(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Guo Xiuzhen, about 44 years old, worked in the Fularji District Milk Company in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province. After the persecution started, she was fired from her job. Ms. Guo suffered from heart disease and many other ailments before she practiced Falun Dafa, and could not work normally. After practicing Dafa, she had a healthy and strong body. This was known to everyone around her. Because in May 2002 she distributed Dafa truth-clarification materials, she was illegally arrested by police. Later on, she was sent to the Shuanghe Force Labor Camp in Qiqihar City for three years. Unable to withstand the pressure from the persecution, Ms. Guo’s husband divorced her several years ago. Her mother’s family members also became hostile towards her. Because she firmly believed in Dafa and did not yield to the Chinese Communist Party's efforts at "transformation," she suffered a lot both physically and spiritually. She had a relapse of her old illnesses and died at home in May 2006.

Mr. Hu Shaohui, 74 years old, was a Dafa practitioner from Linyuan District, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. Before he practiced Falun Dafa, he had a serious case of gastritis. He began to cultivate in Dafa in 1997 and his condition became better. After the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, he stopped practicing under the pressure. His condition became worse. After he resumed practicing Falun Dafa again in 2002, his gastric disease was healed. Thereafter he began to firmly practice Dafa. In June or July of 2004, when he clarified the truth to a student at a park, he was seen by police and arrested. One police officer shouted at him, "I will kick you till you die!" The policemen pushed him to the ground and forcefully took him to the local residential committee office. At that time, he was gasping for breath. These people saw his situation was not good, so they ran off. In September 2004, when he clarified the truth at a market, he was reported to the authorities. Before October 1, 2004, the Chief of Linyuan Police Station, Han Bingfa, found Mr. Hu's manager, Li Dianmin ,and asked him to prevent Mr. Hu from practicing Falun Gong and clarifying the truth to people. They also exerted pressure on a leader at his son's company in order to have his son monitor him and keep him from practicing Falun Gong. They also threatened Mr. Hu by threatening to fire his son from his job if he refused to go to a brainwashing session. Under all kinds of pressure, Mr. Hu developed symptoms of cerebral thrombus. He stayed at a hospital for a month, and during that period of time, he was rendered unable to even speak. After he was out of the hospital, because his family members continued to monitor and pressure him, he could not study the Fa, do the exercises or share experiences with fellow practitioners. His condition became worse and he was admitted to the hospital once again. In the meantime, their family members hid his Dafa books from him. Mr. Hu's condition worsened, and he died on July 8, 2006.

Ms. Zhang Suyun was approximately 60 years old. She was a Dafa practitioner from Gongan County, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province. Before she started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, she suffered from neurosis and a gallstone. After she practiced Falun Gong, her gallstone was gone and her neurosis also improved. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, she was compelled to write a guarantee statement that she would not practice any more. Later on, she stepped forward to validate Dafa. In July 2000, the local police station illegally confiscated her family’s property, arrested her, and confiscated her Dafa books. Because nobody was left to look after the elderly and children of the family, the neighbors went to the local police station on her behalf. Eventually she was released, but she was often harassed and threatened. In 2001, her family’s property was confiscated the second time, including her Dafa books. At this time her daughter got sick, so she went to take care of her daughter for nine months. In April 2002, her neurosis recurred and her son-in-law sent her back home. About one week later local police came to harass her again. All of this caused severe mental trauma, and that same afternoon she drowned.

Yang Yumin

Ms. Yang Yumin, 63 years old, was a retired cadre from the Double Retirement Office of Zhangxin Coal Mine in Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province. She lived in the Zhangxin Coal Mine residential quarters. She began to cultivate Falun Dafa around January and February of 1999. Before practicing, she was weak physically and had many diseases. After practicing, her health improved dramatically, and she had a cheerful temperament. She looked after her paralyzed husband carefully for many years and was recognized as a good person by everyone around her. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Ms. Yang went to Beijing to speak out for Falun Dafa. After her return, she was threatened by her company’s management and prohibited from cultivating. In 2000, the Communist Party Secretary Lu Fenglan from the Double Retirement Office of Zhangxin Coal Mine went to her home to compel her to go to a brainwashing center. On March 19, 2002, Ms. Yang suffered from a cerebral hemorrhage and died. Her family members stated that this was the direct result of all of the persecution and pressure she had suffered in the previous years.

Ms. Li Hongfang, in her 60's, was a Dafa practitioner from Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province. In April 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong and was arrested. After she came back, she was illegally detained for 15 days and was fined 10,000 yuan. She died at the end of 2005. Before she died, government officials came to harass her and threaten her, trying to force her to write a guarantee to give up Falun Gong.

Ms. Zhang Wanquan, in her 60's, was a Dafa practitioner from Pengzhou City and a staff member at the Pengzhou Industry and Commerce Bureau. After July 20, 1999, she was often harassed by people from the 610 Office, the local police station, and the company political security section. She suffered both in body and mind from the persecution, and she died on May 3, 2006 .
