Over Two Hundred Relatives and Friends in Daqing City Appeal the Arrest of Mr. Zhu Yanghe

September 08, 2006 |

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Zhu Yanghe is a Falun Dafa practitioner in Taikang County, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. On June 30, 2006, Li Shilin, the 610 Office chief led four other agents to break into Mr. Zhu's home, where he was beaten and arrested. He was then imprisoned in a forced labor camp. To appeal the arrest and persecution, over 200 of Mr. Zhu's relatives and friends filed a lawsuit, charging those responsible for Mr. Zhu's arrest--including Li Shilin--of crimes and demanding the immediate release of Mr. Zhu, the restoration of his reputation, and compensation for his physical and mental damages.

Text of the lawsuit:

Filed by over 200 relatives and friends of Mr. Zhu Yanghe

Reasons for the complaint: This is a complaint against the following persons for their involvement in the illegal arrest, detention, and imprisonment in a forced labor camp of Mr. Zhu Yanghe. The defendants include Tang Huaijun, Secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee of Taikang County, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province; Li Shilin and Jiang Yunsheng, the 610 Office chiefs; Li Xiaoguang, director of the Police Department of Taikang County; Bao Yuzhu and Bai Zhiwen, the associate directors the police department; and police officer Dong Min at Hujietumo Police Station.

Demands:

1. By law, hold the defendants accountable for their involvement in Zhu's case;

2. Compensate the victim and his family for all mental and physical damages; 3. Immediately release Mr. Zhu Yanghe and restore his reputation.

Facts and evidence: Mr. Zhu Yanghe, 47, is a farmer from Aobao Village, Hujietumo Township, Taikang County. At 9:00 a. m., June 30, 2006, four people, led by 610 Office chief Li Shilin, broke into Mr. Zhu's home, rudely searched his house, turned it completely upside down, and confiscated a portrait of the founder of Falun Dafa, four used plastic boxes, a scenic painting with a card of "Falun Dafa is wonderful," and a copy of Minghui Weekly (a weekly magazine from Chinese Clearwisdom). All of these are Mr. Zhu's personal property. Li personally beat Mr. Zhu in front of Mr. Zhu's family members and arrested him without finding any illegal item.

As a result of the beating and arrest, Mr. Zhu's wife became sick, while their two daughters kept crying. When Mr. Zhu's family members tried to visit him, the 610 authorities stopped them. Two weeks later, when his family learned that he had been transferred to Daqing Detention Center, they again went to visit him but were told that Mr. Zhu was not there. Three weeks later, when his family members asked Bao Yuzhu, the associate director of the county police department, Mr. Zhu's whereabouts, they were told he had already been transferred to the Suihua City Forced Labor Camp. None of the imprisonments followed any legal processes or were founded on solid evidence.

Mr. Zhu used to suffer from kidney and stomach diseases, which prevented him from properly supporting his family. Shortly after he began to practice Falun Gong, however, his illnesses disappeared without any medical treatment. As he acted according to the standards of a Falun Gong practitioner, and most people got along with him very well. What law has such a good-hearted person violated? Why was such a good person arrested? When Mr. Zhu's daughter finally managed to see him at the labor camp, Mr. Zhu told her that Li Shilin, the 610 Office chief, brutally beat him and attempted to extort a confession by cruel torture. Today many people are saying, "Many Falun Gong practitioners, especially those from the countryside, have been arrested. Their organs are harvested as long as their blood types match, and then the bodies are cremated. Evidence of such crimes for thousands of practitioners has been documented." Given the grave situation, we, as the relatives and friends of Mr. Zhu, are extremely concerned. Given that he is just practicing his own belief honored by our constitution and has violated no law, we strongly demand his immediate release.

The people who arrested, detained, and took him to the forced labor camp are the ones who violated the laws. They are the true criminals. According to sections 238, 243, 247, 248, and 397 of the Criminal Law, we hereby sue Tang Huaijun, Secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee of Taikang County, Daqing City, Helongjiang Province; Li Shilin and Jiang Yunsheng the 610 Office chiefs; Li Xiaoguang, director of the Police Department of Taikang County; Bao Yuzhu and Bai Zhiwen, the associate directors of the police department; and police officer Dong Min at Hujietumo Police Station for their illegal detention and imprisonment of Mr. Zhu, for their crime of extracting a confession with torture, for their crime of abusing the imprisoned, and for their abuse of their power. We are determined to fight until justice is served. We demand the immediate release of Zhu Yanghe, compensation for the physical and mental damages to Mr. Zhu and his family, and the restoration of Mr. Zhu's reputation.
