When the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) atrocities of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners were exposed to the public in March 2006, the news drew a great deal of attention from the international community. Although the CCP authorities repeatedly denied and covered up their crimes, under international pressure the CCP announced a regulation limiting its human organ trade. However, more and more evidence shows that the forced labor camps and prisons in China have colluded with the hospitals--especially the CCP's military hospitals--to harvest and sell Falun Gong practitioners' organs under the protection and co-operation of the military, police, CCP officials and other government organizations. The atrocities of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners still exist throughout China.

The Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) recently publicized the voice recordings of its investigation of the Beijing Military Hospital, Jingzhou Court of Hebei Province, Guangxi Nationality Hospital, etc. The recordings clearly show that the Chinese Communist Party is continuing its crimes of harvesting organs from live Falun Gong practitioners.

CIPFG Investigation Record of Organ Harvesting from Live Falun Gong Practitioners in Mainland China.

Dear friends,

When you hear about a group of people having their chests cut open, and their hearts, kidneys, livers and cornea harvested, simply because they refused to give up their spiritual beliefs, you may have difficulty believing it is real. But this really is happening in China now. And all of these crimes are being conducted in military hospitals, armed police hospitals and local hospitals under the cooperation and protection of China's judicial system. Please read the following transcript recorded by the CIPFG:

(Audio recording in Chinese [13'15"])

I. An audio recording of a phone call with a contact person of PLA No. 307 Hospital in Beijing regarding the source of kidneys for transplant: (PLA: People's Liberation Army)

(A: CIPFG Investigator; B: Organ broker representative)

B: Hello.

A: Hi, How are you doing, Chen?

B: How are you?

A: Are you Chen Qiang?

B: Yes, this is he. What can I do for you?

A: How are you? We have talked about contacting the kidney supply. Is there any progress?

B: You mean contacting prisons or "that"?

A: Yes. About getting kidneys from Falun Gong practitioners.

B: I heard it is becoming very difficult. Do you know what I mean?

A: Is that so?

B: I can get a kidney for you [from a Falun Gong practitioner], but let me be frank. It's going to cost you because I have to work through my connections.

A: Money is not a problem.

B: I cannot have my connections work for nothing. For example, my connection in Chaoyang, Xicheng, Haidian, etc. I cannot work for nothing, either.

A: Yes, I will pay for it. But what's the situation now? I heard that if we can find a kidney from a Falun Gong practitioner...

B: Let me tell you something. Who will give you a kidney without seeing money first? These days these people will not do anything until they see the money. It's impossible. In prisons, we have obtained organs from Falun Gong practitioners. I have talked to a Big Sister before. I have worked with her before, but now it is getting difficult [to obtain organs from Falun Gong practitioners.]

A: Where did you get organs from Falun Gong practitioners?

B: Well, from Xicheng.

A: Xicheng. What about now? The other thing is-- how can I be sure the kidney is really from a Falun Gong practitioner? How do you ascertain that?

B: How do I make sure the organ came from a Falun Gong practitioner? When the time comes, my boss will show you the information. Do you know what I mean? He will provide you with the documentation. Rest assured. We work with government officials. They have connections in high places. Do you know what I mean? You don't have to remind me. I will show you the documentation to prove it. Do you know what I mean?

A: Okay. Well, there is one more thing I don't quite understand about these people [Falun Gong practitioners]. Are they imprisoned in forced labor camps or prisons. Normally they should be imprisoned in police stations...

B: They are rarely imprisoned in forced labor camps these days.

A: Is that so? Then where are Falun Gong practitioners imprisoned these days?

B: Nowadays they are kept in prisons. Prisons. Generally speaking, Falun Gong practitioners imprisoned in Beijing will be "distributed" to other cities [as organ sources].

A: I heard that a few years ago a lot of imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners who refused to give their names were kept underground. They were not kept in prisons or forced labor camps.

B: What you are talking about is the Falun Gong practitioners back in 2003. I know exactly what you are talking about. Those Falun Gong practitioners who refused to give their names were back in 2003. These days not many Falun Gong practitioners do that. ["That" implies appealing to the State Appeals Office in Beijing.] Therefore, we will have to find a match from our 2003 database [of Falun Gong practitioners]. Do you understand?

A: Oh, there are a lot of Falun Gong practitioners "available" from 2003. Is that it?

B: Yes. We have lots and lots of Falun Gong practitioners arrested in 2003 in our database.

A: You see. I have no problem with the first 50,000 yuan. I am willing to give you 20,000 yuan more so that you know I really mean it. But you will have to give me an estimate of the rest of the cost so that I can rest assured regarding how much more I will be paying.

B: The cost, you know... Well, I am working with my connections. As for the specific costs, well, I am estimating 20,000 yuan at a minimum. Do you understand?

A: I see.

B: Falun Gong practitioners' organs. Later I made a phone call to my boss. My boss called his connection. He told me that he had to find one from "there."

A: I see.

B: Nowadays they [Falun Gong practitioners on our organ database] have been transferred to prisons outside of Beijing, so we will have to transfer the selected practitioner from the prison out-of-town. A transfer means that we will have to pay most of the fee to the connections in that prison. Do you know what I mean?

A: I see. You know that a few years ago Falun Gong practitioners appealing for Falun Gong didn't give their names, so they were imprisoned secretly. They were not registered by their name.

B: Yes, it is fairly common. You see. Those Falun Gong practitioners who didn't leave their names, let me tell you, are identified by number. Do you understand?

A: Yes.

B: If you cannot find a Falun Gong practitioner's real name, you can only record him by number. Do you understand?

A: Oh.

B: Handprint is another unique identifier. You see? This is the way it goes these days.

A: Right.

B: Let me tell you something. After this is done, I must not tell you the names of people involved or any details. Do you understand? These days no one can get it done without any connection, especially something like this. Do you understand?

A: Right.

B: Take my direct connection as an example. I cannot tell you my connections at the police stations. I must not be careless about this. It won't do if I am careless. We all have connections. Since I am in this business, I have connections in all the involved departments. No one can do this without any connection.

A: Indeed. I am contacting you precisely because...

B: This business is an established channel, you know.

A: Right.

2. Transcript of an investigative phone call to Court 1 at the People's High Court in Jingzhou City

Q: Hello, is this Court 1 at the People's High Court in Jingzhou City?

A: Yes.

Q: I know that since 2001, we have been getting kidneys from young, healthy Falun Gong practitioners from courts and detention centers. The source of these kidneys seems to have reduced deliveries now. I wonder whether your contacts at your court can still provide such sources?

A:. That depends on the conditions of your unit. We need to discuss this with our leader. If your unit's condition is good we may still be able to do that. Let's look at your situation and then I will report it to our chief. He will then contact you if necessary.

3. Transcript of an investigative phone call to the Kidney Transplant Department at the Guangxi National Hospital

Q: As far as I know, your hospital is among the better ones for transplant operations. Can you get organs from Falun Gong practitioners? If yes, can I come. Can you get it?

A: Let me tell you that we can not get organs directly. It is not easy in Guangxi. If you would like it fast, I suggest you go to Guangzhou where the organs are easy to get. They have nationwide sources. They can get a kidney for you when they do liver transplants. It's very easy for them to get organs. So, many places that have trouble getting organs can get some from them. Yes, yes, it is the Zhongshan University No.3 Affiliated Hospital.

Q: At the Zhongshan University No.3 Affiliated Hospital, what is the name of the doctor?

A: Miao Bing.

Q: Why can he get one so easily but you can't?

A: They have a bigger name. They use the university's name to contact courts.

Q: Do they also use Falun Gong practitioners for organ sources?

A: Yes, yes. They do quite a few every week. They have done so many and they have connections with the system.

Q: Oh, connections with the system?

A: Because many hospitals can perform the transplant.

Q: I see. So they can find the source? Where do they usually get it? Local or other places?

A: They have offices all over the country. They have a special group of people who only work on that.

Q: I see. They all look for organs from Falun Gong practitioners? Those who are very healthy?

A: Yes, yes.

Q: For those organs you used in the past, were they from detention centers or prisons?

A: From prisons.

Q: From prisons? They were all from healthy Falun Gong practitioners? Healthy Falun Gong practitioners?

A: Yes, yes. Of course, they would only choose good ones. We have to pay attention to quality.

Q: You mean you need to choose?

A: Yes, yes.

Q: Do you think they can find a Falun Gong "donor" for me?

A: If you go there, it should be no problem at all.

Q: They can do it?

A: I am telling you, it's extremely easy for them.

Q: Easy?

A: They perform seven or eight liver transplants per week. They could supply a dozen kidneys for transplants. They do several dozen per month. Finding organs is no problem for them.

Q: Oh, I mean, I would like to find a Falun Gong organ source for my child. You think they can do it?

A: Sure. I told you that not every hospital can get it. You need connections. Whoever has the better connections is the one who gets it.

Q: Which means we should go through the court directly, and not through the forced labor camps or detention centers?

A: Yes, yes. It doesn't depend on our hospital.

Q: So I need to give them money, don't I?

A: Correct. You need to bribe them. It can't be gotten for nothing.

Q: For those Falun Gong donors, are they usually male or female?

A: Both. They will choose one based on your test and match them.

Q: I know. How old are they?

A: Usually around 30.

Q: Around 30. So you (doctors) go to prisons and choose them by yourself?

A: Yes, yes. We certainly will choose them.

Q: What if the person you choose refuses to let you test him?

A: He will certainly let us make the test.

Q: How?

A: We have policemen present, but what are you afraid of? You don't have to worry about that. They have a system which works.

Q: Will the chosen person know his organs will be taken?

A: They don't know.

Q: They don't? You don't let him know, otherwise he will refuse to get tested, right?

A: Yes. But you don't need to worry about all of that.

The cruelty of what has been described above has far exceeded even that of the Nazis, and it is happening today in communist ruled China. Don't think that this is only an isolated case. In the beginning of the persecution of Falun Gong, Jiang Zemin had already ordered personnel from the 610 Office to start the campaign of genocide against Falun Gong practitioners, and his instructions were to "ruin [practitioners'] reputations, bankrupt [practitioners] financially, and destroy [practitioners] physically." Jiang also ordered: "Count it as suicide if beaten to death."

In August, police from Israel arrested four people who were illegally trading organs. They admitted that the source of the organs was an illegal trade in China. This news was published in newspapers in Israel. Canadian international human rights lawyer David Matas and former Canadian Secretary of State (Asia Pacific) David Kilgour have provided their investigation reports which conclude that organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners by the CCP has taken place and is still continuing today.
