Washington DC: Korus Festival Attracts 50,000 People-Falun Gong Practitioners Demonstrate the Beauty and Peacefulness of the Practice (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 28-30, 2007, Falun Gong practitioners in the Washington Metropolitan area were invited to participate in the fifth annual Korus Festival held in Annandale, Virginia. The three-day celebration attracted more than 50,000 people of different nationalities. Falun Gong practitioners displayed the beauty and peacefulness of the practice at the cultural festival and earned rave reviews from the audience.

Falun Gong practitioners' lion dance is warmly received by the audience

At the invitation of the Asian Community Service Center, Falun Gong practitioners in the Washington Metropolitan area and young practitioners from the Minghui School demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises on the stage. They also performed lion and dragon dances, and the Taiping Drum dance. They brought beauty and peace to people in the community.

Several local councilor candidates posed in front of the Falun Dafa booth to have their photos taken. Ms. Jeanette Rishell, a Democratic candidate who is running for the Virginia House of Delegates seat in the 50th district came to the Falun Dafa booth. She recognizes the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," and she said that the coexistence of multiple cultures requires tolerance. She expressed her hope that more residents will follow the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."
