Kindhearted Ms. Li Jinan, Where Are You? (Photo)

May 08, 2006 |

(Clearwisdom.net) This article was published by Kunshan Daily on March 27, 2006 in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province. A kindhearted person from Kunshan City had financially aided a poverty stricken student from Shandong Province for years. But as soon as the student entered college, he lost contact with his benefactor.

Kindhearted Ms. Li, where are you?

Ms. Li had Helped him Financially for More than Ten Years

Honggang was born to a poor farm family in Linshu County of Yimengshan District, Shandong Province. Besides being a farmer, his father owned a tiny business. When Honggang was in second grade in 1993, his father had a severe loss in his business and his mother suffered hyperthyroidism. To cure his mother's illness, his father borrowed money from a lot of people, and could no longer pay for Honggang to attend school. At that time, Honggang heard about the Hope Foundation, which aimed to help the poverty-stricken with schooling, so he registered and looked for financial help. Thus he accepted financial aid from a woman who said her name was Ms. Li, and he exchanged letters with her for more than ten years.

During those years, Ms. Li cared for him in every possible way. She not only aided him financially with tuition fees, but also mailed books and stationery to him. To help Honggang, Ms. Li included a stamp for return mail every time she wrote him. To help him get learning materials that he could not find in Kunshan, she would ask her friend in Beijing to buy those books and mail them to him. In every letter to Honggang she carefully asked him about his studies, wondering if he had any difficulties and encouraged him to study well. She also promised him that she would visit him when he entered college. For Honggang, Ms. Li's ten years of friendship was beneficial and he never forgot her.

Lost Contact after Entering College

Honggang had exchanged letters with Ms. Li until his last year in high school. Because of a busy schedule, he had to stop writing to Ms. Li temporarily with her consent. In the summer of 2003, he was admitted to Tianjin Normal Institute of Engineering. As soon as he received the admission letter, his first thought was to write to Ms. Li and tell her the good news. Unexpectedly, his letter was returned to him by the Kunshan Post Office stamped with "No Addressee Found." Honggang wondered why.

He only had her mailing address. He had never met her in person. From the letters he guessed that Ms. Li was around 50 years old and worked for the Kunshan government. He called "114," the inquiry number of Kunshan City, trying to find Ms. Li's phone number, but failed. He entered college with deep regret. During college, he was able to locate his friends in Kunshan through the Internet, and even asked one of his friends working in the Kunshan Police Department to inquire about Ms. Li, but still could not find her.

Asking This Newspaper to Help Him Find the Kindhearted Person

Honggang found this newspaper through the Internet. He told our reporter that for more than two years, he had been thinking about Ms. Li and wanted to tell her about his current situation. "I have been conducting myself strictly following Ms. Li's requirements. As soon as I entered college, I was elected as the class monitor. Now I'm the student president of the Art Department. I have also won several scholarships. All of this is due to Ms. Li's guidance. He said that her previous mailing address was Building 12, Zhujiaku of Kunshan City, and he looks forward to any help from Kunshan residents that will help him find the respectable Ms. Li.

Upon reading the article, I couldn't help crying. I said in my heart, "My child, how could you know? Ms. Li that you're thinking of is suffering. She is suffering the inhumane persecution, and she needs help right now."

The person that Honggang is looking for is called Li Jinan. She worked for the Kunshan City government. She's 51 years old and has a Master's degree. She has been practicing Falun Dafa for nearly ten years and has followed "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," the principles of Falun Dafa. For dozens of years, she has devoted her energy and savings to help those poverty-stricken students but seldom mentioned this to others. No one knows how many students she has helped. I heard from her only occasionally that although a few of them had graduated and landed jobs, some others were still in elementary school. Obviously, Honggang is just one of them.

Such a good person, who has been selflessly contributing to society and others, is suffering from the wicked Chinese Communist Party's persecution for practicing "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and trying to be a good person. In late 2002, Ms. Li Jinan was illegally arrested while meeting with another fellow practitioner, and was illegally sentenced to three and a half years in prison. She was also fired from her job. The wicked persecutors' reasoning was that because she was a government official, she deserved severe punishment, even though everyone in the Kunshan government political judiciary committee and the 610 Office knew that she was a good person, and the only reason for arresting her was because she was persistent in practicing Falun Dafa and following the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" to be a good person. In prison, Li Jinan is steadfast with her solemn and pure belief, and therefore the Kunshan City 610 Office and the Nanjing Prison authorities have refused to allow her family members to see her many times.

Li Jinan will be released on May 9, 2006. However, the 610 Office will likely pick her up from the Nanjing Women's Prison that day and take her to a brainwashing center for further persecution. I hope that kindhearted people will call the related departments and individuals to stop their evil deed.
