one of the people most responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong in China, visited Argentina. On that day, the local Falun Dafa Association sued Luo in Argentina's Federal Court for genocide and torture. The next day, Falun Gong practitioners were beaten outside of the National Congress building by a gang of Chinese thugs hired by the Chinese Embassy. The police on site didn't stop the assailants and sources said the policemen received orders from high levels not to stop them.

The letter addressed to the Argentinean Ambassador stated that Luo Gan is in charge of the 610 Office, an illegal organization that is responsible for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. In the past six years, the Chinese Communist Party has used prison, torture, extortion, and murder to persecute the peaceful Falun Gong practitioners. Luo Gan was sued for genocide in Argentina the day before his visit there.

On December 14, when Falun Gong practitioners were protesting in front of the National Congress building against the Chinese Communist delegation led by Luo Gan, they were assaulted by thugs hired by the Chinese Embassy. Their banners and truth-clarification materials were stolen.

In the letter, the Falun Dafa Association of Canada stated that when other nations speak up to condemn the persecution, they sincerely hope that the Argentinean government will choose the side of righteousness and not help the Chinese Communist regime to violate people's human rights. The practitioners asked the Argentinean government to investigate the incident and take action to prevent such incidents from happening again.
