Facts of the Persecution

1. Two Female Dafa Practitioners from Pixian County, Sichuan Province Suffer Brutal Persecution

For refusing to renounce Falun Dafa, two female practitioners living in countryside of Pixian County, Sichuan Province have suffered persecution from Pixian County government officials.

Ms. Zhen Qilan, who is currently 52 years old, lives in the First Section of the Shahe Village of Tangyuan Town of Pixian County, Sichuan Province. Since July 20, 1999, the day that Jiang's regime started its ban of Falun Dafa, Ms. Zhen has been to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Gong. She has since been abducted a total of five times, and has been forced to wear handcuffs and fetters. The police and officials also tortured her using iron-hook branding, punching and kicking and slapping her in the face.

In the second case, in April of 2004, policemen and officials forcibly abducted practitioner Ms. Lu Yuanfen to several places, including a detention center in Gucheng Township, other police stations, and the local 610 Office. The policemen and officials tortured Ms. Lu with electric batons, hanging her with handcuffs, and dragging her by her hair and slamming her head against an iron box.

2. Practitioner Li Qiu and His Family Members in Huludao City Appeal to the Court

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Qiu and his family members appealed to the Huludao City Intermediate People's Court against Nanpiao Public Security Sub-bureau, Huangjia Street Police Station, Nanpiao Mining Bureau Attached High School, Nanpiao District Procuratorial Institution, and the Nanpiao District Court. From December 2004 to May 2005, officials from the above-mentioned organizations have used various brutal methods to persecute Mr. Li Qiu. The officials fabricated evidence against Mr. Li , trying every method to put him in jail, depriving him from his right to freedom. The officials broke into Mr. Li's home, illegally searching and confiscating his personal property. Mr. Li and his family members appealed to the court to immediately to withdraw the sentence of 3-years imprisonment, to return all Mr. Li's personal belongings, to investigate the above- mentioned organizations' legal obligations, and to compensate Li Qiu for his physical and psychiatric damages and losses.
