Press conference at University of Pittsburgh

The Transplantation Institute at the University of Pittsburgh is among the largest and most authoritative organ transplant organizations in the world. Doctors from around the world have come here for advanced studies, including many doctors from mainland China. After returning to China, most of them become directors or deputy directors of organ transplant centers in big hospitals across the country, and quite a few of the doctors in these hospitals are suspected of participating in harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. On August 18, 2006, the truth clarification car tour from Ohio and Ms. Wang Wenyi (who shouted out protests on the lawn at the White House during Hu Jintao’s visit) arrived in Pittsburgh, in the west of Pennsylvania. Practitioners attach great importance to clarifying the truth to the University of Pittsburgh and its transplantation institute.

Early morning on August 18, local practitioners and practitioners from other areas were divided into three groups. One group went to meet with the media, the second group went to the office of the university president, the university newspaper and the university radio station to clarify the truth. The rest of the practitioners carried truth clarification display boards and distributed leaflets in high traffic areas, particularly near the organ transplant center. At 10:30 a.m. practitioners held a press conference at the University of Pittsburgh to expose the Chinese Communist Party regime’s atrocities of live organ harvesting.

Many learned about the organ harvesting atrocities now underway in China: students, faculty and doctors, nurses and patients from the organ transplant center. Some extra leaflets and invited practitioners to organize seminars for more in-depth discussion. Some doctors sought out practitioners to get materials, and eagerly wanted to know more. Several people asked how they could help. Some doctors from mainland China who came here to study (they may have heard inside stories) shamefully lowered their heads in front of the display boards and dared not to look at them directly.

Clarifying the Truth outside the World Congress of Endourology

Clarify the truth at the World Congress of Endourology (WCE) in Cleveland

On the afternoon of August 18, car tour practitioners joined practitioners from Ohio and Michigan to clarify the truth to medical staff attending the four-day long World Congress of Endourology (WCE) in Cleveland, Ohio.

More than a thousand doctors in the nephropathy field from around the world attended the WCE conference in Cleveland. Many of those attending are surgeons. Many doctors were in tears when thy heard practitioners tell them about the CCP’s live organ harvesting.

Many doctors believe that such atrocious things indeed do happen in China. A doctor said that he had just finished reading a book about Stalin, and learned how the Communist machinery persecutes people. He hopes there is a way to stop the killing. He suggested to call on all doctors in the United States to refuse to do follow-up treatment for patients who have been to China for organ transplants, unless the patients can prove the legal source of the organs. Nobody should participate in such a thing. A French doctor said that he had long learned about this matter. A Chinese friend told him about it. Canadian doctors expressed that they had seen Kilgour’s report in Canada, and they believed very much that the atrocities are happening in China. Some doctors also thanked practitioners and encouraged them to help more people learn about this matter.

Practitioners also clarified the truth to the police who did not know anything about this matter. Two days of peaceful protests allowed the police in Cleveland to gain a deeper understanding of Falun Gong.

Local media passing by stopped to interview the practitioners.
